When we first posted this article a month ago, few paid attention as the entire world was gripped in Summer-mania. Now that Summers is out of the picture, and the monetary policy acumen of the former San Fran Fed president are under the spotlight, it is probably an opportune time to recall Janet Yellen's ability to foresee the future heading into the great financial crisis whose five year anniversary took place this weekend. Or rather lack thereof, because as the following excerpt from a 2010 FCIC hearing, noticed first by the NYT, demonstrates, if this is the best Fed head...

Breaking Bad postmortem: Is it all over for Walt? Breaking Bad postmortem: Has Walt corrupted everyone? Need further proof? After Walt picks himself up from the despair of watching Hank's murder, he turns his back once and for all on surrogate family member Jesse. Although he's powerless to stop Jack from taking all but one barrel of his money, Walt won't let the neo-Nazis leave without finishing the job he hired them to do. "If you can find him, we'll kill him," Jack says. "Found him," Walt hisses, revealing that Jesse hadn't run away but rather is hiding under Walt's car. In...

A US Navy commander told Monday how he saw a co-worker shot in the head just a few feet from him, during mass shooting on a Washington base that left at least 12 people dead. Navy officer Tim Jirus told reporters the man from the Washington Navy Yard's maintenance department was felled by gunshots as workers scrambled out of buildings following reports of a shooter on the rampage.

In just two weeks, millions of Americans will become eligible to sign up for the Obamacare exchanges. It will mark the first time millions of voters will have the opportunity to opt into Obamacare, and they will do so with the expectation of receiving benefits in a few short months. Opponents of President Obama’s health care regime can argue about the quality and cost of that care, but entitlement programs are notoriously difficult to unravel once the money starts flowing. To date, there is just one legislative strategy on the table that is geared toward stopping Obamacare before the exchanges...

Physicists have spent a century puzzling over the paradoxes of quantum theory. Now a few of them are trying to reinvent it. If the truth be told, few physicists have ever really felt comfortable with quantum theory. Having lived with it now for more than a century, they have managed to forge a good working relationship; physicists now routinely use the mathematics of quantum behaviour to make stunningly accurate calculations about molecular structure, high-energy particle collisions, semiconductor behaviour, spectral emissions and much more. But the interactions tend to be strictly formal. As soon as researchers try to get behind the...

A 22-year-old man apparently high on drugs and naked from the waist down went on a rampage with a 35-foot boat he stole at the Queen City Yacht Club on Portage Bay in Seattle last night, ramming other boats and docks.

Image courtesy Mandy HowardThere is just so much wrong with this atrocious Obama regime that posting it all in the Most Wanted section would completely overwhelm it. So here we go: By any measure, Barack Obama had head handed to him vis-à-vis Syria: Syrian President Bashar al-Assad gets to stay in power — and keep his chemical weapons for a year — under a Russian-sponsored deal that critics slammed as undermining American leverage in the Mideast. Under the pact reached Saturday by Secretary of State John Kerry and Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, Assad must submit an inventory of his...

Last Friday, just as U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry and Russian Foreign Minister, Sergei Lavrov were working out the final details of an agreement on the Syrian crisis, the Russian media went into high gear starting its drive for awarding the Nobel Peace Prize to Russian President Vladimir Putin. PravdaTV, a media outlet friendly to the Kremlin, produced and distributed a video clip opening with a scene of Putin tenderly caring for a Siberian tiger cub while the narrator says, “What does a peace prize mean, if not the prevention of war.” Scenes of Putin on location in the...

An actual War on Women is ablaze with such intense heat that, if the majority of women in America were emotionally connected with even the most basic of Benghazi truths, their reaction might bring the Obama administration to its' knees. The mothers, wives, sisters and daughters of the savagely murdered Americans in Benghazi are being victimized, violated and emotionally raped by one of the most ruthless gangs of female political operatives in US history. Please look at this lineup of self-proclaimed "champions of women's rights." These politicians have displayed nothing but gross contempt for the long suffering women of Benghazi....

The down-on-his-luck man who turned in a backpack containing $2,400 in cash, nearly $40,000 in traveler's checks, and a Chinese passport to its rightful owner at a Massachusetts mall over the weekend will receive a "special citation" from Boston police. This would be a great time for good karma to prove it exists.

An attacker pummeled a bus passenger so hard he smashed the bones in his face after calling the victim a “cracker” in Manhattan – marking the second time in two days that people appeared to be randomly targeted in racial tirades against white people, authorities said. In the latest incident, the suspect passed a 31-year-old rider on the M60 bus riding through Harlem, on West 127th Street, between Amsterdam Avenue and Morningside Drive, around 2:45 p.m., Friday, when he shouted the racial slur and punched the victim in the face, breaking his nose and eye socket, cops said.

California is on the verge of becoming the first state to impose a full ban on hunting with lead bullets -- with environmentalists and gun-rights advocates squaring off as Gov. Jerry Brown decides whether to sign the legislation. The state already has a ban on lead-bullet hunting in eight counties with an endangered condor population. But the new proposal, overwhelmingly approved this month by the Democrat-controlled General Assembly, would impose a statewide ban on all hunting.

Why does the Navy rely on civilian police to protect the area where chief of naval operations lives ? The White House is controlling the media and using the Washington Metro Police and the Park Service to tell the story...this is so they can recieve OBAMACARE funds for their shock troops Can one imagine west point being unable to police its campus .... the Navy Shore Patrol has apparently been called down like we saw in Benghazi so OBAMA can make a point about firearms...disguisting

TV ads tout testosterone treatments for "low T," but surprising new research shows a different hormone may play a role in less sex drive and more fat as men age. Estrogen — the female hormone — is needed by men, too, and the study gives the first clear evidence that too little of it can cause certain "male menopause" symptoms. "A lot of things we think are due to testosterone deficiency are actually related to the estrogen deficiency that accompanies it," said Dr. Joel Finkelstein of Massachusetts General Hospital. He led the U.S.-government funded study, which appears in Thursday's New...

SOS Political Director Larry Ward: Thank you for speaking today, and thank you for offering House Resolution 36, this is a very important resolution. We do need a Watergate style Select Committee and I do agree that if Congress does not act that they are then complicit in the cover up. My question is about the Discharge Petition that Steve Stockman issued to basically promote and to go around Boehner in terms of getting it to the floor because Boehner has blocked it, and said he won’t move it and is digging in his heels. So it doesn’t matter that...

After over a DOZEN attempts to post JUST the link to this exhaustive and complete refutation of Mark Levin's “solution” to our current situation, I gave up and, because this is a most serious conversation, opted to post the entire essay. Do us all a favor and READ her material before attempting to discuss – or discredit – her customarily thorough work. Thanks. **************************************** Constitutional Convention: Mark Levin Refuted By Publius Huldah The Constitutional Convention of 1787 What Mark Levin says in “The Liberty Amendments” in support of an Article V convention is not true.1 On one side of this...
