Some of the first humans in the Americas came from China, study finds

...Known as D4h, this lineage is found in mitochondrial DNA, which is inherited only from mothers and is used to trace maternal ancestry.

The team from the Kunming Institute of Zoology embarked on a 10-year hunt for D4h, combing through 100,000 modern and 15,000 ancient DNA samples across Eurasia, eventually landing on 216 contemporary and 39 ancient individuals [iow, cherry picking] who came from the ancient lineage.

By analyzing the mutations that had accrued over time, looking at the samples’ geographic locations and using carbon dating, they were able to reconstruct the D4h’s origins and expansion history.

The results revealed two migration events. The first was between 19,500 and 26,000 years ago during the Last Glacial Maximum, when ice sheet coverage was at its greatest and climate conditions in northern China were probably inhospitable.

The second occurred during the melting period, between 19,000 and 11,500 years ago. Increasing human populations during this period might have triggered migrations.

It was during this second migration that the scientists found a surprising genetic link between Native Americans and Japanese people, particularly the indigenous Ainu.

In the melting period, a subgroup branched out from northern coastal China to Japan, contributing to the Japanese people, the study said, a finding that chimes with archeological similarities between ancient people in the Americas, China and Japan.

Li said a strength of the study was the number of samples they discovered, and complementary evidence from Y chromosomal DNA showing that male ancestors of Native Americans lived in northern China at the same time as female ancestors made researchers confident of their findings.

Genesis had a great chapter on nuclear physics and another on compiler construction. Yeah, that ancient document covered all of the details, and explained everything in clinical detail.

Geologists say there were land bridges between Great Britain and Europe, Japan and Asia, North America and Eurasia.

They have also discover the Mediterranean Sea had pretty much dried up.

I’ve encountered a statement like that before, but it was done with color — that there were white, brown, and black, and that the red and yellow were mixtures of the other three.

The Sumerians themselves didn't regard themselves as native to Mesopotamia, they said they'd arrived by sea. So say they. The oldest writing (that can be read) was their invention, so with them, history begins.

I'll go with the facts on the ground, including the ones under the water.

That one’s the ultimate bridge-for-sale pitch. Clearly people in very ancient times found little impediment to travel by water. Around here, as recently as 180 years ago, water routes were often the best/quickest/only way to get around.

Genesis doesn't make that claim nor does Scripture. Genesis does explain where the universe and mankind originated. It also gives us the origin of languages.

The Bible is correct where it addresses science.

True science is a friend of the Bible. True science NEVER contradicts the Bible.

If it seems contradictory, it means that more understanding is needed either understanding scientific fact better or understanding Biblical truth better or both.

But normally, it’s conventional science catching up with the truth of the Bible.

No, science is a method. "True science" is some kind of BS term made up by people with no interest in science. Hit the bricks, troll.

True science is formed by the scientific method and approved by the scientific community.

What? According to you there’s no true science?? Give me a break.

And you call me a troll for saying that true science is a friend of the Bible? No, you call me a troll from disagreeing with your version of the genesis of creation.

Why don’t you take a long walk off a short pier, Pal.

I’ll do my best to avoid you posts which enlighten little because you let little light in. A “science” thread that thinks there’s no true science. What a joke.

Rots a Ruck.

‘Explain please.’

there are two separate accounts of creation in Gen 1:1-2:3 and Gen 2:4-3:24, which is a widely known fact; many Christians regard them as two totally separate myths haing a similar premise; others see it as two separate chapters of the same story...suffice it to say that the first tale regards the creation of the cosmos, with man as the final crowning touch, while the second regards humankind as the primal creation, with animals created afterwards to be Adam’s mate, which of course he was not happy with, so God created woman for him

“True science” is some kind of BS term made up by people with no interest in science’

actually, the term ‘true science’ took on its purest zealoutry during covid, with nonsense like social distancing’ and the efficacy of mask wearing being put forth as de facto truth, complete with all the religious fervor of the Rapturists of the 1840’s...

so, essentially we can argue that ‘true science’ exists, if we infuse it with enough hosannahs and amens...
