Obama played the gay card in his inaugural address. There is a lot of misconception about homosexuality. Frankly, most of what we hear is based in ignorance. Let’s get to the truth about this issue. This is a very brief summary of our article at http://www.faithfacts.org/christ-and-the-culture/gay-rights. In the original article we cite numerous scientific studies which we invite the reader to investigate. 1. What causes homosexuality? There is no scientific evidence to support the idea that homosexuality is genetic. All such studies that once purported to support that idea of a gay gene have been discredited. There are various factors,...

I thought you might like to learn more about the fellow who boasted he started that wave of boos at your inaugural appearance : Department of Justice Voting Section lawyer Daniel Freeman. Here at PJ Media we’ve been covering Freeman’s partisan enforcement of federal election laws for years . We understand, however, that your duties setting spending levels for federal agencies like the Department of Justice often leave you too busy to keep up with the partisan rot deep inside the civil service at DOJ. If your duties as chair of the House Committee on the Budget permit just a...

Saturday, 19 January 2013 11:30 Pro-Life Events Across Nation Mark 40th Anniversary of Roe v. Wade Written by  Dave Bohon   On January 22, 1973 the U.S. Supreme Court issued its infamous Roe v. Wade decision that effectively granted women the right to “terminate” a pregnancy, thus condemning, at last count, over 50 million pre-born babies to death. One year later, on January 22, 1974, pioneering pro-life leader Nellie Gray launched the first March for Life rally that brought 20,000 pro-life activists together on the steps of the U.S. Capitol to pray, protest, and plan for the overturning of...

On Tuesday afternoon, The Sportsman's Shop in New Holland was the last major gun dealer from Lancaster County still scheduled to attend the Eastern Sports and Outdoor Show in Harrisburg. On Tuesday evening, owner Joe Keffer pulled the plug. "As a member of the Board of Governors of the National Shooting Sports Foundation, I have been working, in good faith, with Reed to find a compromise to allow the show to continue at the caliber to which my fellow exhibitors, manufacturers and the more than 200,000 attendees have come to expect," Keffer wrote on the store's Facebook page. "After nearly...

Smith & Wesson will not attend or support or participate in the 2013 Eastern Sports and Outdoor Show in Harrisburg, Pa. in response to organizers banning the display and sell of tactical-looking firearms often called assault rifles from the show. Smith & Wesson manufacturers a successful line of what it and the industry calls “modern sporting rifles” under the M&P brand name. ... In a news release, James Debney, president and CEO of Smith & Wesson, said: “As a market leader in the firearm industry and an iconic brand that spans 160 years of American history, we believe it is...

In an exchange with former Secretary of State and prominent Obama supporter Colin Powell during NBC's live inauguration coverage on Monday, NBC Nightly News anchor Brian Williams urged Powell to go after Republicans: "General, there's just flat-out hatred out there, too. There's nastiness out there in the land. There's nastiness between these two parties....Let's especially go to the Republican Party....What do they do to widen, if it is in their interest, widen their doorway to membership, to entry?" Powell seized the opportunity to double down on his recent smear of the GOP having a "dark vein of intolerance": "I've been...

Four public colleges and universities: Florida’s Palm Beach State College, Pennsylvania’s Community College of Allegheny County, Ohio’s Youngstown State University, and New Jersey’s Kean University, are all planning to move adjunct and “contingent” faculty members to part-time status in order to avoid an Obamacare provision requiring businesses with 50 or more full-time employees to provide health coverage for at least 95 percent of their workers. **SNIP** Teachers’ associations like AAUP and AFT are bracing for the shift. Next week, AFT will host a webinar for its members addressing “the implications of the Affordable Care Act for contingent faculty.” In the...

  • New Zealand environmental advocate launches campaign to ban cats as pets

    01/22/2013 5:04:37 PM PST · by SMGFan · 15 replies
WELLINGTON, New Zealand – Gareth Morgan has a simple dream: a New Zealand free of pet cats that threaten native birds. But the environmental advocate has triggered a claws-out backlash with his new anti-feline campaign. Morgan called on his countrymen Tuesday to make their current cat their last in order to save the nation's unique bird species. He set up a website, called Cats To Go, depicting a tiny kitten with red devil's horns. The opening line: "That little ball of fluff you own is a natural born killer." He doesn't recommended people euthanize their current cats -- "Not necessarily...

Washington-The Obama administration has delayed a decision on TransCanada Corp´s rerouted Keystone XL oil pipeline until after March, even though Nebraska´s governor on Tuesday approved a plan for part of the line running through his state. "We don´t anticipate being able to conclude our own review before the end of the first quarter of this year," said Victoria Nuland, a spokeswoman at the State Department, which had previously said it would make a decision by that deadline. She said the department would take into consideration approval of the line by Nebraska Gov. Dave Heineman.
