On weekends? Looks to me like a lot of FReepers talk tough ... and don't hestiate to post their opinions/views here ... but, when push comes to shove ... very few are willing to translate talk to action. That was true during the Clinton years. And, I suspect (due to complacency) it's even more true today with Bush in the White House.

Once upon a time, in a galaxy far, far away (actually, in CA in the early- to mid-70s) there were Nazis who came to public meetings in their spiffy tan uniforms, brown boots, Sam Browns and arm bands, and stood around the perimeter of the room. When someone was speaking about something they didn't like (desegregation being one of them), they would start stomping, speaking loudly, and snapping photos of the rest of us. A few times, some of them tried to follow some of us home.

Scary as hell, of course, but we can't let them intimidate us, whatever hate group they are part of, and we SURE can't let them win by default.

Will it be a war in the streets of our beloved country? If so, it will be a short one in *my* neighborhood, then we'll head out to help you in yours. ;o)

I was amazed by the number of mouth-breathers who wandered over with their protest signs, assuming that if there were brownish people in robes, it must be some of their own. It does confirm my belief that education and communication are key in turning things around.

The same question I ask about the anti-gun rights folks applies here: WHO is backing them? WHO is paying out the amount of money that's being spent to promote the lies and misinformation? Then, WHY?

Perhaps they were filming just in case something awful happened, so that they could catch the bad guys later? Were they filming everyone, or just our little group? The Park Police were wonderful, and the DC police I spoke with were, also.

I want to appologize for not showing up at Luigi's. I got lost. After coming back from the Washington National Zoo I finally found the place with a line a mile long to get in and no parking. After a fine dinner at the Fish Market, I went home.

Safe and sound, belly full and full of satisfaction of a "Job Well Done By All".

Disagree, my Good FRiend...the beauty of FR.com is that a central organizing point is absolutely--and resolutely--unnecessary!! Look how stale the Left's organizations and rallies have become...not so with ours and that's partially due to the fact that we don't have to worry if what we're saying is being ratified by you or JimRob...and it keeps you and JimRob off the hook as well.

Fred, it was an honor!!

The honor was mine. I just got home a few hours ago and haven't read this thread or any of the others. I was without a computer for the past 2 days...I don't know how I'll ever catch up.

I will say this, I caught the local DC news at about 11:16 pm last night, Channel 7, ABC I think. It showed brief shots of our FReeper contingent - I recognized the following, these were close up, but brief shots: Sauropod, Jimmy Valentine's Brother, Grammy Moon, and that young blonde college student girl with the navy blue sweatshirt(federal agency emblem on front?) whose name escapes me, and maybe one other. I'm tired. Will try to catch up in the next few days, not tonight.

This may have been already mentioned on this thread or another. Redundancy is good good.

Great being with all the fine Patriots on Saturday. It was more than fun, and a little weird too. Especially when the New Black Panthers strode by about ten feet in front of me. TgslTakoma got a pic of the head Panther.

Were those guys for real? I caught CSPAN late late last night--ye gods, but I can't stand the sound of demagougery. The young fellow--Casey?--was a bit off the handle as well. Should have left the show to Kristinn--he's got the gentleman's polish and he relies on argument and not bombast and ever-so-tedious chanting.
