The Threat Matrix

The title refers to a daily report given to the president of the United States detailing the most serious terrorist threats against the country. To tackle those threats, the government has formed a top-notch task force to infiltrate the terror cells and cut off the danger.

"Every morning, the president receives a list of the top ten terrorist threats - this list is known as the threat matrix."

We here at FR are trying to be in conjunction with the daily reports around the world that involve threats. We try to provide a storehouse of information that takes hours of research.

Threat Matrix: U.S. Terrorism
Home grown Islamists may hit US: FBI chief
Full Story

WASHINGTON -- The United States could be attacked by "home grown" Islamist terror groups, the FBI's chief has warned.

FBI Director Robert Mueller told the London Financial Times newspaper in an interview published Thursday that the United States could face attacks from "home-grown terrorism" very similar to the July 7 bombings in London that killed 52 people and wounded another 700, Mueller said.

When asked if the United States could face such attacks from "home-grown groups", Mueller answered emphatically: "Absolutely, it could," the Financial Times said.

It sounds like they can go in cold water. But it also says they use sea
lions.

And they are called anti swimmers.

Since we have unexplained deaths of mysterious scuba divers, I just
found this interesting.<<<<

I find it interesting also.

That the human is smart enough to train the animals is alone a miracle.

That God has given us animals of the water that will train to protect us is unbleivable.

As for your the thought that they are the reason we have dead scuba divers, that sounds very possible.

But have we trained something that can get loose and act on their own, with evil intent?

I posted that little snippet hoping to get the bigger point across which to me was: Don't be a target -- make yourself as small and as un-noticeable as possible.

Well, it's here.

Ramadan begins at sunset today in Saudi Arabia, with tomorrow being the first day of fasting.

We will know when the sun goes down today whether the US Muslims will follow the Saudis or will insist on their own lunar sighting to determine the beginning of Ramadan, although from moonsighting.com it looks like the first day of fasting in the US will be Wednesday, October 5.

Oct 3, 2005 — DUBAI (Reuters) - Saudi Arabia, the birthplace of Islam, will start the Muslim fasting month of Ramadan on Tuesday along with most other Gulf Arab states, regional state media said on Monday.

Senior religious councils in Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates said the crescent moon was sighted after nightfall, signaling the start of Ramadan.

Oman will mark the start of Ramadan on Wednesday.

Muslims scan the sky at night after the end of their lunar calendar's eighth month in search of the new moon to proclaim the start of Ramadan, Islam's holiest month during which observant believers fast from dawn to dusk.

Businesses and offices reduce opening hours during the day and often open in the evenings.

From Moonsighting.com

Ramadan: The Astronomical New Moon is on Monday October 3, 2005 at 10:28 Universal Time. Looking at the visibilty curve one can understand that the moon is in the Southern Hemisphere. The moon is about 15 hours old and being too low on the horizon for North America will set in 14 min. after sunset on west coast. It cannot be seen in North America nor anywhere East of USA October 3. On October 4, it will be visible in most of the world except most of Asia and Europe, where it will be 24 to 31 hours old and less than 2 degrees above the horizon, still not visible. In Europe and most of Asia, it cannot be seen until October 5, when it will be 48 to 55 hours old. Accordingly, the first day of Ramadan will be on Wednesday, October 5, 2005 for North America and most of the world, except most of Asia and Europe, Insha-Allah.

My interest in the George street address for the Islamic Soc. was the fact it was another George, as in King George and the Cross.

Or names of attacked places, as in London.

No, it was not possible for me to read all of the thread on the bombing.

I did pick up an Oklahoma radio station, something like KFUH, last night very late, they did keep reporting on the
"blasts of the OTHER bombs found by the FBI", but did not give any info that was new..

I did find the fact they kept reported on the other bombs interesting, in that this was a bomb factory, not a single
guy having a bad day, in my opinion.

If there is anything that makes me think something is out of wack, it is the fact that no one talked about it, not the callers or the hosts of all the radio talk shows that I tuned in on last few days.

Most of the people do not even know it happened.

That's very bizarre since there was more than one explosive device.

Thank you for the photo, it is easier for me to see, no he does not look like Adam as I first thought.

He does look like someone who would join in jihad.

His name does not fit his looks.

Thank you for the candy/toy link, that is the one that I was thinking of.

Does this stolen candy fall into the stolen formula group?

I am thinking of the "Dented cans" stores we have here, they would be a likely place to sell a case or two of candy.

I have bought it there, after halloween, they had it cheap.

This goes a LOT deeper than football! There will be more of these
attacks and it will soon enough become apparent that the Ramadan
Offensive is underway. At some point the attacks will be
"unspinnable," Although I try to never under estimate the power of
liberal denial. But for the rest of us it's a matter of waiting for the
main event.<<<<<<

I agree with your thoughts above.

I do hear the liberal talk shows talk about "if we had a hit here, then President Bush, will no longer be able to say we are in (and must stay in) Iraq, to keep the terrorists going into Iraq and not here".

In my opinion, the liberals would prefer an attack on U.S. soil, so they can say "See President Bush was wrong, he lied about keeping us safe".

I would think that a bomb in Oklahoma would have had the radio talk shows talking, but of course, the 1995 OKC blast is out of their minds, (in my opinion, their minds are not large enough to handle 10 years of memories).

Tilt: wasn't the Murah building bombed on 4-19-1995?

Look at the 19's in the date.

In the post #79, april april appears twice.

Does april mean bomb? we know that two bombs at least were at the site the other night.

Need more coffee, all this thinking gives me a headache.LOL.......

As I recall the story when the vehicle was found, it not only was registered in Texas, but had the Texas plates still on it and was in the process of becoming a bomb.

Jeep 4 wheel drive is what i have in my head, but could be wrong.

Laura, I am so glad that you are sharing your information with us, it helps us to know what is happening.

I don't even want to imagine the people who would answer this ad.

More misguided fools like the Oklahoma boy this weekend.

It is going to draw them out of the woodwork.

To quote:

"I'm a resident of Norman and, according to a friend inside local law enforcement, they definitely to NOT think it was just a suicide. IOW, the bomb was clearly not meant to go off where/when it did.

"There was at least one eyewitness to the explosion itself and the guy didn't do anything to cause the explosion. He walked up to a bench, took his backpack off, sat down w/ it on his lap and was "hugging" it . . . sort of like resting his head on it, if that makes sense.

"This was just minutes before halftime of the game (which I was at, btw), a time when thousands of people leave the stands and go under/outside the stadium and smoke, walk aroud, get concessions, mill around, etc.

"The bench the guy was sitting on is about 75-100 yards from the stadium. I think he was sitting & waiting for all the people to come out at halftime.

"He couldn't have gotten inside the stadium w/o a ticket, but could have quickly put himself in the position have been in a perfect location to hit others outside the stadium if the bomb had not gone off prematurely.

"Also, the bomb was made of some sort of highly volatile, home-cooked, liquid explosive, not a pipe bomb as has been reported in the local news.

"Also, just to let you know that the guy does have islamic ties. A middle eastern roommate, for one. Other ME friends, associates, also."

My hand is raised and so is my husband's. No human being on this planet could stop us from it.

Mistaking us for soft - now THAT would be a serious mistake.
