Dinosaur fossils kept secret for years show the day of killer asteroid

The researchers say they found evidence in North Dakota of the asteroid hit in Mexico, including fish with hot glass in their gills from flaming debris that showered back down on Earth.

They also reported the discovery of charred trees, evidence of an inland tsunami and melted amber.

Additionally, University of Amsterdam professor Jan Smit said he and his colleagues found footsteps from dinosaurs moments before they met their untimely death.

Smit said the footprints — one from a plant-eating hadrosaur and the other of a meat eater, maybe a small Tyrannosaurus Rex — is "definite proof that the dinosaurs were alive and kicking at the time of impact ...

They were running around, chasing each other" when they were swamped.

"This is the death blow preserved at one particular site.

This is just spectacular," said Purdue University geophysicist and impact expert Jay Melosh, who wasn't part of the research but edited the paper released Friday by the journal Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences.

Melosh called it the field's "discovery of the century."

Despite the incredible finds, other experts in the field have concerns about the work, including the lack of access to this specific Hell Creek Formation fossil site for outside scientists.

Hell Creek — which spans Montana, both Dakotas and Wyoming — is a fossil treasure trove that includes numerous types of dinosaurs, mammals, reptiles and fish trapped in clay and stone from 65 to 70 million years ago.

There is a consistent spring near said cave, fed from somewhere underground. (Which also shows signs of having a cistern near it)

I’ve piped the water down dip to a tank for cattle. Periodically it gets clogged.

The hands get mad that I don’t let them go deal with it; we take care of it personally.

Find a large slab of sandstone. Arrange for an asteroid to strike it. During the resulting explosion, the sandstone will be shattered and melted, and thrown into the sky. The molten ejecta will become glass spheres of various sizes and will fall to the earth. It’s so easy that even a Cave Man can do it.

Are you getting paid by the government to try and dismiss the fact that the Dinosaurs possessed Alien technology?

Get real. What they found is not a fraud. Though it is open to interpretation. What they have found has been hyped a bit such as them saying “That within the first hour of impact XYZ happened”

BTW this asteroid that hit went down (dug down) 36 miles into the earths crust.

I would like to, can you give me some ideas on how to get the government to pay me for that. Should I jump on the Climate Change bandwagon?

...

Do you know anything about the two men who have been working this site for the past six years?

It’s why I have trouble with asteroid impact extinction theory in general....sure a big asteroid will make big mess but I wonder if it would make a bigger mess than say...the Yellow Caldera blowing it’s top. Also are we talking about comets, stony asteroid, or iron nickel asteroids and accounting for approximation of size(5 miles in diameter for example; what would the effects of each really be? Also have they accounted for internal temperature of such large objects...which might be still near -200F or lower in the case of the stony and comet type asteroids? That much cold in that much mass might actually mitigate and damp down the explosive effects in the early “impact sequences”.

The iron nickel meteors will have more density and mass/weight so the energy released will be greater but it will make a bigger hole before melting and exuding its heat energy releases more deeply into the surrounding crust....I suspect more of the surrounding deeper structures of the earth would be affected where as the other types due to their brittleness will affect the earth more broadly and more shallowly.

Granted, with a large impactor hitting at 20 miles/second, I would want to already be in a cave 1500 miles away from impact.

Just asking some questions...those who study the subject are invited to better school me...;)

They say the site was dated 66 Million years ago, but that’s a million years too early as Dinosaurs died out 65 million years ago.

So something ain’t right

Both are estimates based on testing, not hard figures. Could'a been 64 or 67...

Bishop James Ussher came up with date October 22nd 4004 BC. He used the begats in the Bible to come up with that date. Nightfall in Ireland is 6PM so that is, according to the Bishop, the date and time of creation.
Most people at the time thought the Earth was of infinite age but our abilities to see into the past have greatly advanced and the most widely accepted age of the Earth is 4.5 billion years. Sorry, no year, no month, no date and no time of day.

He said it, to let it be known was the quickest way for us to get our ranch confiscated by the federal government.

Like finding a treasure trove- shovel and shut up.

...a reference in 2 Peter, “With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day,” means creation has to be 6,000 years old or thereabouts.

Written at a time when the reader would have no concept of millions or billions, intended to be understood by most.

Holy Cr@p!! I watched the first minute of that without sound at work, and was flipping out. I'll have to watch the whole thing at home later with the sound turned up.

(I wanna shake the hand of the guy that filmed that...) :-)

Dino extinction did happen 66 million years ago -- it just seems like 65 million years. :^)

The incredible speed-up makes for a more fascinating image, no doubt about it. Now if I can just tear my eyes away from it.

Did I sense a touch of sarcasm in your comment?

They got it by adding up the begats.
The Bible wouldn’t lie about begats, would it?
