JIM ROBINSON AS THE NEW JOSEPH FARAH - STABBING THE CONSERVATIVE MOVEMENT IN THE BACK [Re:Giuliani]
On one the few rational minds left around here - but for long | 4/24/2007 | Al Simmons

Posted on 04/24/2007 10:22:39 AM PDT by Al Simmons

About me:

Lurker - since 1998

Member - since 1999

In self-imposed exile - since April 2007

The tone of the debate and the attacks on long-time fellow Freepers for the cardinal sin of daring to support Rudy Giuliani in early 2007 around here have really saddened me. Instead of fighting the enemy FR is now imposing an 'ideological purity' test on FR members. The well-oiled train has gone off the rails and Mr. Robinson risks becoming the next Joe Farah - a fellow who started a great website for conservative news and opinions, but who gradually drifted off to la-la land, losing all credibility - and readership - in the process.

He has set himself squarely in the Internet media spotlight, doused himself with gasoline, and and lighted himself on fire - a fact that has not escaped the attention of the left-wing lunatics at Daily Kos. Their reporting on what has been going on at FR is perhaps the first factually true account published on their site.

Jim, if that quote of yours about setting up an organization to 'Swiftboat Rudy' is accurate as quoted in their article, the only thing I have to say to you is that you ought to be ashamed of yourself, as you have now become the back-stabber of the conservative cause.

If you wish to marginalize this site by turning it into a narrow "several-issue" forum, that is your right. Just as it is my right to choose to not participate here any longer.

But you will be disappointed if you think that the crude, illiterate "goon squad" you have allowed free rein around here (dmw, narses, dirtboy, extremely extreme extremist, ReaganMan and several others - if I have slighted anyone, please email me if you want onto this list) will elevate the level of intellectual debate.

The result has been predictably in the other direction. That is what happens when you hire a bunch of brown shirts to enforce your own brand of political correctness.

Well, guess what? Politics is 99% BS and one can quite nicely live one's life without the need to bloviate about it. I know how I am going to vote. I could care less about anyone else. Life is too short to waste my time around here when I am clearly one of those made to feel like they are not welcome.

So, go ahead Jim -

MAKE MY DAY. BAN ME. I DARE YOU.

I'm still one of those who believes the midterm elections were not the voters turning more liberal as it was the voters just plain pissed with the "glad-handing" of the war, weak immigration enforcement, and other aspects of the corruption in the GOP you mentioned.

There are a lot of people misreading the midterm elections, including the Democrats in their entirety, and the RINOS. Including Giuliani. Remember my comments here.

The war on terror is the most important issue facing this country. I’ll support whoever is the Republican candidate. God help this country if Hillary or Obama becomes President.

Dude, you need to chill out. You've insulted me twice now over what is obviously an honest mistake.

Here's how you handle that sort of thing in the future:

"Hey, you said I support Giuliani and I don't. Read a little more carefully next time, OK?"

Then you'd get a response something like this:

"Sorry man, no offense intended. My bad."

See, that works much better than calling someone an idiot.

I am about 130 miles from Minot and have relatives living there. When I was more active in motorcycling, I knew a few guys who were from the base. Good bunch of folks.

HEY BONEHEAD !

As someone who served at An Thoi with Swifts, (that's where the idiot Kerry served) I can attest that 'swiftboating' is just getting the truth out through a tidal wave of Bull Crap. The fact that you literally 'spit' that word out with a sneer places you firmly in the liberal column AND on my personal sh*t list.

It's obvious to me that Jim just meant laying out in stark detail where Rudy stands on issues in Rudy's own words. If you were a Conservative regularly participating here, you would know damned well what Jim meant.

It’s not that I can’t take it. You’re making a simplistic assumption based on a need to assert your own supposedly superior guts. My motivation is simply that such people deserve to be smacked down. If more are reported for abuse, maybe Robinson will start enforcing some standards here. FReep would definitely benefit.

I have no beef with people who oppose Rudy in the primaries. There’s a fair chance I may do this myself. I have a huge beef with people who trash other conservatives for either supporting or merely defending Rudy. I also have a huge beef with people who would rather let a Rat win the presidency than vote for Rudy, if it comes to that.

Cleanup on aisle 438.

Bah. We're talking about a lowlife character who prances about in public with his mistress and informs his wife via a press conference that he's divorcing her.

Sorry, you mistook me for someone who gives a rip about you. I just lump you in with all the other $0r0$ plants. Go rip into a real Rudy fan.

Wasn’t much of an opus, as opi (opuses?) go.

It turns out that opuses, opi and opera are all correct. Who'd have thunk it?

Me? A Soros plant? Well, I have several pieces of good news! First, it's not just you; this guy agrees with your assessment of me:

Second, the FR mental health staff advises me that if you take this...

...you'll feel much better.

Have a nice day.

Thanks for the suggestion. I’d appeal to his conscience, but he obviously has none.

However, I’m going to let him know how angry I am that he is deliberately exposing my grandsons to being shot or blown up, and that treason is still a law on the books.

I’m also going to let him know I intend to try and get enough signatures for a recall vote.

The bestid.

My wife’s parents still live in Minot (and will until our Lord calls them home). While I do not miss the winters, I miss the people of North Dakota. I’ve not met anywhere people with greater generousity and caring for their neighbors.

If you don’t like the way Jim runs the site, go away.

It's a discussion site, open to registered members. When the discussion is limited by the site owner, the site loses its reason for being and all credibility.

I am not a supporter of Rudy but if he is the candidate, I will vote for him.

When the purists and absolutists refuse to support the GOP candidate, whomever, they might just as well pull the lever for Hillary or Hussein.

There are somethings more important than voting for a liberal (REPUBLICAN).

Hoo-rah! political suicide.

FR has not lost its reason for being and nor its credibility. I, too, will vote for Rudy if he is the Republican candidate, but Jim knows a lot more about running sites like this than some disgruntled member. I get disgruntled occasionally, too (usually I am fairly well guntled), but wouldn’t think of making a personal attack on Jim and challenging his right to run his creation in the way he sees fit.
