I don't know if there is more than one source or not, but, according to Politico, Chris Wilson, a Governor Perry supporter and pollster for the super PAC that supports Governor Perry, worked at the National Restaurant Association and is the (a?) source for the Cain/sexual harassment story.
He said the episode of harassment occurred in a public restaurant in the 1990's and that many people knew about it. What is WEIRD about the Politico story and Chris Wilson, is that Chris Wilson would not or did not say what happened. The only reason that omission catches my attention is that sexual harassment is a rather “fluid” concept. Some actions are OBVIOUSLY sexual harassment and some are NOT – and are merely actions misinterpreted or exaggerated.
Hence I would like to know what it is that people (Chris Wilson) say Mr. Cain did. Of course because Wilson is also a Governor Perry guy, his remarks (accusation) should be looked at with a discerning eye – and it is all the more important that he provide more information about what he claims Mr. Cain did.

I just can’t imagine aligning myself with the likes of Politico the way the Perrybots have.
As you noted, once these tactics that the Politico have been employing on Cain are used on Perry (should he win the Primary), we’ll hear non-stop cries of: “Hey, this isn’t fair...they are just accusations by an un-named source!” The Perrybots have decided to join in with Left-wing hacks like Politico in destroying a conservative GOP candidate. I will not suffer their cries of unfairness when the media savage Perry.

I agree with that, and I don’t even think that Cain will convert a large number of blacks to conservatism...but he still may well get their votes, based solely on his ideas.

If this were happening to Perry...accusations that were almost 20years old, and never litigated because they were deemed baseless; you'd be outraged. I think this makes Perrybots like yourself as sleazy as the Politico.
You think this won't happen to Perry? If he does win the GOP primary, I expect to see the same silence from the Perrybots about the Politico (and other Left-Wing rags) who do these types hit pieces, and the same criticism of your candidate. Trust me, there will be things in Perry's past that the Left-wing media will trounce out, just like their doing to Cain. Any defense or excuse you make for Perry will be met with: “Remember your standard for Cain?”
Yeah, Chris Wilson has a lot to answer for. Half-stepping allegations won't cut it.
I understand that the purpose of the campaign is to select the best candidate and that could include exposing weaknesses in other candidates before they get to the general because they will certainly get exposed there.
However, as you say, these things can be handled face to face or in a private phone call and giving Cain a chance to respond. Leaking unsubstantiated rumors to a liberal rag like politico through an operative reeks of unsavory political instincts.

I don’t know much about this Hate crimes stuff, but I do know there was tremendous National pressure in 2001 when the stuff got passed.
The entire media was in a tiff about them Texans dragging James Bird to his death.
It is my personal opinion that we don’t need laws to micromanage the laws that exist.
The pricks that killed Mr Bird are murderers and worse.
Perry believes the same and he has taken aim at ridiculous legal action with the tort reform.
Right now it’s based on medical lawsuits, but it sets a legal precedence.
