The game has not changed, we face the same enemy, same challenges. The Beast never dies!

President Reagan faced down the Soviets and ended the cold war, but the Beast is still with us. It simply changes form. Whether it appears in the form of Bolshevism, Nazism, fascism, communism, Islamofascism, etc, it is the same enemy: Totalitarianism. The all powerful state.

Today we are fighting Islamic terrorism. It's just another example of the Beast rearing its ugly head in its never-ending quest to destroy freedom. The Beast cannot co-exist with free people nor we with it.

We also see the Beast trying to make inroads into America through radical feminism, homosexualism, abortionism, radical environmentalism, creeping socialism, illegal immigration, etc.

The goal is to demoralize and erode away our will and ability to fight by destroying the traditional family unit, destroying our moral society, denying us our freedom of religion, freedom of speech, right to peaceable assembly, right to keep and bear arms, our right to life and right to self governance. The Beast must rule and must rule with an iron fist. Tyranny, totalitarianism is the game.

While we are at war with an obvious foreign enemy that attacks with fire and bombs, we have another not so obvious enemy here at home that aids and abets the known foreign enemy.

We must not allow this domestic enemy to destroy us from within. The enemy I'm speaking of erodes away our constitution, our traditions, our society. It infiltrates and controls our government departments and agencies at every level. Infiltrates our public institutions, schools, churches, news media, entertainment industry, corporate entities, especially our political parties.

I'm speaking of the old enemy of Marxism/communism, more well known here at home as socialism/liberalism. It uses government enforced tools of radical feminism, homosexualism, radical environmentalism, abortionism, racism, atheism, confiscatory taxation, social security, medicare, welfare, redistributionism, compulsory government education, compulsory unionism, overburdening regulation, and many other forms of government overstepping, expansion, intrusion and abuse.

And I'm directly speaking of the primary American home of socialism/liberalism and the party that champions all of the above isms and includes them in their party platform, and in addition to all of the above also directly aids and abets the foreign enemy: the Democrat Party.

Not to name names, but I'm speaking of Kennedy, Schumer, Clinton, Reid, Pelosi, Waxman, Kerry, Gore, Dean, McKinney, Boxer, Feinstein, Feingold, and the list goes on and on and on. And we'll throw in the McCains and Specters, et al, from our side of the aisle for good measure.

We readily recognize all of the above as enemies of our constitution and enemies of self-governance and freedom and we band together to fight them and their partners in crime, otherwise known as the mainstream media, especially when they willingly and knowingly provide aid and comfort to the foreign enemy.

We recognize them when they throw up the big issues of abortionism, feminism, homsosexualism, environmentalism, redistributionism, and get up close and personal with their in your face perversions.

We recognize them as the enemy when they take away our rights, take away our guns, take our tax dollars, take our families, our children, deprive us of our freedom of religion, freedom of speech, etc.

We recognize them as the enemy when they use the ACLU and other radical anti-freedom legal organizations against us.

We recognize them as the enemy when they use their organized labor unions against us.

We recognize them when they use International ANSWER and other socialist/communist fronts against us.

We recognize the enemy when they use liberal activist judges against us to get around the constitution and or to overrule the will of the people as expressed at the ballot box.

Now what I want to know is, why do we fall to pieces and eat our own when it comes to the issue of illegal immigration? Hmmmmm?

It's the same liberal/socialist/Marxist/communist groups and people that we've been fighting all along. It's the same enemy using the same tools!

The game has not changed! It's the same old enemy!

The radical Marxist/socialists are behind the illegals.

The same radical feminist/homosexualist/abortionist/environmentalist antiwar pinko communist union thug that joins any other leftist protest is right back there helping the illegal immigrant gain entry into America.

And they're using the same divide and conquer techniques. They infiltrate our political parties and organizations. They plant disinformation bombs and sow the seeds of political discontent. They are masters in the use of propaganda and rabble rousing.

Recognize the enemy for what he is and do not allow them to use divisive issues to destroy our conservative movement. We are winning. We must not be sidetracked by an issue that will be solved in due time as we elect more conservative members to our government and continue replacing liberal activist judges with constitutionalists.

I'm going to respectfully disagree with our founder and kind host. I guess that's predictable given that I'm one of very few Democrats at FR who openly post as such. However, in truth, it's more because I believe that Mr. Robinson has missed the more basic problem that conservatives face.

Conservatives seem to have forgotten that the underlying idea in any political debate is to convince those who might not necessarily agree with you of the veracity of your arguments. Preaching to the converted or the nearly converted allows you to keep what you already had. If that.

Unfortunately, conservatives have become very comfortable in spending their time preaching to the long since converted and resorting to fear-mongering polemic as primary means of discourse. Are there some horrible threats facing our nation such as those listed by Mr. Robinson? Of course. And the vast majority of people posting or lurking at FR, including myself, recognize that.

But what are we as conservatives doing to convince those who don't necessarily agree with us? Here is what Mr. Robinson said in his first post:

And here are a smattering of taglines I saw this morning at FR:

"Help control the Leftist population. Have them spayed or neutered."

Stand back for a second and consider how such comments appear to someone who is not already amongst the conservative converted. Do these comments persuade? Do they convince nonconservatives of the veracity of our political philosophy? Do they provide a positive alternative?

Please understand, my intent here is not to single out specific FReepers or Free Republic. This type of commentary is also widespread and pervasive on talk radio, FoxNews, and other forums where the conservative political philosophy is generally favored.

I guess we can take some thin comfort in the fact that our opposition tends to resort to similar types of techniques. And it isn't terribly effective for them. But be assured that there is a great amount of philosophical and political conversion being acomplished amongst the populace at large.

What the majority is being converted to is the politics and philosophy of Despair. A belief that our system of self-government is broken beyond repair, that their vote is meaningless, that the prevailing political philosophies (liberalism and conservatism) are both nasty and extreme, and that decent people shouldn't even consider having anything to do with politics.

There is no doubt that George $oreA$$ and his many pseudo non profits financed the mass street marches on 1 May. Many of the illegal aliens marching carried professionally done signs in English. Signs that many of them could not read. Millions of $'s were probably spent on the coordination of the rabble in the street, signs and manipulation of the MSM.

There appears to be similiar well coordinated group of pseudo anti Immigration trolls on Free Republic. This group tries to turn any postive thread into a bash GW thread because of the illegal aliens. Many of this group wrap themselves with Ronald Reagan, names, quotes and how he was the greatest president of all. When their posts/replies are checked, most of them have never posted a single positive comment about GW and the Republican party. That behavior is just the opposite of President Reagan's. He would never destroy President Bush, his cabinet members and congressional Republics over any issue. Yet these so called Reagan fans work 24/7/365 on Free Republic to destroy basically every Republican in office.

Richard Poe labeled these pseudo conservatives years ago as the left wing's Electronic Brownshirts. Their remarks and name calling of our President often come from the vile left wing blogs. Often, it is impossible to tell the difference in the venom spewed here by these self labeled {Walk on Water Conservatives) from the venom spewed by a DU troll, who is often zotted within minutes of posting the same remarks.

Any so called conservative, who wants $inator Hildebea$t elected to teach Republicans and Americans a lesson may be more dangerous than known Islamofascists.

If $inator Hildebea$t becomes president, we can kiss Free Republic goodbye and any other conservative voice/site goodbye. Then, we can kiss America goodbye. No problem Mr. Dave. I know what you mean. My sentiments in the post of origin were being taken further and further out of context with every recycling, that I just had to speak up.

In my original post, I question whether we must suffer another Carter to enjoy another Reagan. This is not what I want or advocate, any more than a weather forecaster wants tornadoes. But, when you see repeating mistakes of the past, I have to wonder what lays in store for us.

That just isn't true. Since the beginning this country has had a two party system. First the Democrat-Republican Party vs the Federalists. Then, starting in 1832 it was the Democrat Party vs the Whigs. Finally, since about 1854 it has been the Democrat Party vs. Republican Party. Things haven't really changed since then. Keep in mind that in 1854 there were only 31 states in the Union. Yet the two party system has barely changed in almost 150 years. And there has never been a competitive third party.

Your definition of amnesty is irrelevant. What Reagan did in 1986 was amnesty. That is not what Bush is proposing. The Senate and the House must agree on the final bill before the President signs it into law. We are a LONG way from that point, and you act like it is already a done deal. A little premature if you ask me.

While I largely agree with the rest of your fine post I must say it isn't the Dems who are dividing us on the issue of illegal immigration. That responsibility lies with the President and a large numbers of GOP Senators.
