It is becoming increasingly likely that the polls and surveys we are seeing today have a similar fundamental flaw; they are all vulnerable to collapse because of the agenda of John Boehner and the rest of the GOPe (including the Chamber of Commerce.)
The advantages held by Republicans today will be distant memories next November. Nevertheless, the vicious uncalled-for attacks on conservatives by John Boehner, Peter King, John McCain, and their like will not be forgotten. They will become rallying cries to fight against the Republican Party next year.
Those who are tempted to think that since conservatives have nowhere else to go, Republicans will win by default, ought to reconsider. Boehners insistence upon waving amnesty as a red flag in the face of conservatives will lead to the evaporation of the GOPs base support overnight.
The Republicans are fooling themselves into believing that the mere word Democrat attached to an opponent will bring them easy victories, because it wont do anything of the sort after amnesty. To the contrary, Republicans who vote for amnesty will carry a scarlet A on their foreheads; and being backed by The Chamber of Commerce will be a one way ticket to unemployment.
Republicans connected to amnesty will get no base support and no votes of gracias from newly-minted Democrats.
If the tone of this essay conveys the message that amnesty will bring about a big election night for Democrats and the beginning of the end for the Republican Party, Ive made my case.

You make some good points .but I would quibble with you around the margins on a few things.
While a passed amnesty bill would tamp down some turn out, out in the world outside of FR and so on, the concern about Obama Care is probably 10X what it is about amnesty .and the reality of Obama Care is now 1000X what it was in 2010.
As for the Ryan Murray bill, I have no disagreement with yout at all .but that will not be an issue in 2014 to speak of.
That rah-rah stuff would work, perhaps, if you were coaching an athletic team. But, I don’t suppose that they’ve ever erected a monument to a realist either. I reckon things depend on how well you trust your fellow man to act appropriately.
But you are using a straw argument via over simplification. Nothing is the "same thing" any more incumbents are in trouble in primaries, which NEVER happened before about 2009. The Tea Party is active, which was launched in 2009. While there is resistance from the GOP e, there is a palpable and powerful force confronthing them .ala Cruz, Paul, Lee, etc ..and never before have we seen a single piece of legislation that will effectively end the country Obama CAre .signed in 2010. NOTHING NOTHING NOTHING is the same.
So with due respect, your entire argument is a false choice. I will join Cruz, Lee and others in the good fight, fully realizing many of our enemies also wear the "R" - I get it
.that;s hardly a news flash or an original thought.
False choice there’s not just “rah rah” or the type pessimism portrayed in this article. Not buying the premise.
There’s something called steely resolve that has been part of everything major ever accomplished in world history. - and it would not fall under either your rah rah choice or Coach Collin’s defeatism.
By design.
When you go to the blogs, the forums, and the discussion sites it is obvious that everyone - except the GOPe that is - is aware of this. The dhimmicrats are exploiting it even now and the focus on the "Republican civil war" will reach a fever pitch by election day.
We are destined to spend many days "wandering the wilderness" and we have the GOPe to thank.
Do you really feel it was better to have Obama as president rather than a mormon?
“The establishment GOP are not interested in gaining or holding majorities in either house. They are content on not being challenged by the liberal media by going along with the liberals agenda. They consider conservatives their enemies and the liberals their friends.”
Well said. We are awash in quislings and fifth columnists.
No, I do not but I think you indicated that you did. But I do have two questions for you?
A: What does Mormon have to do with it .really?
B: Anything would be better than a follower of black liberation theology, a blatantly marxist and racist cult.
“Theres something called steely resolve that has been part of everything major ever accomplished in world history.”
Truman was President when I was born. Perhaps during the Eisenhower and Reagan Administrations did I see that “steely resolve.” But, only from a few. It would be nice to see it again before I’m flaccid and toothless!
I figured I didn’t need a /s tag.
Before the election there were many who said just that - it would be better to have Obama than a mormon.
Not all disliked him because of his religion. Many felt he was much too liberal based on legislation and court rulings in MA. They chose to ignore the 95% of the legislature and courts in that state controlled by Democrats.
When Ross Perot ran he was hearlded as a problem solver but turned out to be doing nothing but urinating in the melting pot. There never was an explanation or a demand to explain how or what he would do once elected. Worse yet after losing was never to be heard from again. Wether those who supported him learned anything in this exercize in frustration and futility is another question.
Let’s go back to Bush Da Foist loss that left those questions unanswered in a campaign the GOPES (gop elite snobs) ran where the Pee-Rot effort siphoned off an amazing 20% of the vote.
The giant sucking sound one heard as the election results began tumbling in was the Pee-rot results. But if anyone took a good look at that vote, while the democrat party which was later to enter into a formalized marriage with the, one world Marxist,(commmunists), Godless ones and become todays Demo-Com party. And took the Captain’s seat.
Yet that vote expressed dissatisfaction with both political partys at that time and that dissatisfaction has grown.
But as before the GOPES in leadership of the opposition political party called the Republicans don’t want no part of the “great dissatified”.
Instead they’re pitching a “bi-partisan” purse massage which would come into effect long after those who supported this, “bi-partisan” the bill is in the mail shell game ,leave the scene will remain past due and unpaid.
Where’s the difference ?
Amnesty will wipe out any advantages the Republicans have right now.
It will signify that Republicans do not represent real America, but the moneyed interests of Wall Street, the Chamber of Commerce, and the special interests lobbies.
The Paul Ryans and John McCains do not give a damn for real Middle America. They only talk to their moneyed power players. Amnesty is what these power players want, and they will get it. You voice doesn’t count. Your job is just to pay the taxes to support this huge new welfare class.
Once solidly red states like Virginia, Georgia, and Arizona, are now turning blue because of the huge population waves of Hispanics and south Asians who mock the immigration laws and get rewarded by democrats and RINOs.
You really can't compare 2010 with 2014. I participated in the huge Tea Party Sept 12, 2009 March on Washington. The issue was not just Obamacare, but Big Government writ large. The historic 2010 midterms that allowed the GOP to regain control of the House have been a disappointment. The GOPe has done little to slow down the growth of government and the size of the debt. And now the GOPe is demonizing the Tea Party along with the Dems.
This will not bode well for 2014. Why support GOP control over Congress when the GOP has proven to be so feckless with its control over the House? The GOPe is far more comfortable in kicking the can down the road and avoiding confrontation.
Where has the GOP been when it comes to allowing the President to violate the Constitution whether it is changing the law on Obamacare or using Executive orders to implement a "backdoor amnesty" for the Dreamers or allowing the EPA to target the coal industry? These are impeachable offenses, but the GOP would rather ignore them or try to pass legislation after the fact to rubber stamp what Obama has done. Cantor's impending GOP version of the Dream Act is one such example as well as the GOP wanting to pass legislation to fix Obamacare.
As for the Ryan Murray bill, I have no disagreement with yout at all .but that will not be an issue in 2014 to speak of.
It will be used by the Dems to divide the GOP. The more that comes out about what is in the bill will make it more of an issue, especially for those Reps that voted for it. The cutting of the COLA increases for certain veteran pensions will be an issue even though both parties now favor a fix, which will be probably be done. It shows how easy it is to change these promised cuts down the road. Ryan owns it along with the rest of the GOP House leadership. I guess you have to pass the bill before you find out what is in it.
The Dem strategy for 2014 will be to accentuate the positive on Obamacare pointing out its benefits, admit that it has flaws that need to be fixed just like other major programs that were rolled out like SS, Medicare, and the Prescription Drug Program, and to blame Reps for not being responsible partners to implement the fixes. They will remind the public that Obamacare will not be repealed as long as Obama is in the WH. And they will say that the Reps are tilting at windmills with their repeal rhetoric. It will be mend it, don't end it.
The longer Obamacare is in place, the deeper the roots will be in the economy and the more difficult it will be to replace it. The Dems will move ahead willing to take short term political losses with the expectation that in the long term, Obamacare will make their vision of Big Government and the expanded welfare state a permanent reality.
Many of us here said that the reelection of Obama in 2012 would ensure that Obamacare would be fully implemented and impossible to reverse and that as Obama stated himself, would lead to the single payer system. That is where we headed and that will be the real fix.
Kinder, gentler progressives are still progressives.
Kinder, gentler marxists are still marxists.
Those rinos of the kinder, gentler GOPe are still demonrats, however they label themselves to win elections.
The kinder, gentler illusion doesn't have much shelf life in big Guvco tyranny, which rarely stay kind or gentle after the election.
You underestimate the resistance of the GOPe to a possible internal takeover of the party by conservatives. I saw it firsthand here in VA with the Governor's race. The GOPe would rather lose elections than win with a conservative. They control most of the money and that has major consequences politically.
Obamacare won't end the country. It will just lead to more government control and a decline in the quality of healthcare in this country. The Dems with help from some Reps will make band-aid fixes to muffle the political impact. And the costs of the program will prove to be much greater than estimated, similar to Medicare and Medicaid. It is just another entitlement program that will add to the $90 trillion we already have in unfunded liabilities.
So with due respect, your entire argument is a false choice. I will join Cruz, Lee and others in the good fight, fully realizing many of our enemies also wear the "R" - I get it .that;s hardly a news flash or an original thought.
The GOPe runs the party. They will not cede control to the conservatives. And how many so-called conservatives do we really have in Congress. When you have Rubio, Ryan, and Paul supporting some form of amnesty, are they really conservatives? The 14 GOP senators who helped pass the Gang of 8 bill and the nine who supported the Ryan-Murray budget bill should give you an idea as to how difficult it will be to actually control the Senate or the House for that matter when it comes to passing a conservative agenda. Boehner has violated the Hastert Rule 8 times, mostly on budget issues.
I don't see my argument as being based on a false choice, but rather, on political reality. Denial just ain't a river in Egypt.
Boehner must enjoy the taste of Reid’s a$$.
GOPe = RepuliCAN’T surrendership.
Paul Ryan = SFI.
That belongs on toilet paper.
