RUSH: A Way You Can Help - Tell Your Local Station and EIB Advertisers
RushLimbaugh.com ^ | 10-15-2003 | Rush Limbaugh

Posted on 10/15/2003 9:30:04 AM PDT by new cruelty

Tens of thousands of you have written the Maha Rushie to show your support, and his gratitude to each of you is profound. You have offered your best wishes and your prayers. Many of you have asked what you can do. And there is a way you can help. While Rush is away, stay tuned to your local affiliate radio station, listen, and participate as always.

Tell them you're listening. You can tell us, too, at a special email address we have created: DittosRush@RushLimbaugh.com. Write us and we'll publish a sampling of the e-mails we receive. New! Send an e-mail to EIB advertisers right here.

I've taken to listening to sports talk, and am enjoying it a helluva lot more.

Me too CP.

It helps that the KC Chiefs are 6 and 0. :)

"I seem to remember him actually using Chris Matthews at some time in the past"

Now that would be fun. :)

I feel for ya!

A good coach makes all the difference. The Chiefs and the Cowboys are proof of that. The Lions finally got a decent one so maybe they will be a good team in my lifetime as well! lol

Speaking of the Chiefs, I once had the pleasure of having Mo Moorman pass out drunk and fall off a beer pallet - all 300 pounds of him - right on me (I was lounging on an empty one, he was on top of the full one). Took two guys to haul him off, and we just let him lay there on the concrete.

I loaded trucks at his beer distributor one summer. Great job, great pay, and he always had free beer on tap for the employees - so it became party central during my shift (I was on 2nd). Guys would float in every night from wherever, and would hang out and drink beer. The other funny thing was that he didn't care how much you drank on the job either, so long as you got the job done and didn't destroy too much (it was routine to forget your forks and spear pallets if you had too much to drink - I did that a few times. Mo himself would knock over two pallets at a time, but never really cared).

He's slowed down now, though - probably has learned some basic notions of workplace safety *chuckle*.

That Super Bowl ring of his was awesome. Huge sucker.

Please post a list of advertisers. I listen every day, but am not at my desk all the time and miss a lot of it.
I do have the Bose radio though.

Thanks.

Yes, it's gonna be a tough go for Rush but I am confident he has the
grit and determination to come out of this new and improved !!

And it's spelled Smerconish.

HAH. Thanks for the correction on the name and for the broadcast lineup. I like most of 1210's lineup save for Katz. He just rubs me the wrong way. I'll check out 710 as you suggest.

The desperation sets in.

BS. When Rush comes back, everything will be back to normal. There is no one, NOT ONE PERSON, who is anywhere near as good as Rush is on the radio. Many have the same or similar message, but range from tolerable to terrible. Rush is outstanding and quality rises.

He's not an ax murderer; he didn't cheat on his wife; he's not into child porn; and he's not out snorting up his income. He's addicted to painkillers, something that cost him dearly (his hearing, and to some extent reputation), and he will have to deal with all that. I'm not going to say there is nothing wrong with an addiction to painkillers, but truly, if Rush's actions were the worst actions of any public figure, we'd live in a much better world.

Rush should have been cultivating a *regular* guest host for his audience, as Carson had with Joan Rivers and Leno. Someone the audience actually looks forward to when Rush is away. I guess he used to have that with Sean Hannity.

I was wracking my brain trying to think of somebody appropriate that wasn't already tied up. I suppose he could try Coulter, but she comes across terribly on the radio, and has a little problem with self restraint if there isn't a camera or a live audience. He could maybe try a pol - Gingrich would probably be a lot of fun.

Dear former "eib" advertisers

Mr Limbaugh kinda lost me when he referred to the not-yet cold Mr Kurt Cobain as "just another dead doper."

This while himself weighing in at 350 pounds, talking about his own ["I inhaled"] "past" experiences with marijuana and serial sucking cheroots and all the while rabbiting on about his own delusionally-fantasized "formally" nicotine-stained fingers.

Object lesson in Mr Limbaugh's example, for me, is that I not judge lest I be judged and that I had best sow only that I am prepared to reap.

Object lesson here for you is that you lie down with dogs only if you like sharing your select comfort with fleas. [Although I already, by far, prefer Dunlopillo]

Be like me and wish Mr Limbaugh a nice retirement with lots of hours in which to overcome hypocracy and to practice such humility -- and whatever drug-free time -- as he is ever able to achieve.

And advertise with Mr Michael Savage on the Savage Nation!

I'll be listening!

Best ones -- Brian

Nice pretend ["I'll be back"] pic of Mr Limbaugh.

Best way to "help" him, though, will be to afford him the dignity of the consequences of his own actions.

[Just another dumped doper!]

Consider how conflicted Rush must have been, knowing he was taking all those pills addictively. His reported self-admission to detox indicates that he did want to quit, long before he was "outed." In my opinion, the "outing" may turn out to be one of the best things that ever happened to him.

Yeah, I saw from your previous posts that you've written him off. I don't know what the future might hold for him.

Rush messed up, no doubt. Before our company closed the plant I worked at, I used to listen to him and I liked his show. He put the Libs in their place. I wasn't his biggest fan, but I was disappointed when I found out his problems.

I'm hoping he gets his life in order. Whether his show succeeds in the future, who knows ? He'll have a long road back, most likely ...

Because the GOP dropped him a long time ago. What Bush did was a mere token - one most of us would never see, but a mere token just the same. Rush has been on a down slide for a long time. It goes along with "fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me."
