Just in. I am looking at a picture of the WTC with smoke pouring out of the western tower. Looks like a huge amount of damage. Debris raining down on people in the street.

I lost a good friend that day. Steven Cafiero. He worked for Aon in the South Tower. He was above where the plane hit. He worked on the 92nd floor. He was the best guy.
So many wonderful people lost that day.

Do you realize in retrospect that it took you only 20 minutes to figure out the right answer...

At the time, it was only gut instinct to name bin Laden.

I've tried to go back to figure out how I was able to name bin Laden. As best as I can analyze what I was thinking, I had been reading the New York Daily News' coverage of the trials of the bombers of our embassies in Kenya and Tanzania (of the Post, NYT and the Daily News, the DN had the best coverage). One of them was due to be sentenced that week. I had thought it was a jail break because the jail/courthouse was so close to the WTC, but I don't think I posted it--it was just one of those passing silly thoughts. I had also watched "Behind the Veil" (I think that's the title), a CNN documentary about the Taliban's treatment of women in Afghanistan the previous Sunday.

It still sickens me to know I was right.
