Unlike Romney's "National Council for a New America," Free Republic is a conservative site!

I'm going to try one more time to explain what FR is all about.

Free Republic is a conservative site. That does not necessarily mean it is a Republican site. In fact there may be many Republicans we don't support and some Republican issues we cannot agree with.

I'll throw in Arlen Specter as a prime example of a Republican we cannot support. Should be obvious to all why not. Should also be just as obvious to all that we cannot support Olympia Snowe, Susan Collins, John McCain and his lap dog Lindsay Graham, Rudy Giuliani, Mitt Romney, et al.

Some of the issues we cannot support as conservatives even though sometimes initiated by so-called Republicans include TARP, or any kind of government bailout of private enterprise, federal intrusion into free markets, federalized education systems, government provided or controlled health care systems, abortion, gay marriage, amnesty, global warming, gun control, etc.

I guess there is more than one definition of conservatism floating around out there, and this won't be text book, but the one we use involves defending, preserving and protecting our constitution, our unalienable rights, our traditional family values, our American heritage, our nation, our borders and our sovereignty.

We aggressively defend our rights to Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness!

We aggressively defend our rights to freedom of religion, freedom of speech, freedom of assembly, freedom to keep and bear arms, right to due process, right to equality under the law, right to be governed under the rule of law, right to constitutionally limited government, right to corruption free government, right to self-government and our private property rights, etc.

We also aggressively defend our right to state and local government for all issues not expressly delegated to the central government by the constitution.

We aggressively defend our rights to free markets and our rights to live our lives free of government intrusion, interference, coercion, force, or abuse of any kind.

We aggressively defend our rights to national sovereignty, state sovereignty and individual sovereignty!

And this definition also includes aggressively fighting against all enemies foreign and domestic who may try to deprive us of our rights or sovereignty. This would obviously include all foreign enemies, but also we defend against RINOS, Democrats, liberals, socialists, Marxists, communists, militant feminists or homosexualists, radical environmentalists, etc, etc, etc.

And we expect our elected representatives to also aggressively defend our rights and fight against all enemies foreign and domestic. We do not elect people and send them to DC or our state capitals, etc, to reach across the aisles or to be bipartisan or to negotiate or compromise away our rights. If you're not going to aggressively fight for us, and for our rights, STAY OUT!!

We bow to no king but God!

Our God-given unalienable rights are NOT negotiable!

Do NOT Tread on US!

Thank you very much!

Can we please be realistic here?

There are wood planks in my garage that have more charisma than Duncan Hunter. And they didn’t vote for all that pork barrel spending either.

And no, charisma isn’t the most important quality in a candidate, but it’s very helpful to have a candidate with the personality that can develop the following you’re talking about. Aside from like 10 true believers on FR, he hasn’t done that and won’t do that.

Free Republic is a conservative site. That does not necessarily mean it is a Republican site.

Bravo Jim. Unfortunately, some people have no idea that Republican doesn't always equal Conservative. I'm proud to say that I stand by your side on this issue.

Free Republic is here to FIGHT FOR conservatism, not to compromise, negotiate, debate, be fair, be bipartisan, hold hands across the aisle, erect big tents, elect RINO Republicans or otherwise allow politicians to continue eroding away our rights, giving up our sovereignty, or to continue their big government, big spending, high taxing, anti-freedom, anti-American socialist ways.

RINOS will be the death of the GOP and the death of American Liberty if allowed to “rule” over us!

BTTT!

Free Republic did support McCain once he chose Palin as his running mate. If Romney or Giuliani is the Republican candidate 4 years from now, what is FR going to do?

Yes. A candidate needs to be viable. Somehow lefties get away with wild streaks that get righties publicly marked as kooks.

I’m an unkind, unfair, unkempt, uncouth, nasty, foul-mouthed SOB! And I’m mad as hell and I’m not going to take it anymore! The RINOs, liberals and socialists who are hell bent on destroying our beloved constitution and stealing my Liberty and enslaving my children can go straight to hell! And that includes Myth Romney!!

It’ll be a cold day in hell before FR supports that abortionist, gun grabbing, socialist WAnker!!

Those who don’t like it can join him there!!

It’ll be “hold your nose and vote X, because anything’s better than Obama.”

“I politely disagree. He just has to get a following of people who agree with him on the core issues.

What kind of executive experience did Obama have”

Is Obama the standard you wish to use to choose the chief executive of the United States. I would think we would have a higher standard. I think the best candidates have experience such as governor or mayor of a large city, executive experience in a large company or command experience in the military .... if not they will not have the experience necessary for the position.

So what does this mean? That, for example, anyone who might be pro-Romney (and, for the record, I’m not pro-Romney) is not welcome and/or subject to banning if he or she posts something supportive of Mitt?

Well, JR, I HOPE it means that there won't be twenty Romney-pimpin' threads posted every day on FR any longer, some with the same title posted over and over.

Has anyone noticed that even though Palin is highly thought of, there are only an average of four to five posts about her daily? And these are not posts that are from press releases by her campaign.

I know what it means when the MSM ridicules it. It's gaining power fast. Folks are not going to fold. Might as well have Putin in the White House regarding the stupid left.

My son who is 27, did not have health insurance last year, and when he went to file his 2008 Massachusetts state income tax found out that because of that fact he owes an additional 762 dollars.

This is the same plan Mitt Romney is bragging about today.

Is that true?
Guess it'll be that way in all our states soon...

Super duper! That was my first post from my Palm Centro. I’ve had it for a few weeks, and am just now getting used to using the keyboard for such stuff. I decided to merge my phone with my palm instead of carrying around two devices. So far so good.

How’s it going with you?

If that is the case, then hopefully you would do something against the vitriol that has been unleashed against Rep. Ron Paul & his supporters here. Even his son (who I think may be thinking about running for Congress in KY???) has been insulted here. Sure, Rep. Paul & I don't agree on all issues all of the time, but then again, can you name any 2 people in this world who do?

If what you said above is true, then shouldn't you respect him? IMHO, he really is one of the good guys!

What is the different from this kind of locker room talk than from the Old Boys club of the Republican party that wants to oppress good from surfacing because they have their old agenda.

I like some of the things I heard about freedom, liberty, and opportunity to exercise one God given talents!

you men seem not to respect the women here just because some women accept this talk don’t mean all do.

So if the bar of good is not going to be part of the improvement what the purpose of this movement?

it is sad many do not see this is not improving the quality of the prusuit of Life Liberty and Happiness it is just protecting one own private party.

I stand for truth, doing the right thing and accountability for ones actions but it seems to me some like that same old comfort zone of boys locker room and want that same status quo!

Knowing this means throwing the contest to Obama, I expect a lot will simply go away, and hold their nose and vote X, then come back later (when hopefully X has won).
