I don't care if a liberal judge, moderate judge, or conservative judge retires, Bush has promised he will appoint originalists to the court. The idea is not to keep the status quo and replace a moderate judge with a moderate. Who currently on the Supreme Court can we be somewhat confident would vote to overturn Roe. V. Wade and how many more do we then need for Bush to appoint to have the 5 to do so? (include Renquist as yes vote as we can assume when he retires his whoever takes over for him will be pro-life. Anyone know when Senator Bill Frist will ask for a vote on cloture again for Bolton? Supposively we have the votes now, but I am just wondering when he will actually call for the vote again.

Anyone know if the constitutional option will apply for all presidential nominees or just judicial nominees? With the Dem's looking to maybe filibuster Bolton too, I think Frist should declare any filibuster on a presidential nominee as against the rules if he isn't going to already. After all, the clause in the constitution that we we refer to to back up our claim that filibustering judicial nominees is unconstiutioonal doesn't just talk about judicial nominees, but any presidential nominee!!!

Sorry for the vanity, but this whole entire filibuster of presidential nominees gets me so angry. There is a simple message in all of this garbage going on. Every person that Bush nominates for any court, department, agency, etc., is mandated by the constitution to get an up or down vote on the senate floor. From what I am aware, isn't the filubustering of any presidential appointment unconstitutional? If Frist does go nuclear (or constitutioal as we like to say), shouldn't he do so for all presidential appointments? While I hate the filubuster period, the Senate has the authority under the constitution to use it on legislation.
