Imagine the scenario: Hundreds of thousands are lying dead in the streets of Boston after a massive anthrax or nerve gas attack. The president immediately calls in the lawyers to determine whether the attacking state is in compliance with the NPT. If it turns out that the attacker is up-to-date with its latest IAEA inspections, well, it gets immunity from nuclear retaliation. (Our response is then restricted to bullets, bombs and other conventional munitions.)
However, if the lawyers tell the president that the attacking state is NPT noncompliant, we are free to blow the bastards to nuclear kingdom come.
This is quite insane. It’s like saying that if a terrorist deliberately uses his car to mow down a hundred people waiting at a bus stop, the decision as to whether he gets hanged or 100 hours of community service hinges entirely on whether his car had passed emissions inspections.
Apart from being morally bizarre, the Obama policy is strategically loopy. Does anyone believe that North Korea or Iran will be more persuaded to abjure nuclear weapons because they could then carry out a biological or chemical attack on the United States without fear of nuclear retaliation?
The naivete is stunning.

The light bulb thing is stupid and I feel will be repealed nationally within the near future. (probably not this year)
I could easily adapt to living off-the-grid, but my wife could not. I could construct a system with wind turbine, photovoltaic panel and batteries that would work. For all but AC. For that an earth burmed home would help. It is doable now. With natural gas available it would be even easier. (cooking, AC, refrigerator)
Lighting is not an issue, anyone can construct a 12 volt LED lighting system. The reason they are so high now is the need to build the power supply into the bulb assembly that converts 110 VAC to lower voltage and to DC.
It will come.
It is time for the Federal Government to be cut in 1/2. Yes, in 1/2. I doubt that even that is enough reduction.
I hope the lightbulb thing is repealed. I have an old home with some antique light fixtures and can’t imagine the squiggly lightbulbs in them, lol.
Four more years of Obama and we may all be living off the grid! I know what it’s like to lose power after hurricanes and it isn’t fun. I used LED lights on my Christmas tree for the first time this year because they are so bright and pretty.
I agree totally about the government, my town is scrambling right now getting ready for the school and college cutbacks. They kinda got used to living on government “welfare” too, and the kids learned even less........

A couple of points for your opinions:
1. Just watched Tim Geithner - he looks just like a large rat! I mean the rodent not his political affiliation.
His face, nose, eyes, eyebrows and ears. A cartoonist making a serious sketch of him would show this even more clearly. Even the way he holds his head.
And all Geithner insisted on with Chris Wallace is we MUST take Default off the table for at least 18-months! Not let it interfere with the election!! He repeated and repeated this as the criterion that MUST be off the table. Thus removing this huge impediment to Obambi’s re-election.
Also he insisted that Congress decides who gets paid, which checks go out, if there is a default, not his department! Not the president! This appears to be a lie and a lead into evading and avoiding any blame when Obambi fails to send out some very important checks to the people like the millitary.
Or even issuing “reduced amount” checks to make the Obambi point while trying to avoid blame. To share the burden!
2. We tried to evaluate Obambi’s popularity in an indirect poll.
On E-Bay, we searched for Obama. This brought up quite a number of Oba-Hussein memorabilia vendors and a broad variety of Obama items.
Would you try this for yourself, please. There were NO BIDDERS for any of the items! Even for items with only a few hours left to bid on them.
What kind of an indicator would this be on popular opinion of the depth of support for Obambi if nobody wants things that have his image on them? Or more accurately wants to buy them.
Clearly, it’s not a professional poll but would you think this is an indicator of some kind?
Want to bet once this gets to Obamabot ears the sales will rocket to protect his image?

I thought I was going to scream if that jerk said default one more time. Why didn’t Boehner explain that we will not default on the debt. All the dummies out there now believe the GOP is going to let us default.

Few know that Geithener and Obama go back a long way. Geitheners banking parents ans Obama’s Grandmother were very close during their “banking years.” Tim is doing EXACTLY what Obama tells him to. Tim is lying also on the effects of default. LIES.
2) Obama has lost all of hois bully pulpit by continuing to actually MAKE SURE that we default. The entore GOP now knows that Obama wants default.
If Cut Cap and Balanced is brought off its tabled status in the Senate, and a debate is held on it this week, it has a very good chance of passing.We only ned 4 or 5 Dem Senators to back the bill, its very possible.Then we will see if Obama will continue to mpove for default, for it will give Obama more power, rumopr is that Obama will unilaterally act pursuant to the 14th amendment to restore the full faith and credit that default ( falsely) threatens.
Obama had better sign the bill if it poasses, or he will loose all support from his public.He might even be impeached.

Around the start of the Iraq war (2003), Fox News had a news video of a place in London, at some kind of tri-cornered intersection, with a volatile islamic protest of some kind going on. I saw the video twice. THe other half saw it once, on a broadcast by Shepherd Smith.
At the end of the video, a non-native UK Arab in a long, white robe, white cap, black hair and black beard, came walking up to the camera, shaking his index finger, and said, “You’ll see. We’re going to turn the White House black. (other sentences here that were about islam and America that I don’t quite remember go here). We’re going to...,” at which point someone to his left must have motioned or said something to him, as he looked in that direction, suddenly cut off his rantings, turned and walked back to the protest, shouting.
Even Shep Smith looked rattled. I knew, I KNEW in my bones that the guy knew something. Black is not only the race of 0bama, it is the traditional color of islamic revolution. “The Black Flag of revolution” was used by Khomeni, for example.
