Mitt Romney will campaign in Pennsylvania on Sunday, the first time he's campaigned in the state in many weeks, a Romney campaign official told The Hill. Romney's campaign has been increasingly bullish about its prospects in the state, launching its first ad there earlier this week. A number of GOP outside groups have also bought millions of dollars in airtime for the final push there. Obama's campaign has scoffed at Romney's push in Pennsylvania and other states they previously haven't contested, although they are investing in ads to combat the GOP outside group's efforts.

November 1, 2012 Pew: Yup, Romney's Leading in Early Voting By Guy Benson 11/1/2012 Â Welcome to November. Â Earlier in the week, one of the oldest and most respected polling firms in America -- Gallup -- produced results based on thousands of voter contacts indicating that Mitt Romney is leading in national early voting by roughly six percentage points. Â Last night, another venerable polling outfit confirmed Gallup's findings with a survey of its own. Â From Pew Research: Â The Pew Research Center survey found that the race is even among all likely voters nationwide (47% Obama, 47% Romney). Unlike...

Dominican hookers, to be specific. This is what we’re hearing about the sex scandal involving a “powerful senator” in a headline being touted by Drudge, with a story by the Daily Caller promised late tonight. UPDATE: Shortly after the Drudge Report headline went up, my associate Ali Akbar got a tip that the story involved Sen. Menendez of New Jersey and at least one prostitute with whom he trysted on a taxpayer-funded trip to the Dominican Republic. Within one hour, Akbar had confirmed this with other sources, and we understand that numerous reporters in D.C. have heard similar reports. UPDATE...

Very sorry about the problems with our servers causing FR to get bogged down under peak traffic loads. Praying that John finds a solution or workaround soon. In the meantime, here are some suggestion you can use to possibly make your FR pages load faster: Configure your sidebars to display fewer items. I've temporarily disabled all sidebars but breaking news on mine. Select "Disabled" in the "Region" pulldown for each sidebar block you wish to temporarily disable then click "Modify": http://www.freerepublic.com/perl/manage-blocks Reduce the number of threads and replies downloaded on each click. The U.S. Mission in Benghazi convened an “emergency meeting” less than a month before the assault that killed Ambassador Chris Stevens and three other Americans, because Al Qaeda had training camps in Benghazi and the consulate could not defend against a “coordinated attack,” according to a classified cable reviewed by Fox News. Summarizing an Aug. 15 emergency meeting convened by the U.S. Mission in Benghazi, the Aug. 16 cable marked “SECRET” said that the State Department’s senior security officer, also known as the RSO, did not believe the consulate could be protected...

With less than a week before the election, the race for the White House is dead even: Barack Obama and Mitt Romney receive 46 percent each, according to a Fox News poll of likely voters. Romney had a razor-thin 46-45 percent edge earlier this month, after the first presidential debate (October 7-9). Interviews in areas affected by Hurricane Sandy were completed before Monday evening, when the hurricane made landfall. Independents give the edge to Romney by seven percentage points (46-39 percent). That’s down from a 12-point advantage in early October. There’s a gender gap in vote preference, as men back...

IOWA CITY, iowa --- A new Hawkeye Poll showing Mitt Romney with a slight lead over President Obama probably is all that’s needed to explain why both candidates will be in Iowa Saturday. The poll, released Oct. 31, found Romney leading the president 45.2 percent to 44.4 percent among voters who said they plan to vote.

Just as the presidential race is deadlocked in the campaign’s final days, the candidates are also running about even when it comes to the ground game. Voters nationally, as well those in the closely contested battleground states, report being contacted at about the same rates by each of the campaigns. And with a fifth of likely voters reporting already having cast their ballots, neither Barack Obama nor Mitt Romney has a clear advantage among early voters. This is in sharp contrast to early voting at this point four years ago, which favored Obama by a wide margin.

Via the Daily Caller, Newt Gingrich thinks that the Benghazi scandal might blow wide open over the next two days, thanks to e-mails that he claims two networks now possess from the office of the National Security Advisor, Tom Donilon. According to a "reliable Senator" who tipped him to the information, Gingrich says that the e-mails came in response to the request to aid the consulate in Benghazi after the attack began, and asserted that the attack wasn't a terrorist action and therefore didn't need a response:CLICK ABOVE LINK FOR THE VIDEO “There is a rumor — I want to...

The Roanoke College Poll interviewed 638 likely voters in Virginia between Oct. 23 and October 26 and has a margin of error of +4 percent. My pal Guy Benson found a juicy nugget that helps to bring more clarity to the news from Gallup yesterday that shows Romney leading Obama in the early vote by a full seven points, 52-45%. Almost exactly four years ago (October 28, 2008), according to Gallup, Obama was massacring John McCain among early voters with a fifteen-point lead, 55-40%. That means, at least according to Gallup, that Obama's early vote advantage has dropped 22 points when compared to '08. Benson also notes that the percentage of voters who have or intend to vote early was 33% in 2008 and remains...
