JIM ROBINSON AS THE NEW JOSEPH FARAH - STABBING THE CONSERVATIVE MOVEMENT IN THE BACK [Re:Giuliani]
On one the few rational minds left around here - but for long | 4/24/2007 | Al Simmons

Posted on 04/24/2007 10:22:39 AM PDT by Al Simmons

About me:

Lurker - since 1998

Member - since 1999

In self-imposed exile - since April 2007

The tone of the debate and the attacks on long-time fellow Freepers for the cardinal sin of daring to support Rudy Giuliani in early 2007 around here have really saddened me. Instead of fighting the enemy FR is now imposing an 'ideological purity' test on FR members. The well-oiled train has gone off the rails and Mr. Robinson risks becoming the next Joe Farah - a fellow who started a great website for conservative news and opinions, but who gradually drifted off to la-la land, losing all credibility - and readership - in the process.

He has set himself squarely in the Internet media spotlight, doused himself with gasoline, and and lighted himself on fire - a fact that has not escaped the attention of the left-wing lunatics at Daily Kos. Their reporting on what has been going on at FR is perhaps the first factually true account published on their site.

Jim, if that quote of yours about setting up an organization to 'Swiftboat Rudy' is accurate as quoted in their article, the only thing I have to say to you is that you ought to be ashamed of yourself, as you have now become the back-stabber of the conservative cause.

If you wish to marginalize this site by turning it into a narrow "several-issue" forum, that is your right. Just as it is my right to choose to not participate here any longer.

But you will be disappointed if you think that the crude, illiterate "goon squad" you have allowed free rein around here (dmw, narses, dirtboy, extremely extreme extremist, ReaganMan and several others - if I have slighted anyone, please email me if you want onto this list) will elevate the level of intellectual debate.

The result has been predictably in the other direction. That is what happens when you hire a bunch of brown shirts to enforce your own brand of political correctness.

Well, guess what? Politics is 99% BS and one can quite nicely live one's life without the need to bloviate about it. I know how I am going to vote. I could care less about anyone else. Life is too short to waste my time around here when I am clearly one of those made to feel like they are not welcome.

So, go ahead Jim -

MAKE MY DAY. BAN ME. I DARE YOU.

LOL!! The whole idea of an opus just makes me laugh. “Look at ME! Pay attention to ME! I’m LEAVING! With all my toys! ‘Cause you’re not worthy of ME! Now, don’t you feel bad?”

If I was gonna leave I’d just stop posting. Maybe I’d send a private message to my friends or something, but I don’t think I’d pitch a public hissy fit.

Especially when I *knew* that I would be unable to respond to the mob who would descend upon the opus thread.

uh... I think he just did. That was kind of the point of this post...

Feel free to start up a RINO forum if you wish. There is nothing wrong with having an agenda as long as it is right.

I love really stupid posts. If this were a dog and pony show, Al wants the winner declared after only one dog (or pony) had been viewed. If it were American Idol, he wants the winner declared from the auditions in America - long before we get to the “Welcome to Hollywood” part!!

All the dogs have not been shown, yet. Why don’t we all take a breath and relax and enjoy the show for awhile before declaring “best in show”? If Al likes Rudy, that’s ok and one less person to debate anything of substance.

But, FWIW, I like to see ALL of the contestants before deciding which one has EARNED my vote. The president isn’t Miss America, nor is it American Idol. The president has to be a strong leader who is prepared to lead the free world against the evils of Ihmanutjob, Chavez, Putin, AQ, and Islamofascism. Politicians today say anything to get elected. What we have to examine are ethics, morals, and their past actions. Above all, actions still speak louder than words.

Relax, I don't think Rudy has a chance of getting the nomination, there's way too many quotes and clips on record that simply must sink his bid, like federal funding for abortion and 'sensible' gun laws, etc.

Were he to get the nomination, though, I could not support the party. He'd be more dangerous than Hillary! just because he has the R behind his name ala Ahnold, Bloomberg, Spectre and the NE RINOs - getting considerable knee-jerk 'conservative' support for what would be a pretty darned liberal aganda cheered by the NYTimes & and the WSJournal alike. No thanks. At least with a President Hillary! or Osama Obama darn near all conservatives would pull together to oppose them.

RUDY in a circle with a slash.

Unfortunately, many Conservatives will............

“Best Opus Ever!

I laughed! I cried! It was much better than Cats!

I liked it so much, I tore my thumbs off! TWO BLOODY STUMPS UP!”

That reminds me of Selma Diamond on Night Court. LOL

48%....never, under any circumstances, in this or any known solar system vote for Hillary for president

I quite hopefully subscribe to Rusher's now becoming-conventional wisdom. What worries me is Bill Clinton, who is a most highly skilled political operative. My Demo Dream (make that a nightmare) Ticket? Gore/Obama. VP Is perfect for the callow youth, Obama. Call him the mulatto Dan Quayle. As PresCand, Obama is a negative. As VPCand, Obama could be a big winner. Gore is very much back on the map with this Global Warming hooie, which is an MSM-backed Cult. This could hurt.

Who can stand up for the Republicans and lay out the science-based case that Global Warming has nothing much to do with mankind? Didn't you notice the way Gingrich practically jumped into Kerry's lap on this? I wish Bush, in his waning days, would get a model of the Milankovitch Cycle made and hold a series of 'Fireside Chats' about it. The MSM and Public Schrool people have the children terrified. There was even a Sunday Show about how Global Warming would especially affect Minorities, Women, and Children!

2008? Sure, have fun slicing and dicing Rudy. He richly deserves it. But as far as winning in 2008, he's really a very small part of our problem.

Right now 48% of the electorate hates, loathes, and abominates Hillary? "OK," says Bill Clinton, "that gives me 52% to work with. If I and the MSM can engender a Republican-Conservative split, we can take it. Remember, I took it with 42%. That means up to 58% of the American voters hated me ... and I got 8 years!"

Good grief, this thread is approaching 500 posts?

500 posts saying they don’t care about a whiney opus?

That’s a whole lot of effort put into not caring.
