I took the Simon Gay Agenda-SCAM -Hook, Line and Sinker.

I took the bait hook, line and sinker about the pro-gay shift in the Simon Campaign. I guest conservatives have been (Huffingtoned/Sold Out) quite a few times and we are pretty sensitive about the RINO's that we have voted for in the past that I think we see them in our sleep. We have been lied to so many times that we don't even believe people when they agree with us.

Please read the letters below this and you will see that we have been taken for a ride on this one.

I will be supporting Bill Simon and better way of showing support is I sent him MONEY !

Send Money NOW not three days before the election!!!

The Davis propaganda team should have waited until just before the end of the election to do this. All this little stunt did is make me mad. Fool me once shame on you fool me twice shame on me.

------------Letter 1----------------------------

I think all of you have heard the recent news flashes about Bill Simon and the gay community. Well, I can assure you that none of it is true.

1. I just received a personal phone call from Bill Simon assuring me that he had nothing to do with the Log Cabin Republican Questionnaire and that he has not changed his views or values.

a. Simon supported Prop 22 and Davis didn't
b. Simon demanded a veto for AB 25 and Davis signed it.
c. Simon believes in marriage only between a man and a women. Contrary to what some have said, Bill does NOT want to give the right of marriage to people of the same sex.
d. Simon is pro-life and Davis actively promotes abortions
e. Simon opposes blanket amnesty for illegal aliens, Davis supports it.
f. Simon believes you are taxed too much, Davis believes you are taxed too little
g. Simon is pro Second amendment, Davis has signed bills against the Second Amendment.
h. Simon supports home schooling and the Davis administration is brow beating parents of home schoolers and threatening them with arrest.

2. Rev. Sheldon has now apologized and will be responding publicly. Hopefully, as publicly as his earlier remarks. Of course, the press will not print any of that news because it does not fit their liberal agendas. (I will forward this when I get it.) As for Randy T., that is another story and there will be news from our campaign about him. Perhaps as early as tomorrow.

3. Simon supporters must keep in mind that this situation is the perfect example of the tactics used by the liberal media and others (who do not have our best interest at heart) to divide the Republican Party in California, cause disarray in the campaign, minimize financial contributions so that Bill cannot get out his message, demoralize volunteers, decrease Republican Voter Registration, and ultimately discourage Republicans from turning out to vote. (This is projected to be a low turnout election which favors Republican candidates. The less Republicans that get out and vote, the better it is for the Democrats.) Having witnessed this latest "go round", it seems we do a very good job of self-destruct. Won't we ever learn?

Below are two letters and an e-mail - one from Bill Simon to Dick Mountjoy, one that Ray Haynes wrote, and an e-mail written by our SFG San Diego County CO-Chairs(North).

Please read these. If you still have questions or concerns, do not hesitate to call. Forward this e-mail to all other Conservatives. It is important that we get out the truth.

------------Letter 2----------------------------

DATE: August 29, 2002
TO: Honorable Dick Mountjoy, President
California Republican Assembly
FROM: Bill Simon
Thank you very much for that very kind letter of support that you have sent out to our conservative supporters across California. You have been an inspirational leader for the conservative cause for so many years that it has been an honor to work with you so closely over the last 18 months.

Despite the sensationalizing by some of the liberal newspapers, I have not changed my position on any of the important moral and social issues facing California. While the campaign sends out answers to hundred of questionnaires, sometimes they may not be as clear as we would like. So I wanted to take this opportunity to keep you abreast of my deeply held beliefs.

I supported Proposition 22 because I believe that marriage should be between a man and a woman. That is a special relationship designed to create a loving and caring environment for families to develop and thrive. I opposed AB 25 and encouraged Governor Davis to exercise his veto power against it; unfortunately, he signed it into law. My opposition to AB 25 is that I am against creating a special class of domestic partnership laws that is defined by sexual orientation or preference. That has been my clear position at all times because I do not believe that other relationships should be elevated to that of marriage.

I hope this clarifies any misunderstandings that may have been created by newspaper coverage. Thanks again for the consistent support and assistance throughout the campaign.

------------Letter 3----------------------------

Dear Friends,

The liberal media are at it again. They are trying to break up the solid support of conservatives for Bill Simon’s candidacy for Governor. Recent press reports indicate a so-called Republican organization is distributing a questionnaire regarding Bill Simon’s position on a host of issues. Unfortunately, many of the questions were awkwardly written and mislead many readers of Bill’s true position on issues.

I talked to Bill Simon directly today. And, he reinforced my strong belief in his candidacy for Governor.

Bill Simon supported Proposition 22 and actively opposed AB 25. On marriage he told me directly, “Many people are cynical about those who seek public office, believing that they will say anything to get elected. Unlike other candidates, I will not alter or shade my position based on what I think you want to hear or because it might help me get elected. In the primary campaign I stated that marriage is an institution that should remain between one man and one woman. And that's what I believe.” That’s the statement he made to me in the primary and the same statement he made to a gay and lesbian organization last month.

Bill Simon is pro-life. No candidate for office in this country has come even close to contributing the kind of money Bill Simon does to Crisis Pregnancy Centers and Unwed Mother's homes. He is a solid supporter of the Second Amendment, and the entire Bill of Rights. Bill Simon opposes blanket amnesty for illegal aliens and supports strict border control. Bill Simon has pledged to not raise taxes as governor.

Let’s not let the liberal media destroy our best chance to elect a no nonsense Conservative as Governor. Join me in supporting Bill Simon for Governor.

Sincerely,
RAY HAYNES
Senator 36th District

------------Letter 4-----------------------------
Dear Conservative Friends,

Looks like you are falling into the 'liberal' media trap. Davis couldn't paint our Candidate as a 'right wing nut' so now they are trying to paint him as a 'pro gay liberal'. Don't you know when you are being manipulated?

The point is that Davis knows his base can't stand him and won't show up at the polls. So he is purposely lobbing atomic bombs at our base to disrupt, sow doubt among ourselves and our Candidate, confuse and demoralize OUR base with the grand plan of depressing our voter turnout...the thing he fears the most. Brilliant strategy isn't it?

Others rewrote the craftily skewed article written by the SF Chronicle (which purposely distorted statements and took them out of context to suit their gay agenda, but more so to destroy our unity) andthen this 'rewrite' was spread to others. They should have checked their facts before spreading and amplifying the distortions.

Very Sincerely,
Dr. MaryRose Consiglio
Dr. Tom Sherman

Big mouths will always look for a reason to badmouth a candidate. Of course, I always believed that it was because Simon had not advocated forced conversion camps for homosexuals that had some people here howling.

Excellent point. I sometimes wonder what kind of country this would be if all the laws were decided by the conservative wing of the Republican party? Would Republicans even be allowed to party? hehe...probably not.

Here's a secret: I don't believe it got noisy to begin with. The headline screamed "whopper."

There will always be some people who will never be happy with any candidate. I often wonder why those people don't run themselves, if they think their platform would be so brilliant.

I think the saddest part of this story was that Rev. Lou Sheldon and his organization was so thrilled and excited to jump on this story and distribute it so fast with their righteously indignant commentary.

With friends like the Agape Press and Lou Sheldon .. who needs enemies ?

Maybe if Jerry brown would've become President, Linda Ronstadt could've moved into the Whitehouse as the First Old Lady.

Hold on a second everybody.
The story was form the start that Simon had
stateed his was for Domestic Partnerships.
The lame logic behind was this business
about not limiting it to sexual relations.
As stated before the law the gay loby
has pushed always has simply stated
that people should be allowed to domestic
partnerships and get the same rights as
marriage.
Simon letter did not state he opposed domestic
partnership laws which the gays wants.
Simon clearly seems to trying to support
gay right but then when speaking to conservatives
deny that he is.
