We had a great time at our freep this afternoon, FREEPERS starting to show up around 2 PM with their signs and masks. Some other splinter groups were there to join in the fun as well as some residents who just hated the dragon lady. Many were honking their horns as they drove by. The Dragon Lady came late as usual while her minions waited in the heat from 7AM!! Check back later for the pictures.

Those who were in attendance were: Firebrand; Race Bannon; Doctor Raoul; Coleus; Captain Culpepper; ml/nj; Ziva; kphockey2; Exit 148; I hope I remembered everyone, if not just add your name.

We got the word out about free republic and recruited some people to come and join us. Some heard about us on the Sean Hannity Show and came down to meet us after that, it was Race Bannon who called from his cell phone, they kept him on hold for about an hour.

News 12 was there and took some video; however, they did not show us on TV.

It was nice seeing all you again from the tri-state chapter of the Free Republic and good to meet the new freepers who came down. Some stayed in the background a little bit since they were new at the game and were glad they showed up and will probably see them again. Ok, gotta to the airport now, see ya later, Until next time...

It was fun. Thanks for your kind words. As usual, it was a team effort from good down-to-earth conservatives. We try our best with what we have. I'm so glad we were heard on Sean's show, I know the FR has been mentioned before on his show, but I think this time, with his special program/concert, many more listeners were at hand. There were a lot of Tri state freepers at his concert so we would have had more at the Freep. Anyway, we had a message for America and we were heard. God Bless America and the 1st Amendment and the FR.

There was a big crowd, waiting in beach chairs with umbrellas.

There was one guy there when I got there, with signs saying Hillary 3008. He said he was a solo act and had not seen the freep mentioned on Free Republic.

Then shortly after I arrived kphockey2 and Race showed up. And then the rest.

We had help from a sweet young girl from Brooklyn who had gone over with her sister, who was a Hillary fan. She and her friends helped us hold the big banner (abner's?) that said "American Can't Trust Hillary."

Later a guy named Ken joined us, and after the Hannity announcement, a guy who had been barbecuing in his back yard and dropped everything when he heard that we were in Ridgewood. After the freep, he pointed us to a great bar called The Office and even bought us a round of drinks.

We got lots of attention from the Ridgewood folks. The prevailing opinion seemed to be that Ridgewood used to be a great conservative town until they put in the train station and all the liberals started moving in from New York, sopping up the schools system for 20 years, and then moving out again after their families were grown. The crowd seemed less responsive than the Manhattan and Huntington crowds, but maybe it was the heat.

Secret Service guys went through our bags. Never had that done before, but it's a good thing. The Ridgewood cops were nice but kept us from using the banner because they wouldn't let us stand in the street or across driveways so that the people on the other side of the street could have an unobstructed view. So we had to give up on the banner. Thank you, RonDog, for sending it across the mountains and the plains. Who wants it next? Plus masks, we have masks.

The crowd waiting for The Hill seemed to be mostly women. They were patient and quiet for the most part. They looked at us, but showed very little emotion. BUT, one time, when a guy was walking the length of their line, he flashed us the finger, over and over. That woke them up! They shouted in agreement with him, which only proved that our presence got to them!! We of course let him know that he was showing his 'liberal IQ'!!

There was a trash receptacle on our side, and none on the other side. One 50-60ish woman came over to drop her water bottle in it. She didn't say anything until she turned her back and started to cross back. She coudn't help herself and just had to toss a nasty comment to Race -- saying he looked better in his demon msk than without it! We gave it to her - in spades! She retreated!

Another guy came to get in his car, which was on our side. He had to throw invectives at us and to see him go after Race was funny! This man was about 5'2 and stupid! The police officer, on our side, finally calmed this idiot down and he went on his way.

It is amazing to hear some of the comments. One man on line decided to give it to us and hollered something about the WMD and Halliburton. He was just yelling sound bytes - no substance. I started laughing -- really laughing at him. He really thought he had us with that comment, and he looked at me in disbelief that I would laugh at him.

The police were nice. They asked Raoul not to use the bull-horn as they didn't want the Hill crowd to get riled up. We complied. They said they had to be neutral, but I got the feeling that they had personal feelings, too. They were very,very nice to us.

One older woman (80's) came by with her son and spoke with me. The man was on our side and made some comments about
Hillary. But not his Mother!!! She said it was about time we had a woman president. I said "How about Condi Rice?" I might as well have been talking to the moon. The woman read my sign "Mendacious Memoirs". She asked what 'mendacious' meant. The woman had an accent, so her English was not the best. I told her it meant that Hillary was a liar. You hould have seen the face she gave me! LOL! Her son pulled her away.

A good day! Hot! But satisfying --and BackDoor Hill didn't disappoint us --- she used the back way!
