Wake up Conservative Base!

Posted on 05/10/2008 9:11:06 AM PDT by RonnieFan

All indications are the Democrats will pick up seats in both the House and Senate, with the Senate likely being a couple of RHINOs away from the magic 60. McCain is no Reagan but he's the only thing standing in the way of the most liberal Senator in Senate becoming President with a clear majority in Congress and at a critical time with decisions to be made on the war on terror, the war in Iraq, heath care, taxes, illegal immigration and likely the Supreme Court.

Sometimes you do have to pick the lesser of two evils. This is one of them. I am fully aware that I'll be let down by McCain on some key issues but I know I'll be let down on all of them if Obama is President.

Soros is spending millions for paid operatives to infiltrate FR and other forums and blogs in order to create dissatisfaction and suppress the Republican vote.

Oh? How much do you suppose Soros must be paying this FReeper, peanut...?:

Attn McCain Apologists: Talk all you want!

But he's still a constitution trampling RINO and unless he repeals McCain-Feingold, repudiates amnesty and global warming, drops all support for embryonic stem cell research and stops talking about partnering up with the Democrats and instead swears to fight the evil bastards he won't be getting my support.

You kicked the conservatives to the curb and nominated your RINO, now all you gotta do is get him elected.

Pfft. Walk, clown shoes

As it is now we are lucky to have a shaky 6-5 in the SCOTUS.

I assume you hold the same attitude towards President Reagan?

“I guess the only consolation is knowing a non vote for McQueeq is a yes vote for Obama.”

I prefer to look at it as, “A non vote for McBackstabber OR Bambi is a vote for whoever in the heck I DO choose to vote for.

NO ONE is entitled to your vote or mine based upon the letter that follows their name.

I didn’t realize that President Reagan was part of “McCain-Feingold”.

I understand McCain is trying to get the New Online Obfuscation Bill ("NOOB") through Congress. Among many provisions, this legislation would make it illegal for political web sites to reveal the sign-on dates of members within 180 days of elections, thus permitting party operatives who've had no interest in conservative causes for many years to sign onto FRee Republic and other conservative forums without having their credibility challenged.

That’s pretty funny, actually. Yin, meet yang. You are incorrect, though. McCain supporters accept the results of the GOP primaries, and rightly see McCain as the best of the two possible choices. The sit out and pout crowd, of which you are a member, are unable to accept the unhappy reality, and hence are willing to see President Obama rather than make a difficult choice. It’s as if they’ve never had to vote for a candidate they didn’t particularly care for. Their expectations are too high, their ability to cope with reality too low. So they now stew in their own anger/denial. And if McCain wins, they’ll be out in the cold.

McCain will straighten up when World War breaks out full force ... and its coming no doubt. We can draft the Mexicans.

Oh sure. They could have one of the richest nations on earth now if they would fight their own corruption within their own nation. Instead they export the tolorance for such here. Their corrup leaders encourage them to do so. So does ours like John McCain.

And if either Hillary or Obama is voted into office, those whose withheld votes from McCain are just as responsible as those who actually voted for Hillary or Obama.

I don’t recall Reagan-Feingold. Nor Reagan-Lieberman. Nor Reagan being part of a Gang of 14. And nope, no Reagan-Kennedy, although he signed an amnesty expecting the Dems to follow through on their promise to secure the border. According to Ed Meese, that was one of the biggest regrets Reagan had about his tenure as President. McCain, in contrast, is still pushing for amnesty, although he is loathe to call it that.

Let’s see.. .there’s also no Reagan bill calling for the Interior Dept. to scout locations for a national monument to Cesar Chavez, either. Shall I go on?

Why would someone rant on about not voting for McCain unless the objective is to get others to do the same.

What a foolish comment! McCain has bad-mouthed and sabotaged the Republican party for two decades, while proudly declaring himself a "maverick," and we're all supposed to rally round him now. I won't. And I don't believe the crap that our country cannot survive if we don't elect McCain. That frankly, is just plain bunk.

McCain is a finger-in-the-air kinda guy, just like Bill Clinton, testing the political winds before each significant event. Strong on the War on Terror? Not really. Look at his positions and voting record on terror suspects and obtaining information.

Everyone on this board is attempting to influence others. I am telling everyone I know that I will NEVER vote for John McCain ...because I am a conservative. What anyone does with my opinion is up to them. Just don't tell me I don't have the right to express my opinion because it happens to be different from yours.

Electing a bad Senator will not make a good President.

No, but he supported the Boren Goldwater (yes, THAT Goldwater) PAC limits bill in 1985, the fore-runner of McCain-Feingold. It never cleared the House.

I think this is a good thing. BHO will revitalize the conservative movement. Much to his chagrin, Carter paved the way for Ronaldus Magnus. Four years of humorless BO whining, and lecturing the country will discredit liberalism for generations.
Can’t wait to hear his version of the “malaise” speech; when he blames the people for his failure.

For supporters of a candidate who (as we've been reminded on this very board ad nauseum these past three, four months) "doesn't need conservatives in order to win," thanks to the tsunami of "moderate" 'Rats and illegal aliens purportedly all but champing at the proverbial bit to elect him in our stead: Team Juan shills certainly do whinny and snivel huffily whenever confronted by rejection from those very same conservatives, don't they? LOL!!! ;)
