CLARK COUNTY, Nevada — A man has been released after being arrested Sunday during an ongoing dispute over grazing rights between the Bureau of Land Management and a family in southern Nevada, and the family is calling for action. A federal judge in Las Vegas first ordered Nevada rancher Cliven Bundy to remove his trespassing cattle in 1998, according to reports from the Associated Press. Similar orders were issued in July 2013, and again in October.

Minutes earlier, the man ran into a home in the 3100 block of Desatoya Drive where a homeowner opened fire on the man, as he was trying to enter his house. The homeowner pulled out a gun and shot toward the intruder several times. Officials believe the intruder was shot in the leg, but it's unclear if that happened before or after breaking into the home.

The preliminary investigation indicates the husband and wife were separated. The woman went to her former home to exchange some sort of property. A dispute erupted and the husband shot the wife. She made it into the front yard before collapsing. A neighbor, armed with a handgun, rescued the woman from the yard and moved her to safety.

Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- A quick-thinking patrol officer is credited with foiling a holdup at a Starbucks in Henderson on Tuesday. Police say Officer Michael Wolff was off duty when he stopped at a busy Starbucks at the Horizon College Plaza at about 11 a.m. When he approached the counter, he saw a gunman at the register pulling money out. Wolff was in plain clothes but wearing his badge and gun. He aimed his gun at the gunman, identfied himself as an officer and ordered the suspect to drop his weapon.

The homeowner was in the home at the time and shot the burglary in the chest, police said. The homeowner then left the home and called police. The burglar was taken to University Medical Center in critical condition.

Senate Bill 76, introduced by state Senator James Settelmeyer (R-17), passed in the Nevada Senate unanimously on March 4. Under this bill, a CCW applicant would only have to qualify with one handgun.
