**FR Exclusive** KUCINICH SOLICITS FOREIGN MONEY FOR 2004 ON FOREIGN WEBSITE (JAPANESE) [VIOLATION?]
Global Peace Campaign (Japan) Website in Japanese ^ | 28 July 2003 | AmericanInTokyo

(You will need a browser with Japanese font capability, and ability to comprehend written Japanese)

As a FReeper Researcher, I have just come across a JAPANESE organization, based on an overseas JAPANESE website, in JAPANESE, that is encouraging foreigners to contribute money to and assist the "Campaign for American President Dennis Kucinich".

The URL of the activity was located at:

http://www.peace2001.org/

The organization is called "Global Peace Campaign" located in Japan. It is part of an umbrella of socialist and communist organizations opposing US efforts in Iraq, it supports North Korea, and is aligned with the usual communist movements.

The website has the invitation clearly written in Japanese, on the upper left side of the page, along with a link to the Kucinich campaign in the US, and a photo of the candidate. The organizers specifically solicit 500 Kucinich campaign contributors in Japan as a goal. Below are the comments in Japanese, translated by myself.

Humor Break:

A man walks into a grocery store and asks employee Jim, standing near the vegetable area, for half a head of lettuce. Jim tells the man he thinks lettuce is only sold by the head, but he will consult with the manager.

So Jim finds Bob, the manager, in a back area of the store and says: "Some jerk wants to buy half a head of lettuce." Then, noticing out of the corner of his eye the customer is standing right behind and has heard, Jim motions to him and adds: "And this gentleman wants to buy the other half."

A little later, Bob mentions how important it is to maintain customer relations, and tells Jim he is very impressed with employees who can think fast on their feet. Jim thanks him and they continue their chat until Jim mentions he recently moved from Canada.

Bob asks why he left. Jim tells him he couldn't stand living in a country full of whores and hockey players.

Bob's face shows displeasure as he says: "My wife is from Canada." To this, Jim immediately replies:

"Which team did she play for?"

In case they try to pull any of these from the Japanese server over there, or they start to crash due to overload from all the people checking it out, I have not only archived/cached said pages, but I have now hard-copy printed all the Japanese from each of those pages with the suspicious electoral funds activity going on for Kucinich (in the Japanese language) I am printing the URL of the web pages at the bottom of the sheets, too. Also, shows the time mark on the sheets I am printing.

Books sales. Book sales. Wonder if Hillary set up her own little pay for play in Europe when she was over there.

My thoughts EXACTLY! I was just getting ready to post that identical pondering. She's probably pretty hissed at Kucinich for stealing her idea and knows if he gets caught, she will too.

Smart move.
That way there is someone with hard copy of it somewhere just in case they try to distance themselves from it.

Another interesting thing spotted on one of the overseas website(s) to raise foreign money for Kucinich (through promising access) that reeks of Clinton and China cash:

Organizer Yumi Kikuchi sez' in Japanese on her site that 'for those who help raise money (become 'sponsors'), we are thinking of putting together a "Let's Meet Dennis" Tour in the Fall, to go the USA to meet with Kucinich-san, so let's all have fun.' (Aki ni sponsa no kata wo taisho ni "Dennis ni ai ni iku tour" no kikaku mo arimasu. O tanoshimi ni.)"

For 10,000 Japanese Yen, they will send one 'sponsor' 10 "Prayer for America' Kucinich books. Pyramid.

Traficant is mulling a bid for Prez.

Someone should send this to his website. He'd raise hell that Kucinich should be joining him in prison!

Some liberal dingbat named "Corrina McFarland" runs US-based website where she rants on about Kucinich as Savior...appears she is a campaign volunteer and travels around with him. Anyways, the Japanese-Kucinich connection popped up here (interesting):

"The world is watching - the potential of having an American president in this consciousness is creating a wave of beneficial international focusing. Yesterday I had just the best connection with Yumi Kicuchi who flew in from Japan for THREE days(!) to be on the campaign trail with Dennis.< Here's the woman who translated "Addicted to War" into Japanese. She said in Japan they could not believe that America could produce a leader such as this. She played Dennis into the De Anza college session with her silver flute to honor him. Eight of us went to lunch together before the afternoon TV session. The conversation was scintillating. We talked about kilts4peace, Imagine America, Chicago, Santa Cruz, The World.....we talked dynamically about a life and world we would all be thrilled to participate in! May 27, 2003"

Yeah, I'll say. Kucinich is "getting world-wide coverage", Corrina. He's getting it right here today on 28 July 2003.

FEC getting a purge...NYTimes.com article.

Daschle and Pelosi guy in.

Explains why we could be having trouble.

"Fresh Hope for Fat Cats"
he pathetic record of the Federal Election Commission as the designated watchdog against the ravages of big-money politics is only growing worse. Scott Thomas, the stand-out commissioner on the F.E.C. who wants to clamp down on abuses, is to be removed in a stunning decision by the leaders of his own Democratic Party. Mr. Thomas, who is avid about the new McCain-Feingold law's attempt to control the money sluiceway, is to be replaced by Robert Lenhard, a lawyer for the labor movement who was part of the effort to block that law.

This wrongheaded nomination by the Congressional Democratic leaders, Senator Tom Daschle and Representative Nancy Pelosi, seems prompted by the resentment of party forces seething over the fact that Democrats who fought more than Republicans to pass McCain-Feingold also suffered more in the last elections. The law banned the abuse of unlimited "soft money" donations from unions, corporations and fat cats, and Bush Republicans have taken a sizable lead in raising the alternative "hard money" donations.

Wonder how the labor unions in Dennis's district would take to this information.

He had LTV, but has GM, and I believe Ford in his district.

"KUCINICH CAMPAIGN ACCEPTED JAPANESE MONEY FUNNELLED THROUGH OVERSEAS BOOK SALES" is a headline I believe in an American blue collar, labor, auto-producing district, that would raise some eyebrows and probably some clenched fists. Yep. Time to put the boy on the spot at the next Union Hall meeting. Re: internecine warfare, I'll bet Gephardt would be the one to nail his carcass to the wall on this one.

Here are more devastating smoking guns on the web!

http://choice.gaiax.com/www/choice/k/c/kucinich_for_world_peace/main.html

and

http://www.nextftp.com/revolution/Kucinich/support.htm

Again, in Japanese from an overseas website, but with photo of Dennis and a banner urging Japanese to contribute funds. They also incorporate campaign logos from the 'mother site' in the USA, the official Kucinich campaign website. That would show at least tacit acceptance or acknowledgement regarding these tactics.

Pretty bold of those people, right out in the open. How stupid.

It is a shame. Accolades to the first major US news outlet to report on this, though!

They (Fox, Rush, Hannity, Wash Times and others) may well move very slow on it, because if they do not have ANY ONE in house on their staff who can fluently read Japanese, it (these various webpages) will be MEANINGLESS to them.

I can assure you that most US news agencies will be brain dead and insular on this until they can bring in some linguist translators, or otherwise consult with people who can tell them, for them, what it means. They'll be slow in this regard.

I am going to start this story on the Japanese side in Japan in about three hours from now. It should move more fast over there, then perhaps it will catch on here, when a bilingual reporter for one of the major US dailies posted to Tokyo catches it or his Japanese staff alerts him/her to it and then it gets filed in the US as a dispatch from Tokyo.
