  • Alaska upset flashes warning signs for GOP

Reading that last post was painful.

Palin’s eldest daughter is a successful Real Estate executive in Texas who has built her own business.

Palin’s middle daughter is married to a professional Rugby player and she has twin girls and lives in Alaska. She has a career as a beautician.

Palin’s youngest, Piper, got a nurses license and works at a beauticians outfit in Phoenix. She is also gainfully employed.

Your post was ill-advised. And I’m being charitable.

Her “family turmoil” is old news.

The kids are all out of the house except Trig, everyone has moved to Arizona or Texas except Track who is living on his own. This is really a non-issue and if she’s attacked about it, she’ll flip it to her advantage.

    This is a 2010 argument.

I suspect that Trump had planned on supporting a Palin run against Murky. However, Don Young’s death, and the chaos of Alaska’s Jungle Primary process, probably necessitated Palin jumping in to hold that seat. His endorsement will go a long way up there.

However, Palin will have to campaign like she did in 2006 for Governor if she wants to win. Alaskans will want to be asked for their votes.

Palin was actually targeted by the Obama White House and NO ONE in the GOP lifted a finger to help her out.

The same GOP stood idly by whilst she was accused of beam accessory to murder during the Gabby Giffords affair in 2011. I really don’t pay attention to the uninformed who criticized her for resigning.

Wasn’t Palin a client of Ted Stevens?

I always suspected that one of the reasons that Palin declined to run for POTUS was because of the “accident” that happened to Ted Stevens after he was cleared of the bogus charges that were made against him in 2008. The “career professionals” who concocted the evidence against him were actually promoted in the Holder Justice Department and the FBI. Stevens has planned on getting his seat back from one of the Begich kids who had beat him, but word was he had problems with his small aircraft.

The Young Seat is powerful in Alaska. It’s basically a huge patronage machine, as it’s the only one in the state. If Palin could get Trump’s support and the support of people like DeSantis and make her peace with the Murkowskis, she’d have a Chinaman’s chance.

But don’t kid yourself, Palin would have to go b#lls to the wall retail like she did in 2006 to win the seat. She’d also need to hire a speechwriter. The Biden people have done her a huge favor in that they have poisoned the Democratic Party’s name in that state for a generation.

By running for Young’s seat, she could bury the hatchet with Lisa, which could solve a big problem in the huge clowntard show that is the Republican Party of Alaska.

I wouldn’t mind Palin in the US House at all, and that may be her best shot.

Naturally, she’d have to have Young’s blessing and Laying On Of Hands. It’s basically a Third Senate Seat.

Palin could go retail, get elected, distribute the pork like Young did, then run for her old job again after she rebuilds her patronage network.

    She’s always been an administrator.

I would not at all be surprised if she does that, but it depends on her relationship with Don Young.

I actually agree with you. Senate is a race which allows Palin to do retail Alaska political issues while at the same time commenting on National issues now and again. It’s actually a good comeback venue.

If Palin wants to rebuild her political brand, she has to start in Alaska.

Remember something: Palin has name recognition that other candidates don’t have. She doesn’t need to get in right now.

She can get in in a couple of months and win. But she’ll have to work her a$$ off.

I think this is as good a time as any for Palin to jump back in to Alaska politics.

Her kids are all grown up, except for Trig, and on their own. She’s spent the last twelve years on background in Alaska politics, so she knows that backwards and forwards.

There isn’t a better retail politician in the state than Palin. And she has the advantage of 100% name recognition. Kelly Tshibaka may be a sound conservative and may have a good future in Alaska politics, but she’s an unknown. Palin isn’t.

Bunch of hubcap thieves on this site,

If it wasn’t for Palin, Trump never would have been President.

She just lost her mother in February, something that had to hit her hard. You’d think so called TruCons would get that.

But nope. Anyway, Palin will be fine, whether she runs at Lisa or not. MoFos need to calm down.

Listen, there are few bigger fans of Sarah Palin here than me. I’d love to see her get into this race.

Murkowski is a corrupt Scion of a corrupt political family. She does what she’s told by the Ruling Class to maintain her position. Palin’s race to replace her would be a satisfying populist uprising against a deeply compromised political order. And Trump would likely support her.

But I’m not sure she gets in. She threatened to get in, but I’m not sure that Palin has what it takes to go through the fire anymore. I hope I’m wrong, and I hope she does. But I don’t think she’s going to get in that race.

Palin has been out of the political game in Alaska for a decade, at least. Now she probably has been working in the background with some conservative Alaskans, but her resurgence would be opposed by the state GOP.

She would have to run a populist, door-to-door campaign like she did in 2005 and 2006 for Governor. If she intends to run for Senate, she needs to ramp up shortly after the election and not wait around for lightning to strike. She would also have to create her own insurgent organization that would be able to campaign and go to Washington if she won.

Nobody is going to draft her. She’s going to have to do this herself.

I never begrudged her foray into reality television like a lot of activists did.

I think both of them realized that while four of the Palin kids were going to be self-sufficient, Trig was going to need special needs help at least until he was able to take care of himself in some fashion. I think that one major reason that Palin got into television partly because she understood that there would come a time that there would come a time that a Trust Account would have to be set up for Trig. I don’t think that her critics in the GOP ever thought this out.

And yes, there was the opportunity to get out of the struggling middle class reality of small time Republican politics. Sarah and Todd got to make real money for the first time in their lives.

Her Democratic enemies saw Trig as a point of vulnerability all the way back in 2008. It was one of the reasons they attacked her the way they did in the last year of her Governorship. Her Bushie opponents in the GOP knew this as well, so they simply stood aside rather than pitch in to help.

All that said, some of the reality show pitches were awful (”Judge Sarah”, etc.). I think Palin got out of TV because she figured that she had pushed her 15 minutes to the breaking point. However<If you think Todd Palin had a problem with all that extra money lying around, I suspect that you are mistaken. Just a hunch.

I had held off replying about the divorce of Todd and Sarah Palin until I had a little time to think.

I won't speculate about what it means, other than I suspect that the marriage had hit a wall as far as Todd was concerned, and he had decided to go his own way. This happens after three decades of concerted tumult and change. In addition, Todd and Sarah may have had some deep disagreements over their future together. So he pulled the plug on the marriage.

As to whether there was another man or woman involved, no one can say right now. The fact that none of the gossip sites seem to be reporting anything of that nature seems to indicate that something else broke that marriage up. Todd always seemed to me like a stand-up guy who valued the marriage, as did Governor Palin.

Only a month ago they were in Sturgis, SD, on a biker rally that had become and annual pilgrimage for both of them, and their marriage seemed quite stable. Shortly thereafter, he made the decision to go forward with the divorce. I suspect that this had been brewing for some time, and may have been mutually agreed on between the two of them.

As to what it portends politically for the Governor, we don't know. Palin is now single, and free from potential charges of cheating on her husband. These charges would have come at her any time she had decided to reenter elective politics, not only from the Democrats, but from Republican operatives allied with the Bush Family, Romney and others in the Beltway GOP. But she may have decided to return to politics and Todd may have decided that that wasn't for him.

Palin herself won’t leave Alaska, but now that her kids are grown, she can get back into elective politics, especially since McCain is dead and Trump is her Patron.

Remember, had she entered the 2012 race, McCain would have backstabbed her, we know that now. This despite her 2010 endorsement against JD Hayworth. She was never going to run in 2016 because Trump had the money and Palin knew she still had family issues. Now she only has Trig to look after.

Palin will get back in somehow, and it will be in Alaska.

She did go looking for Defense fund money, you fool. I warched the whole thing unfold.

But the Bush GOP told her flat out they weren’t going to help her remain in office. And why?

Because they thought she was a potential threat to Jeb 2016. So the Establishment did what comes naturally to them: they helped the Democrats.

Well now, ain’t Karma a b*tch. Nice to see the A$$ Clown GOP get its ass handed to it and Palin’s friend Trump, who could defend himself all on his own, in the White House.

    This is nonsense, respectfully.

Lieberman was a Kennedy liberal who had been manhandled by Dick Cheney in the 2000 debate. His nomination would have led to a walkout on the Convention floor, probably engineered by the very Bushies who were quietly assisting the Obama Campaign.

Palin was the right choice, and is wise to remain silent during McCain’s passing.
