Will FR embrace socialism to make way for Rudy Giuliani as a Republican presidential candidate?
vanity | April 21, 2007 | Jim Robinson

Posted on 04/21/2007 6:42:25 PM PDT by Jim Robinson

We've got some real challenges facing us. FR was established to fight against government corruption, overstepping, and abuse and to fight for a return to the limited constitutional government as envisioned and set forth by our founding fathers in the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution and other founding documents.

One of the biggest cases of government corruption, overstepping and abuse that I know of is its disgraceful headlong slide into a socialist hell. Our founders never intended for abortion to be the law of the land. And they never intended the Supreme Court to be a legislative body. They never intended God or religion to be written out of public life. They never intended government to be used to deny God's existence or for government to be used to force sexual perversions onto our society or into our children's education curriculum. They never intend for government to disarm the people. They never intended for government to set up sanctuary cities for illegals. They never intended government to “rule” over the people and or to take their earnings or private property or to deprive them of their constitutional rights to free speech, free religion, private property, due process, etc. They never intended government to seize the private property of private citizens through draconian asset forfeiture laws or laws allowing government to take private property from lawful owners to give to developers. Or to seize wealth and redistribute it to others. Or to provide government forced health insurance or government forced retirement systems.

All of the above are examples of ever expanding socialism and tyranny brought to us by liberals/liberalism.

FR fights against the liberals/Democrats in all of these areas and always will. Now if liberalism infiltrates into the Republican party and Republicans start promoting all this socialist garbage, do you think that I or FR will suddenly stop fighting against it? Do you think I'm going to bow down and accept abortionism, feminism, homosexualism, global warming, illegal alien lawbreakers, gun control, asset forfeiture, socialism, tyranny, totalitarianism, etc, etc, etc, just so some fancy New York liberal lawyer can become president from the Republican party?

Do you really expect me to do that?

I have never said Reagan was liberal.

Is making things up out of whole cloth part of your 'conservatism?'

“Some of the posters have been here for a long time but I never knew they were so liberal minded. They hid it very well over the years..”

No. They didn’t even try to hide it. I’m a class of ‘98 freeper and there has always been a very loud and noxious cadre of liberals here. They usually supported the party establishment, which is far more liberal than the grassroots. That’s why most of them supported President Bush’s poorest decisions, Alberto Gonzalez, open borders, Harriett Miers, ect..and they would be on the left side of every discussion about abortion, gays, or political correctness tyranny.

Since liberals are emotional creatures, they escalate very quickly. They don’t respond to facts and won’t even take on a post of more than a few lines, calling it “spam.” They quickly go to thrashing about and calling names, or using repetition. Once they get emotional, since being a liberal is what they are, not what they believe, they can’t put the brakes on. You saw people here that didn’t know when to shut up, or when to control their urge to tear down the man who runs the forum, or when to stop posting lies about other candidates or Ronald Reagan or whatever. No emotional brakes...

A few months back, this forum was being taken over by them. I went and spent some time at Liberty Post because here, a different liberal was dominating and policing every thread. I actually thought they were organizing. It was bad...

Many of them can’t stand us. I have no idea why they are Republicans. I guess it’s the east coast/cosmopolitan thing. It takes all kinds. It truly takes a coalition to win and be viable, but somebody here said it, we must make our philosophy acceptable to others, not surrender and be like the Democrats.

Rudy Giuliani has done us all a service because he has brought the contempt for social and religious conservatives out into the open.

“However, the GOP as currently constituted believes that it their duty to impose “Judeo Christian” values (as they interpret them) on everyone.”

Dang, that sounds like it’s right out of the WashCompost. Is this the same GOP that’s establishment is currently behind Giuliani who supports abortion, extragay rights, restrictions on guns and open borders?

For starters, you've also been defending Rudy Giuliani`s liberal record as Mayor of NYCity, on conservative Free Republic for quite some time. Now, whether you will vote for Rudy or not, is still not clear.

You're looking for a confrontation with me. I'm NOT gonna give you total satisfaction. But I will answer two points you posted.

>>>>>But to compare Reagan to "Bush43" in your view is wrong?

That's what I said and that's what I've told you before. Dubya has done fine on social issues, tax cuts and with appointment of justices. He's done okay in the WOT. Iraq is progressing. We shall see. But Bush43 is no Reagan. Period.

More importantly, comparing Rudy Giuliani to Ronald Reagan is an insult to the Reagan legacy. Rudy is a liberal. Reagan was a conservative.

>>>>>>LOL! Sounds like political correctness to me.

Sounds like you can't tell the difference of right from wrong, good from great, and liberal from conservative. So be it.

*stunned silence* - Well, read Aristotle, then, both thick volumes of “Complete works”, Princeton/Bollingen series LXXI - and I promise that you’ll be even more stunned. For example, you will learn that the fart and the burp are the same thing [but proceeding differently] - the former the “lower breath”, the latter - the upper. [”Problemata, 33. 9]. Ponder the profundity of it, for it is far from a superficial statement. Aristotle’s texts are not to be read glibly, but pondered.

Did Reagan cut and run from Lebanon?

Seems to me that Bush is more Reagan than Reagan.

I’m not keen on hyperbole, so your absurd reference to 1939 did not sit well with me. Now you’re trying to justify that comment. Unbelievable. Again, given your anger lately, I’m not surprised, but hey, it’s your choice.
