My Dragon Fly and Me
If I could be a Dragon Fly and wing my way through the sky I would never be shy just me and my Dragon Fly!
By moonlight we ride the wind chase the comets tail for fun by day we would hide from the sun our fragile wings would come undone
On darkest nights we would use fireflies as our guide we would dip and we would glide through the heavens open wide and scatter diamonds in the night sky my Dragon Fly and me...
And we would wing past our lovers silent in the night... to kiss their face in our flight much to their surprise and delight my Dragon Fly and me in sight...
Such a view do we share away up here in the air of breezes soft through our hair my Dragon Fly and me a pair...

Kisses in Twilight
The dragonfly so deftly seems to hover in its flight,
And haunts the dusky twilight without dread of coming night.
It searches out a flower and inspects it for perfection,
And then it stamps approval with the lightest genuflection.
Approaching with a silent tread to perform a quiet duty,
It touches down upon the fragile thing of evanescent beauty.
Respectfully, it nears and then descends upon the tip,
With half-a-dozen kisses on the powder-covered lip.

Hmmmm....browsing the forum list, I saw a new Dragonflies' Lair thread and thought I'd try to come up with something for the first page.
I opened the thread, read Ms. Feather's signature piece, then moved on down to Bob's offering.
If y'all need me, I just filled the bin with lots of paper and I'm going to the store for another ream. I'll be busy for a month trying to come even halfway close to Bob's masterpiece.
IOW, Bob, that is truly beautiful. Well done.

" Well, I could go looking..."Sure you could ...
Stone
Stolid, and solid, and silent,
It waits. It sleeps and waits.
Begrudgingly, it moves aside,
With force that penetrates.
Then it settles down again,
With glaring slow disdain.
And when the time is right,
It rushes to cause pain.
How savage is its stony heart,
How lonesome its non-life.
How dull the intellect that forms,
When stone is made a knife.
Abrasion takes the edge away,
Except for certain classes,
Dark of heart and smooth to touch,
Fine-edged obsidian glasses.
Not just one thing but many,
As is our flesh and bone,
Be careful that the heart in you,
Is not one made of stone.

Gathered Along the Way
Mist silent soft swirls in soft curtains in the mind
revealing, and concealing, all that we might find
like a magic lantern show of memories sublime
in delicate shades of thought, on the screen of time
A glimpse, and then its gone, as if never there
yet it remains with us, stored within with care
moments stored, images of life and strifes bite
and we sort them out throughout the night
A cornucopia of remembered things, some so clear
and each we keep, for each cost us, oh so very dear
such is the treasures of this passage we endure now
from there to then, in spite of all, we make it, somehow

Thanks Bob, for your poem. Very interesting.

Gathered Along the Way, is exquisite work, I see wisps of gossamer floating around in a gentle breeze, stirring up vague, yet beautiful memories, some more obscure than others.
Well done.

Ah, yes, and happy Monday to you. ;)
To: HiJinx
Always nice to see you in the Lair.
Bring your reams of paper
sharpen your pencils thin
when the muse flutters by
grab her on a whim
jot down those inspiring lines
build them one by one
listen very carefully for the wind
she is singing you a song
feel the warmth of inspiration
in the Lair, just on a whim.

A word so chosen set in place
a thought carefully fixed there
another word set and fixed fair
and you take up the poems pace
You wonder as to the next word
fitting each with wonder and worry
building a thing you can not hurry
shaping it, absorbing it as heard
Wondering if others will like it
just as sudden not giving a damn or care
its yours, just let them do better, or as fair
then they will appreciate a bit

A Red Red Rose a poem by Robert Burns
O my Luve's like a red, red rose
That's newly sprung in June;
O my Luve's like the melodie
That's sweetly played in tune.
As fair art thou, my bonnie lass,
So deep in luve am I;
And I will luve thee still, my dear,
Till a' the seas gang dry:
Till a' the seas gang dry, my dear,
And the rocks melt wi' the sun;
I will luve thee still, my dear,
While the sands o' life shall run.
And fare thee weel, my only Luve,
And fare thee weel awhile!
And I will come again, my Luve,
Tho' it ware ten thousand mile.

night, as a thief comes on cats paws
and I unknowingly do gently drift off
in Stygian cloak enfolding soft darkness
as each of this night's dreams entwine
with all the other odd places and realities
and other times, each oh so truly grand
I wonder at the amazing images to hand
each so unique and rare, as each I seize
gasping at those that cross the line
startling and addictive I must confess
others so fanciful my cap I must doff
defying rigid forms and logic's laws
