On Friday, contractor-turned-whistleblower Adam Dillon told New Orleans television station WDSU he was fired “after taking photos that he believes were related to the use of dispersants and to the cleanup of the oil.” As a BP liaison, he had rebuffed reporters’ attempts to observe cleanup operations in Grand Isle, LA, in June, before being promoted to the BP Command Center near Houma, LA. At the command center BP manages the private contractors running practically every aspect of the spill response. Dillon, a former U.S. Army Special Operations soldier, “has lost faith in the company in charge.”

Starting today, anyone with a blog or website can use the new Raise Your Vote widget to register voters right from their site. [snip]
My non-lawyer’s take — voter registration is different in each state, which I guess means that each state is sovereign regarding how voters are registered.
“Democratic state parties, blogs, and other partners and groups will now be able to easily register voters through their pages, as well as get access to the names and email addresses of those who they register.”
This registration process is slipshod on purpose ...

Sketchy studies — what I have so far:
In 1922 the NAACP began receiving grants from communist-linked people/funds [the Communist-linked Garland Fund, whose officials included William Z. Foster, Benjamin Gitlow, Elizabeth Gurley Flynn, Scott Nearing.]
The most interesting grant funder was American Civil Liberties Union founder Roger Baldwin. Baldwin’s inspiration was Emma Goldman, who was one of the leaders who attempted to block workers from a steel mill with lethal force [on behalf of union ‘rights’]. They fought a long battle with Pinkerton dectectives that resulted in several deaths. Her co-leader shot and stabbed one of the partner-owners of the plant. [The other co-partner was Carnegie — a generous man, BTW.]
Goldman not only inspired the ACLU founder, but it was her influence that led to the assassination of President McKinley — leading to America’s first progressive president — Teddy Roosevelt. Thanks to Emma Goldman, progressivism was crammed down America’s throat by the murder of a patriotic president. J Edgar Hoover eventually managed to deport her and her violent partner. They were such malcontents that they left Red Russia and wrote books ranting against Russia’s new tyranny. This was the guiding light of the ACLU, and the undercurrent driving most progessive radicals at the time.
In 1938 the NAACP was represented at the Soviet-controlled World Youth Congress, and during the 1940s it was affiliated with the Communist-involved World Federation of Democratic Youth. In 1946 the NAACP gave support to the establishment of the Communist-dominated Progressive Party, which would run former FDR Vice President Henry Wallace for President in the 1948 election.

Shauna Daly, a 29-year-old Democratic operative, was named last month to the new job of White House counsel research director. Though she is inside one of the most powerful legal offices in the land, Miss Daly holds no law degree and doesn’t list any legal training on her resume. Her sole experience has been as an opposition researcher for Democratic political campaigns: She helped dig up dirt on rivals, or on her own nominee to prepare for attacks.
The addition to White House counsel Greg Craig’s staff has alarmed some Republicans, who consider it a politicization of the office, and has irritated others who say that Democratic lawmakers who railed against Republican opposition researchers in legal positions in the past are now silent.
