Given they knew it was coming for some time and had Stamps printed up already I think it quite likely. I am not saying you are wrong OR right. But it is VERY likely that this is what they would have used. The United States wasn’t an official Nation till 1778 when the Constitution was ratified. I might be missing the date a bit, but it had official documents that stated that it was the United States from 1776 on. There is historical Precedent.

We will know more when the Documents are accepted by the Court.

Right now, from what I have learned in the last 12 hours is that this stands a pretty high percentage of being legit.

There’s been a lot of speculation on the Mombasa aspect. I suppose it’s possible that Daddy Obama had some reason to go to Mombasa - political party headquarters? maybe the university where he got an undergraduate degree? near the airport? It’s odd but not impossible.

There is the issue that Granny Obama says that she was present at his birth. She wouldn’t have been that old at the time (in her 40s, probably), so it wouldn’t have been impossible for her to get to Mombasa.

Why she’d go is another matter. Maybe Daddy Obama wanted her there, maybe he felt that he wanted it clear that Baby Obama was his and belonged to his clan, maybe she even intended to take the baby back to her village to be brought up there. Who knows?

They’re odd aspects, but don’t really make it impossible.

August 4, 1961 in Honolulu, Hawaii IS August 5, 1961 in Mombasa, Kenya. Mombasa is about 11200 west of Honolulu on the other side of the International Dateline. Mombasa is about 11 hours ahead of Honolulu. So technically they are logged correctly by date at each location.

If “Yomama” was born in Mombasa on August 5, 1961 it would be recorded as August 4, 1961 in Honolulu!
