President Bush: "We are dealing with one of the worst national disasters in our nation's history." Push has appropriated vast federal resources to assist with the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.

78,000 people are currently in shelters. New Orleans evacuation continues. 10,000 additional National Guard troops have been called to service.

Hospitals are running low on supplies, and public health concerns include water borne disease, poor sanitation, food and drinking water contamination and shortages, mosquitoes, carbon monixide poisoning from electricity generators, lack of childcare, and the special needs of the elderly.

A story began circulating Wednesday that a gang of bikers left New Orleans, en route to Baton Rouge to loot the city with guns stolen from Wal-Mart.

Wow there are some wild stories going around.

the LA Lt. Gov. was making excuses about storm coming too fast, etc. etc.

The Lt Gov is Mary Landrieu's brother. Need I say more? :o)

NORTHSHORE NEWS UPDATE: Law enforcement over there have blocked every bridge and road into the area with SWAT and regular patrols to prevent "looters"(aka insurgents) from bringing their party north.

US MARINES:USMC son called me about 11 CST and was YELLING into the phone "WHY THE F^CK DON'T THEY SEND US IN TO STOP THIS SH!T NOW!!" He grew up in NOLA and Slidell.

No leadership = no control.

I don't know who is in charge. Guiliani was all over the place. You don't see the mayor or the Governor.

I read on another thread the mayor was not in New Orleans anymore. Does anyone have confirmation on that?

That's exactly what I am referring to in my posts. I say be prepared because eventually it's coming.

Just imagine how well the plans will work on the ground when this is a biological, chemical, or radiation attack against a major city. Those plans better include controlling civil disorder better than the NO democrats' plans for hurricane aftermaths.

We would have had special forces in there putting this down 48 hours ago.

Yep, the *problems* would not now be so organized & (better) armed.

Anyone shooting @ any emergency workers should be shot.

OK Freepers, let's keep on turning this outward now.

From our keyboards to our elected officials. Federal, whomever. The White House.

They need to hear from us DIRECTLY now with the intensity that this internal discussion on FR has been taking place.

I'm glad he's armed. You all be very careful out there. I'm concerned we are going to see civil unrest spread to other areas.
