Boycott Hollywood Anti-Americans List Updated
http://www.ipetitions.com/campaigns/hollywoodceleb/index.html ^

Posted on 02/07/2003 7:22:37 AM PST by jonalvy44

updated list to include Dustin Hoffman, who recently opened his big mouth...

We the undersigned American Citizens stand against Wealthy Hollywood Celebrities abusing their status to speak for us. We do not believe that they have a clear understanding of how we live, what we fear, and what we support. We believe that celebrities Martin Sheen, Mike Farrell, Tim Robbins, Rob Reiner, Barbara Streisand, and others with them are using their celebrity to interfere with the defense of our country. We believe that Hollywood Celebrities use their wealth to make their own personal issues known while Americans would never have the resources to speak out in this manner. We support President Bush in his efforts to defend our homeland, to defend democracy, and to take any measures to end the threat of terrorism. We do not claim to know more than anyone, especially President Bush. We elect a President who we can trust to make proper decisions based on facts available to him and not available to the rest of us. This is one reason trustworthiness and character is important in the people we elect into office. War is not easy, there are many before us who sacrificed their lives for freedom and if supporting citizens in other countries who cry out for democracy and freedom aids in the war against terrorism we support it. This Statement and its signatures will be published publicly and or delivered to Martin Sheen and Mike Farrell.

Viggo was a BIG disappointment for me, since he's my ultimate "hottie-of-the-month", but I try to keep it in perspective: I like the character he plays - I don't like his political opinions.
So, Aragorn is the ultimate sexy, butt-kicking warrior, and Viggo is just a wimpy poet/actor who doesn't look very handsome outside of his Aragorn persona.

Re whether to boycott or not ... I've found that once I know they are anti-American, I just don't want to watch them anymore. Especially, the obnoxious ones like Martin Sheen, Julia Roberts. I find my mind wandering during their movies or tv shows and wondering how they can be so deluded and hate filled toward a country that has made their privileged lives possible?

So then having lost interest in the plot etc., I find myself just changing the channel or whatever. In other words, their actions result in a self-enforcing boycott for me.

Add Howard Stern to pro military action list. He says "bomb them back to the stone age" or "Kill all anti-americans" atleast once every day on the air.

Wouldn't it have been easier to just say "all of Hollywood" and then name the half dozen conservatives? (the good guys)

Actually, it's not really Hollywood. Who supports Hollywood? Look no further than the acadamy awards night. It's people from Texas, Tennessee, Ohio, Washington, Colorado, Illinios, Indiana, Maine, etc, etc, etc.....They are all there in mass.

good job, you can add this bunch. They all bashed Bush on the way in to the Staples center, especially Brosnan (I'm sorry to say)

AP) (LOS ANGELES) ) It's only rock 'n roll - with a message - as veteran rockers the Rolling Stones turned a free concert into an effort to raise awareness about global warming.

"You know something, we're all here ... for a very good cause, and you should all feel good about yourselves," lead singer Mick Jagger said on stage at the Staples Center on Thursday.

The concert took place in an area that's one of the nation's smoggiest, despite strict statewide standards for motor vehicle emissions. The event was organized by the Natural Resources Defense Council, a nonprofit activist group.

Former President Clinton introduced the Stones with a speech about the dangers of global warming, telling the audience it is up to average citizens to "stop the planet from burning up."

"The reason this concert is important is that the old energy economy that's cheating us as a planet is very well organized, highly centralized, rich as can be and very well politically connected," Clinton said. "And the new energy future is decentralized, entrepreneurial and needs people like you to say, `Give me a clean car, give me solar shingles to put on my roof ... Give me a clean future."'

In introducing the band, Mr. Clinton invoked one of the group's biggest hits: "Even though the Stones once said 'It's only rock 'n' roll' - tonight it's way more than rock 'n' roll," he said.

The band then opened the show with "Start Me Up," followed by "Street Fighting Man" and "You Got Me Rocking." The night was filled with a repertoire of past hits, including "Jumpin' Jack Flash," "Sympathy for the Devil" and "(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction," in which they lament women, consumerism and the world at large.

About 12,000 fans won tickets through an Internet drawing last month, while others received passes through nationwide radio station giveaways.

Among the Internet winners were Ken Fraser, 56, and his wife, Jane, 55, of Lake Forest, who said they were both Rolling Stones fans and supporters of the evening's environmental message.

"As we get older, we get more sympathetic toward the cause," Jane Fraser said. "I hope there's still a planet left for our grandchildren."

The concert brought out a number of celebrities: actors Leonardo DiCaprio, Pierce Brosnan, Cameron Diaz, Lisa Kudrow and director Rob Reiner.

Academy, academy, academy,,,Boy you can tell I don't participate in that event. And I am in Cal.........LOL!

I have found that 95 percent of the people that turn out for the academy awards to gawk at the freaks are not from Hollywood, or Cal.

They are from all points in the country.
