WASHINGTON -- In a landmark vote, the Senate on Saturday ended the Clinton-era ban on gays serving openly in the military, marking a major triumph for President Obama, liberals and the gay community.

The final vote to end the Pentagon's 1993 "don't ask, don't tell" policy was 65-31, drawing support from eight Republicans.

The bill now goes to the White House for Obama's signature. He is expected to sign the bill into law next week, a senior White House aide told Fox News.

P.S. Hello TROLL!

You made a special visit here after many months to relish the homosexual sex victory for orifice justice huh?

“Are you going to advocate a ban on homosexual behavior in the military?”

Yes, on par with adultery, pedophilia, bestiality, promiscuity. None of those are viewed favorably in the military, nor are there any “pride” groups for any of these sins.

“Oh well - so what I guess - as long as they keep the the damage control fittings greased and know how to fight a shipboard fire...they can f__k each other in the _ss all they want I suppose.

Thank goodness I’m retired....:-)”

Unfortunately many of us are NOT retired and will be strung up when we oppose this abomination. I’m disheartened by your “so what” response.

“I won’t keep my mouth shut. What’s true is true and I won’t be forced to accept a lie.
***********************************************
But then doesn’t that make it true—they’ve only transferred DADT, they didn’t repeal anything.

I have such a headache thinking about all this craziness— I forget which military big-wig said: if any serving have a problem with gays openly serving, they best find a new job. (the gist of it anyhow)

So, what good have these congress-critters done—even in their twisted ‘social justice’ minds? They’ve just switched who is to be forced to keep their mouth shut—deny their lifestyle/beliefs—if they want to serve.

It’s a bunch of convoluted madness, in my eyes.”

The fool that said anyone who doesn’t like open homosexuality can just get out, that was Adm. Mullen. I am extremely disappointed and heartbroken. Dear Holy Father, come quickly!

This was done purely for symbolism reasons - Ridiculous at the current time - With that said, it isn't going to change sh*t DR....and those warriors DR really aren't overly concerned with this in the least (as someone who has been DR multiple times to both Iraq and Stan).

I would prefer military government to the corrupt and pretentious “free” government we now suffer under. At least the military would jail—or otherwise eliminate—the reprobates that are causing our decline. Bring it on. I will support it emphatically!

I would actively assist the imposition of military discipline on this country, since far too many Americans are lazy jackasses, who want a free ride at the expense of others. WORK OR DIE! That should be the national motto!

America is in serious short supply of discipline. Military rule would fix our problems in a heartbeat: WORK OR DIE! Real simple. The military would declare open season on the liberal thieves, as a practical matter. “Imagine no more liberals ... it’s easy, if you try... No Reid or Pelosi... We’ll send them off to die”

Second target on the agenda—after the military jails the 545 corrupt A-holes now occupying office...

The elimination of the thousands of useless bureaucrats... and after them, the lawyers, judges and university professors will all be shown the meaning of “manual labor”

Then we could eliminate the media, which really needs to go the way of the dinosaur. They are as useless as tits on a bull. We have internet, we do not need the sh*thead primadonnas of the press

Military government? Bring it on. I can hardly wait!

Gays form their own clique anywhere they go, and the same will be true in the military.

I guess Congress is too stupid to learn from the Catholic Church debacle with gay pedophile priests.

How long would you support it if it was decided that you are one of troublemakers?

The bill does not require repealing of the ban on sodomy in the UCMJ. The bill says: (D) Recommend appropriate changes (if any) to the Uniform Code of Military Justice. http://www.thomas.gov/cgi-bin/query/z?c111:H.R.6520:

That means what happens next is important. If the sodomy ban stays, then homosexuality activity among service members is still forbidden.

"In these war-like times we're living in, fighting atheism, secularism, materialism, and a bucketful of other 'isms,' we need to pick up a new weapon. Not an old lady's strand of plastic beads held together with dainty little links. Real men with a real war on their hands need to pick up a two-fisted glistening sword capable of slashing at least three demons in half with one ferocious swing. That sword is not called 'Excalibur' drawn out of a stone by King Arthur and later returned to him by Vivian, the Lady of the Lake. This new sword is called 'El Rosario' given to all of us by Mary, the Lady of the Rosary" --Thomas K. Concert on Fr. Corapi, and Fr. Flanagan, "The Rosary Is Not For Wimps!."

I will not mince my words: The only thing that is going to save America is when Americans get the balls to off these bastards, in plain English.

The other things you posted are a waste of time and effort.

You want this crap to stop? Them be willing to make these pricks assume room temperature... and get on with THAT exercise.

Anything else is whistling in the wind and a waste of effort. This country is a s good as dead. We just do not have the honesty here to admit it. The only thing that will save America is a bloody civil war. Because, as long as the enemy lives, even if out of power, they will continue to threaten our liberties. So, it really does come down to literal survival—us or them... and I have no problem eliminating “them” from the equation—permanently.

I had gay friends too. I don’t anymore, I don’t hate them but the more I saw them socially the more the facade started to go away. I choose to stay clear of them. Not one ever hit on me or nor did I ever feel threatened by any one of them. What disturbed me once they felt I was comfortable being around them I saw a whole otherside to this “lifestyle” and it was revolting, scary and quite frankly filled with drugs, sex and dangerous behavior.

Good riddance.

There are at least several positives due to this leftist delusional last desperate act: We see clearly the enemy, RINOs are thinned from the herd, AND we grow ever energized and outraged. The sleeping giant not only awakens he is pissed off!

The pendulum ALWAYS swing back and ALWAYS swings beyond where it swung before... It will not be to long before we see leftists weeping and seeking therapy....

This is not thew only issue, but I remember my father said that if he was drafted today fight for the U.S. today, he told me that "I would rather go to Canada or to jail than fight for the country." He was in the Army from 1955/57 and was stationed at Camp Casey in South Korea. It is a shame to see and hear that, but we are turning this country into an idiocracy. I have nothing against homosexuals although I don't condone the lifestyle or politics, but when it comes to the military, this could compromise unit cohesion and national security.

If a homosexual wants to serve his country, there are other ways. Take Alan Turing for example, he served his country, the UK (and the rest of us), during World War II by designing and running the early computers that helped crack codes at Benchley park in World War II. I think he was unfairly picked on for being homosexual and his life was private, but he did our cause a much better service than he would if he was slogging around in the mud with a Lee Enfield .303 rifle. Yes, that is also an important job, all jobs in wartime are important and as the saying goes, "the world is a stage" and we all have our parts to play.

This issue needs at least more study if not laid to rest entirely with the ban in place, but Obongo is really pushing it for the sake of political correctness and "feel goodism," all that would do is get us killed.

If you wanna have the benefit of being one of those "Protected Class" members (you get benfits and have the Right to claim discrimination), I suggest we all specify that we are "gay", and get it on the record.

Heterosexual White Christians have no protections whatsoever that SPECIFIES they are to be afforded ANYTHING, so maybe it's time we all became "gay" (on paper)?

I ought to try that. I'm jonesin' for a new car battery for Mom's car and I'm low on money. I also have to pay off the new furnace we had to buy and I'd like to get my 1977 Mercury Cougar back on the road. Maybe this is a way to get some. B-P /sarc>
