Barbara Hagan to Chair Ron Paul's New Hampshire Pro-Life Coalition
Top right-to-life advocate will head up statewide efforts
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
May 10, 2007
ARLINGTON, VA Long time right-to-life activist and former two-term New Hampshire state representative Barbara J. Hagan has endorsed Ron Paul for president of the United States. Mrs. Hagan will head up the Paul campaign's outreach to the New Hampshire pro-life community.
"The Ron Paul campaign is honored to have Barbara Hagan's support" said campaign chairman Kent Snyder. "Barbara is one of the most respected activists in New Hampshire and a giant in the pro-life community. There is no one better to lead our outreach to the right-to-life voters of the Granite State."
Barbara Hagan, the wife of Robert M. Hagan and mother of seven children, has been involved in politics since the age of 16. She has served as president and chairman of the New Hampshire Right to Life Committee and is a former vice chairman and long time member of New Hampshire Eagle Forum. In addition to vast political campaign experience, Barbara Hagan was one of four New Hampshire Pro Life and Pro Family Delegates to attend the White House Conference on Families and has devoted much of her public life to the right to life issue.
Mrs. Hagan says pro-lifers from all political persuasions can and should support Congressman Ron Paul for president because of his impeccable voting record, understanding of our constitutional republic and the inalienable right to life for all.

Now that’s an odd endorsement.
You’d think libertarian Ron Paul would be against government funded abortion but otherwise leave the decision up to the individual woman, ie, be pro-choice.

Really ending federal abortion funding would be a step in the right direction compared to the current regime that funds Planned Parenthood with our tax dollars.

Voted NO on forbidding human cloning for reproduction & medical research. (Feb 2003)
Voted NO on federal crime to harm fetus while committing other crimes. (Apr 2001)

Ah that now gives Paul about 2,000 votes nationwide. His position is simply not going to draw any support in the primaries which will actually mean something. He is the Dennis K of the Pubs as is Tancredo. Not that both of some of their stances are bad, but the totality of their campaign is simply unelectable.
To: elizabetty
If he voted against these bills, the reason most certainly would have to do with preventing the Federal leviathan from encroaching on rights of states. Ron Paul is a rock on constitutional issues. If all this abortion muddle was created by the courts wandering into areas where they have no business to be in, you cannot fix it by passing unconstitutional bills permitting the Federal govt. to do the same thing.
To: elizabetty
Because it isn't the FedGov's job. If it isn't in the Constitution, then they have no legal authority. Period.
If you want the FedGov to regulate abortion, pass an Amendment.

I have to give you Ron Paul fans some credit.
Either you honestly believe the man has a prayer, or you are dead set on riding with him down the road toward being a trivia answer with campaign debt.

Voted NO on forbidding human cloning for reproduction & medical research.
Let’s see:
1. He supports Dennis Kucinich’s desire for a fresh, Truther-friendly investigation into the “cover up” of 9/11.
2. He goes on Truther radio shows.
3. He suggests, Trutherifically, that the US will phony up a fake attack by Iran on our troops (probably killing Americans, as we may have done on 9/11) in order to have a pretext to bomb the mullahs. So, you know, if Iran actually does fire on American warships, his supporters will know it’s actually all a contrivance by the US government. (As was Iran’s taking of British hostages, presumably. As was the Khobar Towers bombing, presumably.)
He’s a Truther

But his Hagen woman is billed as a pro-life leader (either she is or she isn't or she is confused). If she is pro-life, she should be pro-life. Likewise paleoPaulie. SCOTUS created this mess with Roe vs. Wade handed down with SCOTUS's usual total ignorance of the constitution. PaleoPaulie likes to pretend that he knows even more about the constitution than the fo8nding fathers or anyone else. He doesn't. If he won't even vote to stop interstate traffic in abortion performed upon minors and their unborn children or the other bills referenced by elizabetty at #6 above, then he is worshiping himself as a constitutional authority at the expense of the kids who ought to be deemed protected by the Equal Protection clause of the XIVth Amendment (which amendment gives Congress power to act) also using the Interstate Commerce Clause to effectuate each of those bills. No amendment is necessary although, given the track record of SCOTUS and libertarians on the issue of abortion, one may be ultimately necessary to get past their inability to read.
In other news, Mrs. Hagan and other New Hampshire pro-lifers would do better to choose among the pro-life patriots available rather than helping Al Qaeda's Congressional friend from the Houston suburbs, Osama bin paleoPaulie, surrender monkey extraordinaire. In that way she can avoid embarrassing pro-lifers who have a grasp of actual politics.

Either you honestly believe the man has a prayer, or you are dead set on riding with him down the road toward being a trivia answer with campaign debt. I'm going with the former. I have prayed for his health and safety. I pray for your health and safety, too.

I was told he was a Libertarian but at the debate he said that he wouldn’t pardon Libby not because of the merits of Fitzgerald’s case, but because of Libby’s involvement in the Iraq War. That is definately not a Libertarian position.

Perhaps Ron Paul is a Constitutionalist Republican, not a libertarian as many suppose. Not a libertine.
