Ollie's crossed the Tigris, detailing a three pronged attack, but not drawing it in the sand:)

MSNBC's Bob Arnot reported live (and very excitedly) that the Marines have crossed the Tigris river and bypassed Al Kut. They put heavy artillery fire on the Republican Guard nearby last night and are heading for Baghdad. The commanding general said the USMC took Iwo Jima and that Baghdad ain't S.H.I... Very pumped up. Iraqis were friendly and pointed out the Baathists.

The military commentator on Fox and Bob Arnot on Anti-America's Channel made it sound like we would be on the outskirts of Baghdad at any hour. Our airpower must have done quite a job! I presume that the feed of info from the frontline is well behind reality at this point...

Whew: to say that Karbala fell I think is quite premature, unless I've missed something. I believe it would be more proper to call it "bypassed".

So was this the first surprise of this campaign?
1. The 4th ID was nothing but a redherring to fool the Iraqis into thinking we were waiting for them?
2. The talk about the plan and not enough troops was an addition to the 4th ID talk to make the Iraqis think we were waiting.

LOL...just be glad Bagdad isn't a coastal city...else there wouldn't be ANY booze left for the Corps or the Army after the Navy got through with it.
To: rolling_stone
They're playing the Battle Hymn of the Republic on PMS Bag-cam. LOL I had my volume to the top, could barely hear the traffic noise, and all of a sudden, WHAM!

In fact, we might have to put a surgeon general's warning on the front of every newspaper and at the beginning of some broadcasts.....
WARNING, the people who assembled this information have NO idea what they are talking about - taking this propaganda seriously has been known to kill laboratory animals and Baathists....
