Obama to Propose Massive Greenhouse Gas Tax
Saturday, February 21, 2009 | Kristinn

Barack Hussein Obama will propose a massive business tax on greenhouse gases in his FY 2010 federal budget to be presented this week.

The massive tax increase and power grab was buried at the end on article on Obama's forthcoming budget proposal in The New York Times:

On energy policy, Mr. Obama’s budget will show new revenues by 2012 from his proposal to require companies to buy permits from the government for greenhouse gas emissions above a certain cap. The Congressional Budget Office estimates that the permits would raise up to $300 billion a year by 2020.

Since companies would pass their costs on to customers, Mr. Obama would have the government use most of the revenues for relief to families to offset higher utility bills and related expenses. The remaining revenues would cover his proposals for $15 billion a year in spending and tax incentives to develop alternative energy.

The proposal is in keeping with a policy announcement candidate Obama made in 2007, as reported then by The Times:

"No business will be allowed to emit any greenhouse gases for free," Mr. Obama said in Portsmouth, N.H. "Businesses don’t own the sky, the public does, and if we want them to stop polluting it, we have to put a price on all pollution."

Obama famously said in 2008 he would make American citizens' electricity rates skyrocket under his plan:

"What I've said is that we would put a cap-and-trade system in place that is more -- that is as aggressive if not more aggressive than anybody else's out there, so if somebody wants to build a coal-powered plant, they can, it's just that it will bankrupt them because they're going to be charged a huge sum for all that greenhouse gas that's being emitted.

"When I was asked earlier about the issue of coal, uh, you know, under my plan of a cap-and-trade system, electricity rates would necessarily skyrocket.

Regardless of what I say about whether coal is good or bad, because I'm capping greenhouse gases, coal-powered plants, you know, natural gas, whatever the plants were, whatever the industry was, they would have to retrofit their operations. That will cost money, they will pass that money on to consumers. If you can't persuade the American people that, yes, there's going to be some increase in electricity rates on the front end, but that over the long term because of combinations of more efficient energy usage and changing lightbulbs and more efficient appliances, but also technology improving how we can produce clean energy, that the economy will benefit. If we can't make that argument persuasively enough, you -- you can -- you can be Lyndon Johnson, you can be the master of Washington, you're not gonna get that done."

Obama, of course, has no intention of persuading the American people, he's going to ram his Marxist agenda up their tailpipes.

We’re already *this close* to a tax revolt in this country. This would be the straw that broke the camel’s back...

"Businesses don’t own the sky, the public does, and if we want them to stop polluting it, we have to put a price on all pollution."

False Premise.....

CO2 IS NOT POLLUTION, IT IS A NATURAL GAS.

And not even the public owns the sky. It doesn't belong to anyone.

This has to be the most stupid thing I have heard from him yet.....

.....Take the money away from the consumer so you can give it back to offset the higher cost....

HUH?

Obama to Propose Massive Greenhouse Gas Tax

Lemme Guess, This will be a Triple Dipper Tax.....

.....Tax the Mine for digging up X-pounds of carbon, they pass the tax on to the Electric Utility.

.....Tax the Electric Utility for burning x-pounds of carbon. They pass both taxes on to the Consumer.

.....Tax the Consumers for using the electricity equal to X-pounds of carbon. The cost of electricity already has the other two taxes in it.

If it comes comes down to it I will die fighting. If you have ever had the opportunity to visit a Nazi Death Camp, please do so. Fortunately I live in Idaho, away from a lot of the craziness. Obama and his minions want open revolt, so they can get martial law. If that happens, I don’t know what will go down, but it won’t be pretty.

I know, I often think that if my grandfather saw what we are now, he would not have fought hard ad D-Day. He was among the first to hit Omaha Beach and got wounded. He also had PTSS issues as well. I wish I had his M1 Garand or even the Kar-98 he brought back from the Germans, never know if they will be needed over here. B-(

I also talked to a veteran who was with the 101st where he fought at Sainte-Mére-Eglise and went on to liberate Buchenwald where the concentration camps were. I pray to God we don't see that here, the story he told me were horrifying.

if only there were someplace to run to. The problem is that we’re it. There’s no place else to go.

Historically, people always ran here, but overnight, we’ve turned into a tyranny.

I was saying this the other day.

There really is nowhere else to go. Everyone used to come HERE to escape tyranny.

This is all so infuriating.....

.....Enemies within tearing us down from the top and bottom.

.....Enemies outside building the nukes and practicing commercial airplane flight to bring down our cities and infrastructure.

.....The enemies within taking down our guard and releasing the prisoners of war so they can do it again.

Just peachy.....

I'm not clear why you pinged off my #201 . . .

Regardless, all the absurdities your posts pointed to are of course precisely that - absurdities.

Many of us here tried to point out for months and months the absolute danger of this muslim fascist piece of shit, but sometimes people simply have to crash/burn from their bad choices before they hurt enough to mend their ways.

The sad truth is that some never do, and destroy much more than themselves in the process.

The cancer of stupidity, ignorance, and fraud runs deep in the body of the American electorate, hence this assclown is only the current . . .

There are archives on Obama. If you check the headers, the Obama Files may still be clickable up top. I did a lot of research but not in an organized fashion. Try under user name “kristinn” I believe had plenty on BHO. It’s appalling the media hid this guy’s true ideology and background from voters. They are still worshipping him. Hitler was iconized too...

The stockmarket knows he's anti-capitalist which is why it keeps going south. Wait until it's time for him to lecture us and the feds find more ways to encroach on our freedoms.

The only freedoms if their world view prevails will be the right to abort and the right to assisted suicide and the patriotic duty to be taxed. George Soros is the man behind the curtain.
