Oh no, I’m here by myself...again!
We’re going to have a winter storm here, promising something like 10 inches of snow and winds (whiteouts are NOT fun!) Nan and I are going to stay home and play house, I hope you all are better off weatherwise!
Tis the season for plotbunnies -

serious or just for funnies
(I gotta get to sleep, fingers getting sore).
If I let them in I’ll perish —
laptop wants a break, and I’m just getting poor.
Once I had a life to cherish —
ideas run amok — someone shut that door!
Plot bunnies, for the uninitiated, are story ideas that pop up and demand attention even (and especially) when you are in the midst of writing something else. I had one attack that got finished this week, and have three others in the works, and two on the back burner as I speak....
Defeat those plotbunnies!
(I have to do the same thing, and it takes time I need to finish work in progress!)
I finally have gotten used to putting them down on a digital recorder and getting back to them another time.
Only way to keep what limited sanity I have!!!
This morning we will try something a little different with breakfast:
- Assorted Fancy Pastries
- Assorted Fresh Fruit
- Hot Oatmeal
- Ham and Cheese filled Croissants
- Columbian Coffee
- Milk
- Tea

Meg, my daily newspaper is weakening my strong defense of not having a cat. Yesterday, they published a pic from the ASPCA of a Tortoise Shell five year old cat. She is a beauty and holds the record for being at the shelter the longest of any cat. I had to fight myself to stay away from the phone.
It’s just to hard for me to have any pets now, not that I would not love to have one. ;0)
I think an older indoor cat would be lovely for you! They are really not demanding. I wish you could have one.
I have begun to learn the art of writing multiple projects at once...I work on one, switch file, work on another, switch file....Now I write with four or five files open...and have another file to put the raw bunnies in so I won’t forget the good ideas....
But I don’t write nonstop. I can’t stay away from the net long enough. The writing puter’s in the other room...
Ten inches of wind driven snow? Where the hell are you, Alaska? It’s a little early for that amount of snow, isn’t it?

LOL, love the text, just perfect.
That is how I got Calli. Rescued her form the Humane Society. Calli is a Tortoise Shell calico and 6 years old now.
The Power of Water
Water’s shape is round,

This is an adaptation from a 16th century text on Budo (but I forget who right now, and I’m too lazy to look it up.) It’s highly adapted, and is pretty much a choka, a Japanese longer poem. In this case, it’s a series of 5,7,5 syllables. Something that’s from the fan fiction I’m writing, the Evil in Men’s Hearts.
Well, Howdy NYA, I was beginning to think you were drowned in a flood of work.
Yes, this kitty is a calico with a very endearing face. She is calling me, calling me.
This is very beautiful, wonderful visuals. The last line is just plain magic, so pure and simple.
Drowning in work, yes I am. They finally updated the site to have computers. We no longer have to communicate by smoke signal. Once I saw Calli it was all over. She was in the shelter for a long time. The true test is if you can walk away after seeing her and petting her.
You need a cat and more importantly, a cat needs you.
They care for themselves and don’t need to be walked.
They love you and keep you warm and help you sleep.
There is one down at the shelter waiting for you, hoping to have a loving person to rescue him from that cold caged place that scares him so much.
Please get a kitten.

Nope, Minnesota (or as we call it, Manytaxasota) We often have worst winters then Anchorage Alaska. Right now its snowing up a fine mess, and the temp is 17 degrees, and tonight is supposed to hit a balmy 20, before it falls into the single digits for Sunday. When immigrants wrote home to the old country and told family member to come here they always recommended that they ‘bring warm clothes!’ I just watched the city snow plow come down my street for the fifth time today, and I know he’ll be back a time or two yet today.

Yep, and for good reason, it gets damn cold here!
In fact all the major car companies park test cars on some of the frozen lakes up north and leave them for winter testing (really!) International Falls, Minnesota (northern border) is the test site used most often, it gets colder then any other accessible place in the US, and is a perfect cold-weather test area, even the Air Force did cold weather testing her at the old airbase up north neat the area.
Google in your spare time. I have done a lot of research in an attempt to find a less pricey retirement place than MA that has decent weather.
It’s doable, though none too exciting.
I don’t mind mild winters but can’t stand heat and humidity, which narrows things down a lot.

Correct, its lightly populated though that wasn’t always the case. The Iron industry took a hit from cheap imported steels, and then other things happened to drive the folks away. Especially since the ‘Hate Corporations’ state tax policies drove a lot of the business out of the area!
A cold place like that would be great for steel production.
Sounds like Taxachusetts, taxing coporations out. Of course, Taxachusetts taxes everything at least once.

I went shopping..got a fresh wreath and wired decor on it for the front door..I have needles all over the floor and on the carpet..but the door looks nice..It’s going to take 3 days to clean up the mess I am making decorating..LOL
My back hurts...of course.
