Heresy is going against religious dogma. It is not limited to the Catholic Church. Christianity as a whole is against abortion. Anyone professing to be a Christian, who also professes support for abortion in any way, is a heretic. Period. The same is true of anyone professing support for acceptance of gay and lesbian lifestyles within the Church. Such lifestyle is an abomination against God, as is abortion.

Well, us Orthodox knew that about her a long time ago. Of course, in her case, the Latins agree with us.

I'm not impressed because the Archbishop doesn't deny that Pelosi is Catholic.

Archbishop Raymond Burke, prefect of the Supreme Tribunal of the Apostolic Signatura, the highest judicial authority of the Holy See, said this week that Catholics who publicly support abortion -- especially politicians -- should not receive Communion, and that ministers of Communion should be responsibly charitable in denying it to them if they ask for it “until they have reformed their lives.”

But they are still Catholic. So what does a heretic have to do to get excommunicated?

Ask a Catholic.

AMEN. I hope they do, finally. It’s time to stand up to these people who pretend to be Catholic.

You realize of course that the pope would have to be excommunicated also. Or do you believe that popes are exempt from exalting the high standards of Canon Law? If the pope should remove cowardly and compromising bishops because they tolerate professing Catholics that aid and abet the abortion practice, then why shouldn’t the pope also be removed for electing to be quiet?

The pope could be excommunicated for that? Hmmm. Never gave it any thought. I thought the pope was infallible.
