Luring some of Britain’s 15,000 vampires out of the shadows is no easy task. And Dr Emyr Williams won’t be inviting them out for a drink. The psychologist is investigating the ‘underground network’ of real-life vampires who gather in secret to suck blood from willing volunteers. He aims to shed light – although it might be best if he doesn’t do it literally – on members of a subculture he claims is ‘fascinating and all very real’. He has produced an online questionnaire to learn more about them. ‘Vampires are a group of people who drink blood, but their well-established...

t’s been a disastrous couple of weeks for President Barack Obama. His signature legislation, the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, is a slow-motion train wreck. His poll numbers have tanked. Now, things have gotten so bad for Obama that former president Jimmy Carter has called President Obama incompetent in the family-friendly pages of Parade magazine. “He’s done the best he could under the circumstances,” Carter said of Obama in an interviewed published on Thursday. “His major accomplishment was Obamacare, and the implementation of it now is questionable at best.” (RELATED: Jimmy Carter: America no longer has a functioning democracy)...

Portland: A naked man, playing violin in front of a downtown Portland courthouse on Saturday, refused to walk to a squad car and had to be carried by police. Police say they are not sure of the man’s identity. He told them his name is Matthew T Mglej and that he is 25 years old. Even the brand of the violin remains unknown. Mglej was jailed under the Portland city code forbidding indecent exposure. Police say they warned the man numerous times about his ‘lack of attire’, but he refused to dress himself or leave public view. City police refrain...

Dogs are known for their loyalty to their owners – but it seems this doesn’t extend to one other. This YouTube video shows Cody the dog being sold out by his ‘friends’ after they were asked who had made a mess on the floor. Two of the hounds, Murphy and Maggie, weren’t to be tarred with Cody’s brush during the interrogation and were quick to give up their pal. Rather than stick up for himself, though, the guilty party knew the game was up and retreated back to the bedroom. Safe move.

Telesales reps have been asked to reveal the cruellest things people have said to them over the phone. Cold callers of reddit disclosed the harshest and most bizarre put-downs they have suffered, presumably before being hung up on by disgruntled members of the public. No one like being disturbed by strangers wasting their time with sales talk and most of us do not appear to be shy about telling random callers exactly what they think.

Authorities say a man stole a New York City bakery truck and began delivering loaves of bread to random businesses. Police say David Bastar hopped into the Grimaldi's Home of Bread truck on Manhattan's Upper East Side early Monday while the real driver was making a delivery at a pizzeria. Wearing only his underwear, Bastar then allegedly began dropping off baguettes, whole-wheat rolls and sourdough bread - but not to the bakery's customers. Joe Grimaldi is the owner of the Queens bakery. He says the bandit "dropped a lot of bread" worth about $5,000. He says the bakery later accommodated...

A man was killed by a mob Monday in Koudougou, a town in central Burkina Faso, after being accused of making another man’s penis “disappear”. It was not an isolated incident: there has been an increase in the number of these strange accusations being made in recent weeks. This lynching took place in the 10th district of Koudougou, in the city’s west. It all started with a fight at a restaurant between two men: one accused the other of having cast a spell on him simply by touching him. The first man, a local mechanic, claimed that his penis had been...

-snip- Thanks to conservative writer and Red State editor Erick Erickson, Davis will forever be known as “Abortion Barbie.” The moniker is a bit insulting but apropos given her steadfast defense of abortion on demand. And when Davis was in Los Angeles for a swanky fundraiser with he left-wing buddies to help her campaign back home in the Lone State State, it was not ironic that she was confronted with posters reminding her of her single-handed defense of late-term abortions. -snip-

The last thing the woman from Northeast Portland probably expected when she got up Tuesday morning was that she would be attacked by a sword-wielding elf. But that's what happened around 7 a.m. as she drove her red BMW by the intersection of Southeast 7th and Morrison. A man dressed in chain-mail with a helmet, shield and carrying a sword and staff ran into traffic and started attacking her car.

The Ukrainian army apparently left this fully gassed-up tank on a street near Mariupol. Naturally, people got curious — and then they got handsy. Not content with gawking at the outside of the tank, they started crawling inside, and inevitably, someone managed to fire off the still-loaded cannon. Abandoned tanks: All fun and games until someone loses a torso.

The advert, posted on buy-sell site Blocket, quickly went viral after the man marked it as '300kg Lego - save my marriage' on the popular Swedish website. "You can make a difference! Save my marriage. The old bag said last Friday 'now get this shit out.' I don't know if it was me or the Lego she was talking about but I think it was the Lego," the man...

The advice books written around the turn of the 20th century to teach women to make men happy are plentiful. Advice books in the same vein for men are rare. But in 1883, a Methodist minister named George W. Hudson wrote one such "advice for men" book—The Marriage Guide for Young Men: A Manual of Courtship and Marriage. It was self-published, perhaps due to perceived lack of interest in marriage manuals for men. Or maybe because traditional publishers couldn’t handle all the hard-core truth the Reverend was going to throw down.
