Jan Brewer has lost her head.

The Arizona governor, seemingly determined to repel every last tourist dollar from her pariah state, has sounded a new alarm about border violence. "Our law enforcement agencies have found bodies in the desert either buried or just lying out there that have been beheaded," she announced on local television.

Ay, caramba! Those dark-skinned foreigners are now severing the heads of fair-haired Americans? Maybe they're also scalping them or shrinking them or putting them on a spike.

But those in fear of losing parts north of the neckline can relax. There's not a follicle of evidence to support Brewer's claim.

The Arizona Guardian Web site checked with medical examiners in Arizona's border counties and the coroners said they had never seen an immigration-related beheading. I called and e-mailed Brewer's press office requesting documentation of decapitation; no reply.

Brewer's mindlessness about headlessness is just one of the immigration falsehoods being spread by Arizona politicians. Border violence on the rise? Phoenix becoming the world's No. 2 kidnapping capital? Illegal immigrants responsible for most police killings? The majority of those crossing the border are drug mules? All wrong.

So, they actually familiar with beheadings, just not with those "immigration related"... What is that - "immigration-related beheading"??? How to differentiate - related or not?

What Mr. Milbank is talking about!!? Desert is off limits for the law enforcement?? Found beheaded body there, leave it there?? Or do not even go to the desert?

This has the marks of a think-tank-supported liberal propaganda campaign. Edward Schumacher-Matos, who writes for the WaPo Writers Group, wrote the same thing in another column a few days ago that appeared in the Atlanta "Urinal-Constipation", accusing conservatives of lying about illegal aliens and crime. Unfortunately for the campaigners, someone has already researched the subject using Southern California crime stats and testified to Congress on the subject. Snopes in turn offers links to the original documents referred to.

The WaPo, CNN, rawstory.com, and a couple of others are deliberately twisting the story -- they're screwing the Governor.

Her actual quote to Fox, from rawstory.com quoted on CNN's breaking-news site, was

She didn't say who did the beheadings. Presumably these were bodies that have been found on the Arizona side of the border. The newsies are rushing to call her a liar, but they're changing her quote to do it, and if it turns out she was right, they won't retract or correct.

Somebody archive this clip quickly -- before Ezra Klein's little Gollums can slip around to tell CNN to obliterate it.

This type of crime on Southern border suggest violence between gangs of drug runners. It's the same people who smuggle illegals into States. They treat people they smuggle as slaves forever - and insubordination is fatal.

Dana Milbank uses word games. What would be next? Say that there were a few bank robberies recently and the rebuttal will be - a police source said that police does not know of any “immigration-related” robberies?

I wonder how Milbank defines “immigration-related”? Beheading specifically in order to cross border?
