The purpose of this post is to begin providing links, tools, and tactics which we can all use to educate the public, fellow citizens, and neighbors about Hillary Clinton.

It is a work in progress- I have provided a starting point, but want others to chime in with more links, stories, and information.

It is the product of conversations with a number of other members, from which several salient tactical points emerged:

1- keep it as contemporary as possible- the old Whitewater and similar items are stale and dead to the public.
2- keep it civil, please- within the board guidelines, or better. We are trying to convert the mushy middle, and stridency puts them off. Badly.
3- source or reference everything. Authenticity is critical to such an effort.

Here's where it started:

Clinton takes shot at Obama's experience — then he gets sarcastic--ask your friends how much liberty they are willing to give up just so they can elect a collectivist with a vagina.

Will it be their house? Choice of MDs? Retirement plan? Paycheck? Guns? Who knows what other plans Mrs. Clinton has in controlling religion, freedom of association (Waco is a good example), free speech, etc.

So Far Hillary’s Proposals Cost $773 Billion

November 20th, 2007

From the Republican National Committee:

HILLARY’S SPEND-O-METER

If Sen. Hillary Clinton (D-NY) Could Enact All Of Her Campaign Proposals, Taxpayers Would Be Faced With Financing $773 Billion In New Spending Over One White House Term. Keep reading for a breakdown of her proposals:

Updated November 5, 2007: Hillary Has Proposed A $150 Billion Energy Investment Plan Over 10 Years, Equal To $15 Billion Per Year; $15 Billion Multiplied By 4 Years = $60 Billion. “A $50 billion Strategic Energy Fund, paid for in part by oil companies, to fund investments in alternative energy. The SEF will finance one-third of the $150 billion ten-year investment in a new energy future contained in this plan.” (Hillary Clinton For President Website, www.hillaryclinton.com, Accessed 11/5/07)

Updated October 17, 2007: Hillary Proposed $1.75 Billion A Year In State Grants For Paid Family Leave And Child Care Programs; Multiplied By 4 Years = $7 Billion. “Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton … proposed giving $1 billion in grants to states that enact paid family leave laws and said that she would support requiring employers to provide workers seven days’ annual paid sick leave. … Mrs. Clinton also proposed tens of millions of additional dollars for block grants for child care programs. Together, the new proposals that Mrs. Clinton announced … in New Hampshire would cost $1.75 billion a year.” (Patrick Healy, “Clinton Proposes Big Grants For Family Leave,” The New York Times, 10/17/07)

Updated October 12, 2007: Hillary Proposed An $8 Billion A Year College Affordability Program, Multiplied By 4 Years = $32 Billion. “And this week she unveiled … an $8 billion annual college affordability program.” (Russell Berman, “Rangel, Clinton To Clash,” The New York Sun, 10/12/07)

Updated October 11, 2007: Hillary’s Health Care Plan Would Cost $110 Billion Per Year, Multiplied By 4 Years (One White House Term) = $440 Billion. “Clinton’s price tag is $110 billion a year, but analysts say her [health care] plan will cost a lot more than that.” (Donald Lambro, Op-Ed, “Health Care Nightmare,” The Washington Times, 9/24/07)

Hillary Has Proposed 401(k) For All Americans, Funded In Part By The Government At A Cost Of Up To $25 Billion Per Year, Multiplied By 4 Years = $100 Billion.  “Hillary Clinton unveiled her second-biggest proposal of the campaign so far – after health care — a plan to make 401(k) retirement savings plans available to all Americans. … Clinton’s ‘American Retirement Accounts’ would cost about $20 to 25 billion each year, Clinton’s advisors said yesterday.” (Marcella Bombardieri, “Clinton Targeting Middle Class,” The Boston Globe, 10/9/07)

Hillary’s Baby Bond Proposal Would Give $5,000 To Each Of The 4 Million Babies Born In The U.S. Each Year, Totaling $20 Billion Per Year, Multiplied By 4 Years = $80 Billion.  “Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Rodham Clinton said … that every child born in the United States should get a $5,000 ‘baby bond’ from the government … Approximately 4 million babies are born each year in the United States.” (Devlin Barrett, “Clinton: $5,000 For Every U.S. Baby,” The Associated Press, 9/28/07)

  • “It Would Be Expensive — About $20 Billion A Year — And Clinton Offered No Way To Pay For It.” (Editorial, “Clinton’s Baby Boondoggle,” The Chicago Tribune, 10/2/07)

For Public Transit, Hillary Would Spend $1.5 Billion Per Year, Multiplied By 4 Years = $6 Billion. “[S]he proposed spending $1.5 billion per year for public transit …” (Christina Bellantoni, “Democrats Can’t Afford ‘08 Promises,” The Washington Times, 9/20/07)

Hillary Would Spend $10 Billion On Bridges Over 10 Years, Equal To $1 Billion Per Year; $1 Billion Multiplied By 4 Years = $4 Billion. “After the Minnesota bridge collapse last month, she proposed … $10 billion over 10 years to redesign and reconstruct ailing bridges.” (Christina Bellantoni, “Democrats Can’t Afford ‘08 Promises,” The Washington Times, 9/20/07)

Hillary Plans To Spend $1 Billion For At-Risk Mortgage Borrowers. “She has proposed $1 billion to help at-risk mortgage borrowers avoid foreclosure.” (Christina Bellantoni, “Democrats Can’t Afford ‘08 Promises,” The Washington Times, 9/20/07)

Hillary Would Commit $10 Billion For Education In Developing Countries Over 5 Years, Equal To $2 Billion Per Year; $2 Billion Multiplied By 4 Years = $8 Billion. “Presidential hopeful Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton wants the U.S. government to commit $10 billion over five years to get young children in developing countries into school …” (Amy Fagan, “Hillary Seeks ‘Education For All,’” The Washington Times, 5/2/07)

Hillary Pledged $300 Million For “Second Chance Education.” “Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Rodham Clinton, vowing to ‘stop the revolving door from the streets to prison,’ pledged to invest $300 million as president into public-private programs for ‘second chance education’ and reintegrating ex-offenders into communities.” (Peter Hecht, “Clinton Vows To Back Programs For ‘Second Chance Education,’” Sacramento Bee, 10/1/07)

Hillary Committed $36 Million For School Phys-Ed Programs. “Smaller-ticket items … [include] $36 million for school physical-education programs.” (Christina Bellantoni, “Democrats Can’t Afford ‘08 Promises,” The Washington Times, 9/20/07)

Hillary’s Universal Pre-K Would Cost $5 Billion The First Year, And Over The Next 5 Years Annual Expenditures Would Increase To $10 Billion, Meaning At A Minimum It Would Cost $5 Billion Per Year Over The First 4 Years; $5 Billion Multiplied By 4 Years = $20 Billion. Hillary Clinton’s “Fact Sheet” On Universal Pre-K: “The federal government will allocate $5 billion in the first year to states to establish and administer universal Pre-K. Over the next five years, the federal commitment will increase to $10 billion as states increase their commitment to Pre-K.” (Hillary Clinton For President Website, hillaryclinton.com, Accessed 9/28/07)

Hillary Would Increase The Number Of National Science Foundation Fellowships And Increase The Size Of Each Award, At An Annual Cost Of $378 Million; $378 Million Multiplied By 4 Years = Over 1.5 Billion. “Triple the number of NSF fellowships and increase the size of each award by 33 percent. … It is estimated that this would increase the annual cost of the program from $122 million to $500 million.” (Hillary Clinton For President Website, hillaryclinton.com, Accessed 10/10/07)

She Would Double The NIH’s Budget Over 10 Years – An Additional $28 Billion, Equal To 2.8 Billion Per Year; $2.8 Billion Multiplied By 4 Years = $11.2 Billion. “At a recent cancer forum, Mrs. Clinton said she would ‘double’ the National Institute of Health’s $28 billion budget … over 10 years.” (Christina Bellantoni, “Democrats Can’t Afford ‘08 Promises,” The Washington Times, 9/20/07)

And Would Double The National Cancer Institute’s Budget Over 10 Years – An Additional $5 Billion, Equal To $500 Million Per Year; $500 Million Multiplied By 4 Years = $2 Billion. “At a recent cancer forum, Mrs. Clinton said she would ‘double’ … the National Cancer Institute’s nearly $5 billion budget over 10 years.” (Christina Bellantoni, “Democrats Can’t Afford ‘08 Promises,” The Washington Times, 9/20/07)

Sure it’s only 3/4 of a trillion dollars.

But you know, 3/4 of a trillion here and 3/4 of a trillion there, and soon you’re talking about real money.

Clinton in trouble in Iowa

The latest Washington Post-ABC News poll from Iowa has Barack Obama leading a tight race with 30 percent of likely caucus-goers supporting him. Hillary Clinton is second with 26 percent, followed by John Edwards with 22 percent. Things may actually be worse for Clinton than these numbers suggest. According to the poll, a disproportionately large number of Clinton supporters have never participated in a caucus. Permalink

Hillary, The ‘Rat’s Ass’ Case And The LSC

November 21st, 2007

Given that Mrs. Bill Clinton likes to talk about her 35 years of “public service,” it might be instructive to look back at her early days as a working lawyer at the Rose Law Firm, as well as her stint at the Legal Services Corporation.

Hillary condemns rape--Liberals are great with their selective amnesia and phony righteousness. Hillary’s been enabling a sexual predator nearly all of her adult life. Yet she now wants to get political advantage on the issue...

Hillary Clinton -- forceful but too modest

Hillary Clinton has responded pointedly and effectively to Barack Obama's claim that the four years he spent living overseas as a child provides him with "strong[] experience. . .in foreign relations." Though it will seem odd to many that Obama made such a silly claim is, this sort of fuzzy thinking is in the air that liberals breathe these days. It's part of the notion that the U.S. is too provincial and that if we spent more time abroad (even as kids, apparently), we'd be sufficiently sophisticated to avoid foreign policy error or, what some liberals take to be the same thing, offending foreigners. This is the sort of view one hears from C-SPAN callers on the Democratic line.

Strong stuff, but too modest. Clinton omits her quality time with the Arafats.

Wife Or Child -- Which One Has The Best Foreign-Policy Experience?

And here I thought that the dumbest statements of this extended political season would come in the quiz shows presidential debates. The latest kerfuffle in the Democratic primary centers on whether living abroad as a child carries more weight on foreign policy than being First Lady.

Who gives these people advice? On one hand, we have a candidate telling people with a straight face that his adventures as a 10-year-old and two whole years! on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee prepare him to run American foreign policy. Hillary Clinton rightly skewers this, but then claims that her role as First Lady -- when she presumably made none of the decisions and had none of the responsibility for foreign policy -- makes her supremely qualified for the role.

Clinton mocks Obama on foreign policy (Two'fer Read: Enjoy the Rat tiff and caption the Hillary pic)

Surprise! Another Clinton Donor Scandal... This Time With Links to CNN (Big Update!!)

BIG Update below...
Another day, another Clinton donor stinker.

Bill, Hill and Vinod Gupta.
This family picture was taken before Vinod Gupta's firm InfoUSA bought Opinion Research Corporation a marketing firm which conducts polling for CNN. (Theodore's World)

A lawsuit filed by shareholders of InfoUSA last year claims that Clinton supporter Vinod Gupta abused company assets and resources which he spent lavishly on Bill and Hillary Clinton.

This news that there will be an SEC investigation into InfoUSA was announced yesterday.
The Washington Post reported on the SEC investigation:

The Securities and Exchange Commission has launched an investigation into InfoUSA, a Nebraska company that used corporate funds to fly Hillary Rodham Clinton around the country, and one of only two companies to put Bill Clinton on its payroll after he left the White House.

The firm, a major provider of database-processing services, disclosed little about the nature of the probe in a filing to shareholders released yesterday.

The two-sentence filing said only that InfoUSA received a letter last week "informing the Company that the SEC is conducting an informal investigation . . . and is requesting the voluntary production of documents relating to related party transactions, expense reimbursement, other corporate expenditures and certain trading in the Company's securities."

Two sources familiar with the company's troubles suggested that investigators would focus their attention on executives' use of company money to feather their own nests. Gupta has been a major financial supporter of the Clintons since he met the president in the mid-1990s. Gupta and his company donated $1 million to help underwrite a lavish year 2000 New Year's Eve celebration at the White House and on the Mall.

He paid the former president $200,000 to deliver a speech to InfoUSA executives in Papillion, Neb., and signed the former president to a $3.3 million consulting deal. For the past four years, both Clintons have used Gupta's corporate plane, flying to Switzerland, Hawaii, Jamaica and Mexico -- about $900,000 worth of travel, The Post reported in May.

Bill and buddy Vinod (Theodore's World)

That's not all...
The Clinton's were taking funds from a company that makes a profit off of bilking senior citizens:

The company has come under scrutiny not only for Gupta's spending habits. The Times reported last week that customer data sold by the company had been used by thieves to bilk older people. The company said it would take steps to assure such a sale would not occur again.
Dick Morris had much more on the Clinton's ties to the scandal-plagued firm.

Prairie Pundit has more on this latest Clinton donor scandal.

UPDATE: Sorry to slime your Thanksgiving but check this out on the latest Clinton shenanigans...
The Blotter reported earlier this week that the Clinton's were selling the Clinton library donor list to their good pals at InfoUSA:

Three years after the William J. Clinton Presidential Library opened its doors, the list of donors who helped the former president build his $165 million complex remains a secret from the public.

Yet the Blotter on ABCNews.com has learned that the Clinton Foundation sold portions of the list through a data company headed by a longtime friend and donor.

"The fact that they've sold the list and then turned around and said that these names must be kept anonymous completely undercuts their argument," said Sheila Krumholz of the Center for Responsive Politics, a Washington, D.C.-based government watchdog group that tracks the influence of money in politics.

An employee of Walter Karl, a subsidiary of the data company InfoUSA, told ABCNews.com that the company made a list of more than 38,000 donors to the Clinton presidential library available for sale to foundations and other nonprofit groups from June 2006 to May 2007. A spokesman for the company would not say how the profits from the sale of the partial list were distributed.
It is interesting... The Clinton's won't release information on Hillary's years in the White House but sold library donor information through a shady marketing firm - for a hefty profit.

By the way, that signature line of mine makes sense, if you know the context:

It started out as "Just an old Keyboard Cowboy ridin' the Trakball into the Sunset"
( I've been online since 1981... )

It evolved into "Just an old Keyboard Cowboy ridin' the Trakball into the Dawn of Information"

And after I joined a blog last year, one the members there decided that even though I was old in years, she thought of me as a "Merry-Hearted Boy..." and I come from a long line of sailors and shipbreakers, and probably a pirate or two... so I merged them all together... and viola...

...the tagline you currently see.

Clinton Trails All GOP Candidates: Zogby

Part of relying on polls for analysis includes knowing whether the pollster has credibility. Zogby Interactive has a reputation for questionable results, but it usually can at least identify trends. Their latest trend shows the inevitability of Hillary Clinton sinking the Democrats next year: Rasmussen hasn't updated their numbers in over a week on head-to-heads, but the trend for Hillary is downward there as well. And Rasmussen shows Hillary losing in Florida for the first time in its latest polling. Comments ( 54) "Let's call it what it is. Hillary! is not unpopular by many, she's despised...A lot of people look back to the Clinton years and don't remember anything very "halcyon" about them that the Clintons had anything to do with."

"Mrs. Bill Clinton, a native of Illinois who later became First Lady of Arkansas and then got the 1992 pre-internet media to elect her as Co-President of the US, then pulled a Bobby Kennedy and moved to a liberal Northeast state she had probably never lived in, and was elected Senator by the genial idiots there (I'm a former NYC resident so speak from experience). As far as I can tell she's gotten some Post Offices re-named, but not much else."

The Oprah Takes on The Clintons. -- Americans are finished with the Clintons ... Hillary just refuses to read the telegraph ...

Powerline suggests that this is indicative of netroots hostility to Clinton, rather than GOP strength against her.

Captain Ed has a slightly longer analysis. He suggests that this is indicative of a trend: Clinton's hull has been pierced, and she is starting to take on a little water. (He does not suggest that she will lose the nomination, but this kind of weakness will be helpful to her opponents in the general election.)

Next, we have yet another possible fundraising scandal. This time, it looks like she has a bundler in Texas. If a Republican candidate were to...

Eight Years of Liberal Hatred--the two Bush terms have been on unending carnival of hatred... Berkowitz gives us a nice guided tour of liberal follies from the inside. But he fails at coming up with an explanation. He's a rational man, looking for reasons in the record, sorting through the facts in an attempt to pinpoint exactly where Bush hatred began to metastasize within the liberal mentality. Bush is simply the latest of a long line of hate-figures -- it's the way the liberal-left does things.
