I believe it would be beneficial to have some quotes taken from interviews Beth, Dave, and others did, just to refresh our memories.
I am going to attempt to post quotes from an interview each day, as time permits.

Todays quotes are from an interview on the

7-15-2005 Nancy Grace
http://transcripts.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/0507/15/ng.01.html

SUSAN CANDIOTTI, CNN CORRESPONDENT:
However, something rather curious. I`m hearing from a law enforcement source close to the investigation that the FBI, who has been there from the start at the invitation of Aruban authorities -- FBI has been asking for access to interviews, to evidence, to various materials that have been gathered along the way, has asked for it on more than one occasion.

And yet, they have been denied access to that information for review, as it`s been explained to me, give it some fresh perspective, for example.
Also, I`ve learned, according to the same source close to the investigation, that, for example, the FBI has provided a profiler along the way, as has the Dutch, and has given advice, among other things, on how to interview, for example, Joran Van Der Sloot, the 17-year-old son of the judge, and certain techniques.
That advice, I`m told, has not been accepted or utilized by the FBI. Now, how do we know this? Well, we know that the FBI has been allowed to observe interr ogations and interviews. They have been able to observe searches. Primarily, they`re not -- I`ve been told not been able to enter residences, participate in the arrests, which is probably not surprising.
http://transcripts.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/0507/15/ng.01.html

GRACE: Susan, Susan, Susan, hold on. Take a look at the monitor, if you can see it, Susan. I`m not an FBI agent, but I know this much. You don`t handcuff two co-defendants together that you`re trying to keep separate so they gel their stories perfectly.

Speaking of the way the defendants are treated, there`s a perfect example for the whole world to see.
http://transcripts.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/0507/15/ng.01.html

CANDIOTTI: CANDIOTTI: Well, certainly, you`ve had comments on that leading up to this, because you`ve seen this for quite some time now. And there are those who obviously don`t agree with that way of doing things.
But you know, we`ve talked to a spokesperson for the government. We`ve talked to, and perhaps more importantly, a spokesperson for the prosecutor`s office to try to get a response to this. And they are stressing only the cooperation, which no one disputes that there is a rapport that they`re working together.
But we couldn`t get a clear-cut answer on why it is that the FBI has not been provided access to review these materials, other than, "Well, we discuss things, and we decided not to." And also, they`ve been told that they can`t have access to it because, as I understand it, the local rules do not permit it.
http://transcripts.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/0507/15/ng.01.html

GRACE: Speaking of diving, also, Susan Candiotti, I understand there were divers near the Marriott Hotel today?

CANDIOTTI: Well, my information is that -- and perhaps your guest there from the Texas company can confirm this -- that a barrel was found floating somewhat near the Marriott. And it was brought to the attention of the authorities -- I`m told the FBI was also made aware of this -- but went nowhere.
It was described to me as being highly corroded, and had some old cement in it. I am told that on the island there is an old oil refinery. So it`s not uncommon to find these barrels floating around. In fact, it was suggested it might have even been an old buoy from the area. Bu that went nowhere.
http://transcripts.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/0507/15/ng.01.html

GRACE: Let me go to Natalee`s mother. Beth Holloway Twitty is with us tonight. As you can see, she is not giving up on the search for her daughter. She`s handing out there handing out flyers, she`s appearing on TV practically on a nightly basis, begging for help regarding her daughter.
Ms. Twitty, thank you for being with us. What do you make of inviting the FBI down to help and then giving them the cold shoulder, not sharing any files, not letting them help with questioning of any of the suspects?

BETH HOLLOWAY TWITTY, MOTHER OF NATALEE HOLLOWAY: You know, Nancy, it`s really difficult for me to comment on that and to speak, you know, on behalf of the FBI. You know, I know there are some areas that we`ve been concerned about.
And, you know, as far as denied certain participation in it, you know, Nancy, I`m just going to have to let them address that. I just cannot get involved in that.
http://transcripts.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/0507/15/ng.01.html

GRACE: You know what, Ms. -- Beth Holloway Twitty is with us tonight. It`s Natalee`s mother. She spoke out against the release of the Kalpoe brothers. After that, she was basically attacked by some of the Aruban people verbally, of course, demanding an apology, decrying her.
Ms. Twitty, I thought that that was entirely wrong, but I respect what you did, making that apology. I know you want to keep it smooth with the people in Aruba to continue getting their cooperation.

TWITTY: Well, Nancy, you know, my heart does go out to the Aruban citizens. And I realize -- you know, as I`m watching that barrel being extracted from the beach today, this is just an all-around just tragic and terrible ordeal that we are all going through.
And, you know, I think at that point, there was just such a huge frustration level for myself and for everyone involved, I just think that that was just probably inevitable that that was going to happen. And, you know, it`s just -- it`s been so difficult, Nancy.
http://transcripts.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/0507/15/ng.01.html

GRACE: I want to go to Tim Miller with EquuSearch. He`s there on his own dime, still looking for Natalee Holloway. Tim Miller, could you tell us where the search is headed now?

TIM MILLER, EQUUSEARCH WORKER: Well, you know what? We`ve covered a lot of stuff, Nancy. The barrel today was something that information was given out to, and Natalee`s dad asked to us check that out.
I think the authorities were notified a couple days ago. And so we went and checked it out. And we spent about three hours on that thing getting it in. It wasn`t floating, by no means. I mean, it was at the bottom. It was nearly all the way under the water.
http://transcripts.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/0507/15/ng.01.html

GRACE: Tim, are Aruban authorities helping in your search?

MILLER: You know what? We`ve not had any problems with them. They have helped us. You know, as far as the Marines coming and us working together and stuff like that, that did not happen. I think we`re getting as much support from them as we can get. I mean, nobody knows...

GRACE: But what are they doing? What are they doing to help you?

MILLER: They`ve given us areas that they wanted us to search. They`ve given us some information, and they always say, "The area I`m sending you to is part of the investigation."

GRACE: So that`s how they`ve helped you, by telling you where to go search?

MILLER: Yes, they`ve told us -- yes, they`ve told us where to search.
http://transcripts.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/0507/15/ng.01.html

GRACE: Very quickly back to Beth Holloway Twitty, Natalee`s mother, when you first saw Joran Van Der Sloot`s father, the so-called judge there in Aruba, what happened?

TWITTY: You know, the first night that I was -- I wouldn`t called it had a meeting with him, but that was in his presence, was on May 31st around 3:00 a.m. And we didn`t have a conversation at that time. He only approached the vehicle that I was seated in.
The first time we had a conversation, of course, was when I went to his home and spent 90 minutes there. And, you know, Nancy, the one thing that I would wish for is that he would step up, and step up, and we`ve had this -- we had a great investigative tool here, this voice analysis system.
It would have just been a huge burden relieved of him if he would have stepped forward, had this voice analysis done. And you know, we wouldn`t still be where we are, we feel, if he would have done that. And that always saddens me that he couldn`t do that. < /DIV>
http://transcripts.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/0507/15/ng.01.html

GRACE: Well, Beth, have any of these people agreed to take a polygraph to clear themselves?

TWITTY: Absolutely not, to my knowledge, Nancy. And that would really, I think, help. I know it`s not admissible in court, but you know, it would certainly be an excellent investigative tool. And I cannot see why we did not utilize it.
http://transcripts.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/0507/15/ng.01.html

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
BETH HOLLOWAY TWITTY, MOTHER OF NATALEE HOLLOWAY: I would like to apologize to the Aruban people and the Aruban authorities if I or my family offended you in any way. It was never my intention to do so. And as the Aruban people, they have been extremely kind and generous and especially supportive of myself and my family during this tragedy.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
GRACE: That is Natalee Holloway`s mother. She has been in Aruba since her daughter went missing, fighting every day to bring her girl home, to find her. When she criticized part of the investigation, she was attacked verbally there in Aruba.
She`s there everyday looking house-to-house, literally looking for her daughter, and then had to give that apology to Aruban citizens.
http://transcripts.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/0507/15/ng.01.html

GRACE: Aruban tourism. .

CANDIOTTI: The effect on it?

GRACE: Yes.

CANDIOTTI: Well, according to them down there, they seem to -- I think by showing, by putting their best foot forward, to show that they`re trying to find Natalee, there is the hope that there will not have -- there will not be a detrimental effect on tourism.
I certainly -- we still hear about people going down there. We`re not hearing of anyone canceling their plans for their trips. I`m sure that may be happening. But overall, I think they feel as though, because they are trying to show the world that they`re trying to do the best they can to find her, that there won`t be any ill effect.
http://transcripts.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/0507/15/ng.01.html

GRACE: GRACE: Alan Ripka, let`s get real, all right? You`re on the other side of the fence from me. There`s no two ways about it, you and Lisa Wayne. You`re defense lawyers; I`m a former prosecutor
But let`s just look at the way this investigation has gone, all right? There was an alleged confession, and they said no, that didn`t happen. Then they said that they had found blood in -- blood, possibly Natalee`s. No, it turned out to be a dog`s blood.
Today, we learned they found bones. Guess what? It was a donkey`s bones. They didn`t seize the car Natalee had been in. They lost precious time. They are not getting records from cell phones, doing wire taps, nothing. It`s been one bungle after the next, Alan.
http://transcripts.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/0507/15/ng.01.html

GRACE: Is it true, Susan Candiotti, reports came to the states that Van Der Sloot`s father said, "No body, no case"?

CANDIOTTI: Yes, I mean, that`s what we`re hearing from our sources and have heard that for quite some time now repeatedly. Remember, they had that time period where they hadn`t been picked up.
So there would have been an opportunity for the father to get together with his son, naturally, and the Kalpoe brothers to have a discussion.
http://transcripts.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/0507/15/ng.01.html

GRACE: There he is, Susan.

CANDIOTTI: And that`s what we have heard was said.

GRACE: That`s really a better shot of his rear end, as I always say, because he runs whenever anybody asks him a question.
http://transcripts.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/0507/15/ng.01.html

GRACE: Beth Holloway Twitty, I think Susan`s right. What do you know of the judge telling his son, "No body, no case"?

TWITTY: You know, I think that I had heard that -- I think that came off maybe a Dutch television program. I`m not certain of that, Nancy.
But, of course, that is a huge concern of mine, because I go back to the beginning of the investigation. And, you know, I think of what the -- all four of the individuals are involved in, when you`re involved in obstruction of justice, and lying to authorities, and implicating innocent people. I mean, I certainly wish those were enforceable laws to some degree, because I feel that all four of those were occurring early on.

Can you type the words to his show-opening yodel?

(I used to be able to yodel along at the same pitch, up to a point - then I grew hair LOL)

I loved Princess Summerfallwinterspring, and those Andy Devine Sugar Pops commercials, too. I sent Annette a love-letter and got a Johnny Tremaine postcard back - I was crushed!

That just sums it up for the contributions of the ALE.

Encouraging Front Page post by Red at Scared Monkeys.
http://www.scaredmonkeys.com/2006/06/30/amigoe-avp-party-leader-mike-eman-%e2%80%98aruba-in-constitutional-crises%e2%80%99/

According to Eman, Aruba is in a constitutional crisis and most of the fundamental institutions in our constitutional order do not function effectively any longer. “Guaranteeing the legal security is a responsibility of the Kingdom. An appeal can be made to the governor as part of this.”

The disarray in Aruba I hope has got the attention of a certain NYC Judge who is considering the jurisdiction of Natalee Holloway family’s civil case. The lack of a competent investigation, questionable rulings by previous judges, home-town croneism and a less than solid political situation in Aruba would hopefully point the Judge to determine that the Holloway’s & Twitty’s could not get a fair trial in Aruba and keep the jurisdiction in NYC.

Full Amigoe story:

ARUBA – “The Aruban parliament is brought to a standstill. There is mention of a deadlock. The most fundamental right of the parliament to request a meeting and also get it, so that the members of parliament can debate on the policy of the country, is annulled due to the position of the chairman of Parliament”, said AVP-party leader Mike Eman.

He said this last Wednesday in front of the entrance of the parliament building. Eman was there together with a delegation of his party and a group of sympathizers and for the seventh time requested the chairman of Parliament for a public meeting during which the ‘measures in the form of increasing the import taxes and excises of the Oduber IV-cabinet’ would be discussed.

After also the 7th request didn’t work out, the AVP-party is now considering an appeal to Governor Fredis Refunjol. According to Eman, Aruba is in a constitutional crisis and most of the fundamental institutions in our constitutional order do not function effectively any longer. “Guaranteeing the legal security is a responsibility of the Kingdom. An appeal can be made to the governor as part of this.”

Eman is of the opinion that the request for a public meeting cannot be neglected. “That is a flagrant violation of the parliamentary right to meet.”

According to AVP, the meeting that they have requested is separate from the process with regard to the National decision. “According to the constitution, the meeting requested by our party has to be continued. The chairman cannot stop this with the excuse that he is waiting for the government to send the National Ordinance.”

The AVP has been trying to meet about the measures of the government since April. The first time was on April 2nd. The chairman of Parliament didn’t react on that though. Therefore, based on article 23 of the ‘Rules of the order for the Parliament, the AVP requested a public meeting with ‘measures in the form of increasing the import taxes and excises of the Oduber IV-cabinet’ as agenda item. The meeting took place on May 10th and was adjourned immediately after it started. The reason for this was that the Parliament had not received all the documents that were needed. AVP says that the documents were received a day later, but the adjourned meeting didn’t continue. An adjourned meeting has to be called again within 30 days after the adjournment, said AVP to the chairman of Parliament, but this didn’t happen. The chairman did organize another public meeting though upon request of the government. Eman calls this a violation of the fundamental right of Members of Parliament.

I just walked in and caught the very end of Greta interviewing Joe Taco. El Taco was defending poor Joran against the awful tapes of Beau Dietl that have been shown this week on TV. I guess El Taco didn't like being called a soft rolled up tortilla. I missed any threats El Taco might have made. He said Joran is working this summer and getting on with his life.

(BEGIN AUDIO CLIP)
DEEPAK KALPOE, SUSPECT IN NATALEE HOLLOWAY DISAPPEARANCE: To tell you quite frankly, dressed like a slut, talked like one, would go in a car with three strange guys, and her mother claiming her to be the goody two-shoes - - enough of the BS already!
(END AUDIO CLIP)
http://transcripts.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/0510/05/ng.01.html

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
NADIRA RAMIREZ, KALPOE BROTHERS` MOM: We said, "No, no, no, Mama. Don`t do it. Don`t do it. Don`t cry. We didn`t do anything." I ask him, "Satish, are you sure you guys didn`t do anything?" "No, Mama. We give that girl (INAUDIBLE) a lift." They don`t even know Natalee. They said she didn`t even introduce herself to them that day or nothing. They didn`t even talk a word with her.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
http://transcripts.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/0510/05/ng.01.html

GRACE: Were you surprised he spoke to you, Mr. Skeeters?
JAMIE SKEETERS, PRIVATE INVESTIGATOR: Yes, I was. Very much so.
GRACE: How`d you get him to talk? You did a lot more than police could do.
SKEETERS: Well, I`m a 38-year veteran of law enforcement and worked the streets for most of that time. And normally, you can talk to people pretty good
http://transcripts.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/0510/05/ng.01.html

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
DEEPAK KALPOE, SUSPECT IN NATAL EE HOLLOWAY CASE: To tell you quite frankly, dressed like a slut, talked like one, would go in a car with three strange guys, and her mother claiming her to be this goody-two shoes. Enough with the B.S. already.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
http://transcripts.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/0510/05/ng.01.html

BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
SKEETERS: If it was an accident, I can help all of you. And if you guys were partying, even if someone had given her a date drug, I`m sure she had sex with all of you.
KALPOE: She did. You`d be surprised how simple it was.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
http://transcripts.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/0510/05/ng.01.html

GRACE: Well, that`s certainly something you want to brag about, Jamie Skeeters. You`d be surprised how simple it was for all three of us to have sex with Natalee Holloway. You know, it makes my stomach turn ov er.
Aruba, I hope you`re listening.
SKEETERS: Yes, I agree with you. They even said how easy it was.
http://transcripts.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/0510/05/ng.01.html

GRACE: When you were talking to him, what was running through your mind when he would come out with this?
SKEETERS: Well, my personal feelings were, I`d like to bury him about six feet under. But my mission was to find Natalee.
Crooks aren`t the smartest people in the world. And I was just letting him continue what he was talking and let him hang himself.
http://transcripts.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/0510/05/ng.01.html

GRACE: Wise strategy. Take a listen to this, Deepak Kalpoe.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
SKEETERS: Sometimes, your closest friends, if they`re worried, and this thing is that big, they`ll burn you.
KALPOE: I don`t have any close fr iends anymore. They`re all gone.
SKEETERS: Really, because of this?
KALPOE: Everything is empty. If I knew where the body is, I would tell them a long time ago, let them start the trial, and get this over with. I don`t care.
The person that saw something in the morning hours...
SKEETERS: That`s the gardener. The gardener is the one that definitely saw you guys at 3:00 when statements were made. This guy remembers exactly the time it was because he couldn`t sleep that night. He identified every one of you in the line up except for one of you. I don`t know which one, you or your brother.
But he didn`t. And he says because the brother was lying in the backseat, and that`s going to kill you.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
http://transcripts.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/0510/05/ng.01.html

GRACE: I want you to hear the uninterrupted sound we have of Deepak Kalpoe. Now, he wants us to believe that all thr ee of these men had consensual sex with the girl and then somebody else came along and kidnapped and killed her. Take a listen.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
SKEETERS: If you did it, don`t take a poly from me or anyone else, because you won`t pass. If you did not do it, you`re foolish. And the question I`ll ask you is if you intentionally killed her?
KALPOE: No.
SKEETERS: If it was an accident, I can help all of you. And if you guys were partying, even if someone had given her a date drug, I`m sure she had sex with all of you.
KALPOE: She did. You`d be surprised how simple it was.
SKEETERS: Let me ask you this. That for 25 bucks, you can pay a bartender to slip your date a date rape drug in her drink. Does that happen?
KALPOE: I never drugged someone.
SKEETERS: No, I`m not saying you. I mean, have you heard that happen?
KALPOE: I haven`t h eard the bartender story. I know there`s a drug called ecstasy. I heard that they slip that into drinks. To tell yo u quite frankly, dressed like a slut, talked like one, would go in a car with three strange guys, and her mother claiming her to be this goody-two shoes. Enough with the B.S. already.
The person that saw something in the morning hours...
SKEETERS: That`s the gardener. The gardener is the one that definitely saw you guys at 3:00 when statements were made. This guy remembers exactly the time it was because he couldn`t sleep that night. (END VIDEO CLIP)
http://transcripts.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/0510/05/ng.01.html

GRACE: You know, it`s amazing to me what you got out of him. And Jamie Skeeters, what do you -- how do you think this statement impacts the case?
SKEETERS: Well, the statement, I think, is the one extremely important evidence. Now, that`s why I`ve stayed out of the media for so long, that I`m from the old school. I believe that you keep integrity and credibility with the evidence.
At this point, this evidence blows Deepak`s alibi out that he didn`t have sex with Natalee, or Joran, or his brother. And we also have a tape, as you probably know, where the mother blows their alibi on the time, as well, which these two things put together -- my partners are Harold Koch (ph) and Johnny Weeks (ph) from Georgia, they -- we did an interview with the mother who just blew his ali bi out.
And this is where -- these two pieces of evidence, I think, if they don`t lose it, if they don`t throw it away, going through you, this show here, they can`t hide it now.
http://transcripts.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/0510/05/ng.01.html

GRACE: Jamie Skeeters, private detective, you`ve done what an entire Aruban police force couldn`t do. Now, will Aruba do anything about it? Stay with us.

Oranjestad, Aruba (AHN) - Authorities say one of the three men held in the disappearance case of Alabama teen Natalee Holloway, tells them something bad happened to the 18-year-old during her visit.

Late Friday, Deputy Police Commissioner, Gerold Dompig, tells The Associated Press the man is leading police to the scene.

On Friday, Prime Minister Nelson Oduber makes a national radio address, saying if anything happened to Holloway it would be bad for the island, long considered one of the safest Caribbean nations to visit, whose main industry is tourism

NBC reports Fri day, FBI agents meet with the girl's parents, telling them the agency could not yet determine if the girl is dead.

In the last pix shown at this link, I've never seen even one person at the hotel, but the wind always appears to be blowing with hurricane force. It looks like someone has a postcard in front of the web-cam; the scene is always the same.

Only the shadows know...lol.
The palm tree shadows are the only thing moving at that resort. Refresh the picture after a couple of minutes, you'll see the shadows growing longer.

You didn't notice him flirting with a waitress a page or so back? He spent all my bunco winnings tipping that waitress and couldn't pay his tab. He got dishpan hands working that tab off.

Kimberly showed a new photo of Natalee, provided by Beth, that was taken just a couple of hours before Natalee disappeared. In the photo, Natalee is on the right and one of her friends, with brunette hair, is on the left.

The witness Carlos the Columbian has been locked up for lying to the police.

Jossy: Carlos confessed to police that he has been lying from the beginning.

Jossy: I am convinced that Natalee was drugged.

Beth: You won't find a photo of Natalee where she was not with her friends. She was always with her friends. It is amazing to me how Van Der Sloot managed to separate Natalee from her friends.

Situation in tourism is bad; fall of tourism because of case of Natalee and distrust in government

Oranjestad (aan) In the tourist sector the situation is very bad because tourism descended considerably for a year while government is pretending that tourism increased and that tourism of Aruba is going in a good way.

snip...

In America there is a type of boycott working against Aruba and the great part of the boycott is word perform via internet and via travel agencies there is word of pressure to not recommend Aruba as a tourist destination.

The factor that plays a negative role on tourism for Aruba is the credibility of the government at Aruba, because at America the lack of confidence in the MEP government to place attention on the Natalee case, so that this has had a devastating effect on American tourism for Aruba.

believe it would be beneficial to have some quotes taken from interviews Beth, Dave, and others did, just to refresh our memories.
I am going to attempt to post quotes from an interview each day, as time permits.
Todays quotes are from an interview on
10-24-05 The Abrams Report
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/9813142/
ABRAMS: Now, that tape has been out, but the authorities have just reviewed it for the first time. That account about sex with all of them is a very different story than what the police say he, Deepak Kalpoe, one of the suspects has told them all summer.
Joining me right now on the phone Aruba‘s deputy police chief, Gerald Dompig. Deputy Chief, thanks very much for coming back on the program. All right, so you‘ve had a chance to review this tape. Could be significant?
GERALD DOMPIG, ARUBAN DEPUTY POLICE CHIEF: Well, yes. We have received the tapes and we also received from Mr. Jamie Skeeters on CD-ROM the tape. But we still have a problem with the transcriptions because the transcriptions we received don‘t match 100 percent the—just what it said on the tapes. So in any case, we feel that the tapes are very interesting and we are sending as we speak the tapes to Holland to have them reviewed for authentic ity.
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/9813142/
ABRAMS: Let‘s assume for a moment that they are authenticated. You had described to our producer, this is kind of opening a door into the investigation. Could this mean that Deepak Kalpoe is hauled back to the police station?
DOMPIG: Well this could mean anything. Factors that if we can establish that this is new information which not—does not match earlier statements, we can once more or once again prove that these guys are basically lying and we need to keep on focusing on them.
ABRAMS: But again, let‘s be clear. Assuming that this is authenticated and that‘s what you‘re doing now, you‘re sending it to Holland to get authenticated. But assuming it‘s authenticated...
DOMPIG: Right.
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/9813142/
ABRAMS: ... it is different from what he‘s been telling you all summer, correct?
DOMPIG: Yes, to a certain extent, yes because they have always said that there was no sex and these tapes at the least, suggest something else. So I feel that we might have a break there.
ABRAMS: And could this mean other types of charges? Possibly not murder, but possibly other charges in connection with Natalee?
DOMPIG: Well, I don‘t know yet. You have to just keep in mind that even if the sex part is said on the tapes, we don‘t know if it‘s consensual. So that‘s—I‘m not sure if we could draw or jump to conclusions about rape or anything like that. But basically, my information now is that we—it might lead us to other stuff.
ABRAMS: Other stuff meaning other charges?
DOMPIG: Exactly.
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/9813142/
ABRAMS: That‘s pretty significant, isn‘t it Chief?
DOMPIG: Of course because we want to have more answers. We want to find more answers and don‘t forget that we have things—a variety of possibilities from rape, murder. We also have some kind of accident that happened and people might feel that they are responsible for it. They don‘t want to come forward and whatever happens, I told a couple of people today that we are not looking primarily for the perpetrators only. We are looking to find the truth. We want to know what really happened.
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/9813142/
ABRAMS: Let me ask you. Is there a crime in Aruba—and I think I know the answer to this—but is there a crime in Aruba for lying to the authorities. Meaning, if you‘re able to authenticate this tape, you‘re able to show that Deepak Kalpoe, one of the suspects in this case, is telling you a different story, is telling on tape a different story than he told you all summer, is that a crime in and of itself?
DOMPIG: No, not in itself. But it can give us you could say something about the personality of the person we are talking to, so it always works against that person in front of a judge.
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/9813142/
Joining me now on the phone from Aruba is Dave Holloway, Natalee‘s father. Dave, thanks for coming back on the program. First of all, what do you make of this development?
DAVE HOLLOWAY, NATALEE HOLLOWAY‘S FATHER (via phone): Well I‘m hopeful that they‘ll make something out of it. You know I think America knows and everyone else knows really what happened. It‘s a matter of just proving it and that‘s the problem we‘re arising with the judge and the—or the judge of instruction
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/9813142/
ABRAMS: Dave, you are in Aruba searching for Natalee, but you‘re not just searching in random areas, right? You‘re getting guidance as to where you should look?
D. HOLLOWAY: Yes, for the first time we have gotten some guidance on what areas to focus our search efforts on.
ABRAMS: And where is that coming from?
D. HOLLOWAY: That‘s coming from Chief Dompig himself.
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/9813142/
ABRAMS: So the chief is telling you, you know, look in a particular area. Do you want to tell us where generally or how he‘s coming up with these areas?
D. HOLLOWAY: Well, I know it‘s—of course, it‘s no secret now, he had indicated that we needed to center our efforts out in the ocean and that‘s what we‘re doing.
ABRAMS: And why haven‘t the Aruban authorities looked in these areas?
D. HOLLOWAY: Well, I don‘t think they have the capabilities of doing what we‘re trying to do. We‘ve got some people from United States in that has sonar search capabilities and the Aruban authorities do not. So that‘s what we‘re doing.
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/9813142/

And in addition here is a 6-19-05 CNN Report:

Aruban judge questioned in missing teen case
Sunday, June 19, 2005; Posted: 3:34 p.m. EDT (19:34 GMT)

ORANJESTAD, Aruba (CNN) -- Nearly three weeks after Alabama teenager Natalee Holloway disappeared in Aruba, police there questioned a local judge whose son is a suspect in the case, a law enforcement source close to the investigation said.
Authorities talked to Judge Paul Van Der Sloot on Saturday night, the source said. The jurist is the father of 17-year-old Joran Van Der Sloot, one of four people held in the case -- none of whom have been charged.
The source said the judge was interviewed as a witness.
On Friday, Judge Bob Wit ruled that Paul Van Der Sloot cannot visit his son in jail, but that the boy's mother may. Wit's reasoning wasn't made public. Anita Van Der Sloot visited her son late Friday.
Defense attorneys for Joran Van Der Sloot and two others in custody have said their clients maintain they are innocent.
Also jailed are Deepak Kalpoe, 21, and his brother Satish, 18, and a man identified by a family member as Steve Croes, 26, a disc jockey for a popular party boat, who was arrested Friday.
Police Commissioner Jan Van Der Straten said the arrest came after one of the three jailed youths named a fourth person in the case.

I believe it would be beneficial to have some quotes taken from interviews Beth, Dave, and others did, just to refresh our memories.
I am going to attempt to post quotes from an interview each day, as time permits.
Todays quotes are from an interview on

This is from a 11-02-05 Abrams report

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/9910578/

ABRAMS: Hi everyone. First up on the docket tonight, there is a war of words unraveling in Aruba. Natalee Holloway‘s divorced parents who up to now have been proceeding separately, sign a letter.

snip

Quote—“It has become increasingly difficult to hold our tongues. It is our contention that it is in the best interest of everyone concerned to instigate a fresh start in this case. We respectfully request that Dennis Jacobs, Karin Janssen, and Gerold Dompig be removed from the case.”

The letter goes on to say that when Dave Holloway asked the police to begin a search for Natalee two days after she went missing, the detective in charge of the investigation answered—quote—“no, this happens all the time. Just go on down to Carlos N‘ Charlie‘s and have a beer. She‘ll show up sometime. She probably got drunk or fell in love and ran off with someone for a few days.”

They also had strong words for the deputy chief of police, Gerold Dompig. Quote—“It is apparent that Dompig wants to incite anti-Beth Twitty feelings among the Aruban populace in a situation where he should be doing the exact opposite and appealing to the Aruban people for leads to solve Natalee‘s disappearance.”

This scathing letter comes just a day after we had an exclusive interview with the deputy. He was on the program yesterday, where he had some tough words of his own for the family.

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/9910578/

ABRAMS: (UNINTELLIGIBLE) All right. Joining me now on the phone is Dave Holloway, Natalee‘s father. He is one of the people who signed the letter. Dave, thanks for coming on the program.

Look, Dave, you have generally been a sort of calmer voice in connection with this investigation, and yet you did sign this scathing letter about the investigative team. Why?

DAVE HOLLOWAY, NATALEE HOLLOWAY‘S FATHER (via phone): Yes we did. I was one of the last holdouts. I think Beth had been pushing for this for some time. And I went back to the island, hoping to make one last push to get everybody together, hold some solid communications and move forward with the case. And there at the end I thought we were coming close and starting to gel and to move this forward, and suddenly it just fell apart.

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/9910578/

ABRAMS: But Dave, these are very serious accusations that you all are making in this letter. Let me read from one of them that apparently was regard to you from a detective handling the case.

When you went to the police department to report Natalee missing—quote—“Dennis Jacobs responded with the following inappropriate question. How much money do you have?”

HOLLOWAY: That‘s correct and there were two witnesses there that can confirm that.

ABRAMS: And your understanding was he was effectively saying in order to search for your daughter, that they would have to get paid?

HOLLOWAY: Well I don‘t know what his intentions were, Dan, but he made that comment. Whether he was making it in jest, or whatever, I don‘t know, but he did make that comment.

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/9910578/

ABRAMS: All right. Now, another issue with regard to Detective Jacobs, and it seems to me that this I know is one of Beth‘s primary concerns, and I‘m wondering if it‘s yours, as well.

Jacobs continues to theorize that Natalee is still alive, which may explain his lack of diligence in pursuing the suspects who are responsible for Natalee‘s disappearance.

HOLLOWAY: That‘s correct. When I met with him last week, during our conversation, even though he is a lead investigator, he felt like Natalee was still alive.

ABRAMS: He made it clear to you that he thinks Natalee—the lead investigator made it clear to you that he thinks Natalee Holloway is alive and thereby, I guess, suggesting that what, she ran off?

HOLLOWAY: He really didn‘t comment on it, so I don‘t know. Just—he just made that comment, that that was his theory. There were four theories on the board. One of them was she ran away, the other is she‘s alive, the other was that Joran left her at the beach, and the Mountain Brook kids did something with her and the other theory is the most objective and common theory was that they—the three boys had something to do with her disappearance, possibly taking her out in the ocean.

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/9910578/

ABRAMS: Dave, before I play a piece of sound from the deputy police chief, Gerold Dompig, on this show last night, let me ask you. You and your ex-wife Beth have gone about this sort of on two separate routes. You‘ve gone there at different times. I‘ve gotten the impression that it‘s not as if the two of you have been coordinating your efforts.

You know what the other one is doing, but is this the most—this letter, signed by you and your wife and she and her husband, is this sort of the most unified effort that the two of you have made together on this?

HOLLOWAY: Yes, it would be. I was one of the ones who held out, hoping that the police would come together and complete their investigation, and it just finally got to the point where—you know we‘ve got tunnel vision and a lot of peripheral issues started coming up, and you know why aren‘t we focusing back on the three suspects? Why are we talking about issues that don‘t even involve the case? And that‘s where I started getting frustrated and I felt like you know it‘s time, it‘s the fourth quarter, and time‘s almost up. Why don‘t we just start all over and start out with a whole new fresh team?

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/9910578/

ABRAMS: Here‘s what Gerold Dompig said in an exclusive interview on this program last night.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

DOMPIG: I think anybody should understand and can understand it. We have made a lot of efforts to conduct a professional investigation. And in any case, we have given the family every chance to sit with us and to take their statements.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

ABRAMS: Do you disagree with that, Dave?

HOLLOWAY: Well let‘s take a pen and pencil and draw a line through it, and you put on one side what the family and the foreigners and people from the U.S. have done, and then you put on the other side what have the police done. You know we delivered, when we came to the island, we identified the suspects, all three of them, and handed it to them on a silver platter.

We also identified the witness, who is the gardener. We also had a person from the U.S. come down and literally almost got a confession out of Deepak. We found a lot of evidence that they have not used for one reason or the other. We‘ve done most of all the searches. And then my question is, is what have the police done?

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/9910578/

ABRAMSAll right, Chris, you‘re down there in Aruba. How are the Aruban authorities going to react to this?

CHRIS LEJUEZ, ARUBAN ATTORNEY (via phone): I wonder. I think the signal that they‘re getting is a very strong one. I believe after I read her letter that they cannot ignore its contents. They will—do have to look into matters.

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/9910578/

ABRAMS: There is one point in this letter—and this is number three, here—where the letter says that the detective handling the case followed—neglected to ask a follow-up question, Clint, and it says—quote—Joran says—quote—“I think that Deepak killed Natalee and buried her body.” There is no follow-up question as to why or where. It seems that they are quoting from some sort of statement there, Clint where Joran said that.

CLINT VAN ZANDT, FORMER FBI INVESTIGATOR: I saw the statement Dan...

LEJUEZ: Well as you know I am not involved...

ABRAMS: I know. I‘m—hang on a sec, Chris. I‘m going to Clint Van Zandt on that.

VAN ZANDT: Yes, Dan, I saw the statement when I was down in Aruba for MSNBC. I saw the statement that the police allegedly took from van der Sloot, where he makes that—where van der Sloot says that. And I read that and I kind of came up over the top of the desk and I said well, where‘s the rest of the questions? Where‘s the follow-up questions? Where‘s the rest of the story?

And Dan, this is what‘s frustrated me in this case. It appears that the police simply sat there and listened to what he had to say, and said oh yes, that‘s nice, wrote it down. No follow-ups. They took a statement without asking any other questions.

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/9910578/

ABRAMS: ... mean we‘re not still looking at the three suspects, but it sure does sound like it‘s possible that he‘s not and I think that‘s what drives the family crazy.

VAN ZANDT: I think it does too, Dan. Number one, just as you say, he‘s saying we need to ask more questions of these kids who have been interviewed and interviewed and interviewed time and again, and his lead detective is suggesting that Natalee is what, either a runaway or a kidnap victim. Either way, it‘s still a case that needs to be investigated that the Arubans just have not pressed the case to find her.

And more on the letter: These quotes from:
11-02-05 Scarborough Country
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/9910590/

Now, coming up next, Natalee Holloway‘s family, they have been polite for months, even as Aruban investigators made major mistakes, but not anymore. Tonight, they are taking off the gloves. They are going on the offensive, and they are shaking up this case. We are going to tell you about it.

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/9910590/

SCARBOROUGH: A major shakeup in Aruba today. Natalee Holloway‘s parents fired off an explosive six-page letter. They say they are absolutely fed up with the investigation. And they want new people on the case and they want them there now.

With us on the phone is Natalee‘s stepmom, Robin Holloway, who signed the letter, and also MSNBC analyst Clint Van Zandt, who was in Aruba this summer, did some remarkable report.

Let me start with you, Robin.

It sounds like the family is finally fed up. What was the triggering event to make you all write this remarkable letter to Aruban authorities?

ROBIN HOLLOWAY, STEPMOTHER OF NATALEE HOLLOWAY: Hi, Joe. And just, I apologize for my voice. I think I am losing it, so I hope you can understand me OK.

But just, five months, I mean, we are going on half-a-year. And there‘s still no answers. As far as we know, they are still no closer to finding out what happened to Natalee. We are just hoping some fresh faces will bring new answers, and that there‘s—we know there‘s witnesses that need to be re-questioned or re-interviewed, and hopefully, a new team could help solve what happened to Natalee, because, right now, almost half-a-year later, we are still no closer.

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/9910590/

SCARBOROUGH: But obviously, the family has been so frustrated for so long, but you all have had to bite your tongues because you had to work with the Aruban authorities, but, again, at this point, you have just had enough, haven‘t you?

HOLLOWAY: Oh, yes.

And, of course, I mean, everybody that has talked to Dave and interviewed Dave, they know how patient he is. But just—it‘s been so long with just—just so much needs to be focused back onto the three suspects, not these questions about is Beth related to Hitler? No, she is not, but, if she was, just that has nothing to do with what happened to Natalee.

Just we need to get our perspective back on the three witnesses and what they know and what they did with her. And just—we don‘t know what else to do now.

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/9910590/

SCARBOROUGH: Yes, and that‘s a great point. It seems to me that everybody in Aruba, Clint, they are trying to make this about Beth. They are trying to attack Beth. You were down there.

CLINT VAN ZANDT, MSNBC ANALYST: Sure.

SCARBOROUGH: These guys have been running an extraordinarily sloppy investigation, haven‘t they?

VAN ZANDT: Well, I think so, Joe. You know, I understand the family‘s frustration, as you say, having been there, having talked to Beth and the investigators, the private investigators working the case.

I mean, they are all frustrated with it. There was mistakes made from square one. I think, for most people, it looks like this case has ground to a standstill without any solution. So, from an investigator‘s standpoint, it‘s time for new blood.

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/9910590/

SCARBOROUGH: And Beth is—or this letter at least is saying that it appears that the chief investigator‘s goal right now is to incite anti-Beth feelings.

And if you look at some of the statements Dompig has made over the last several days, it certainly looks like they are trying to turn the people in Aruba against Beth. It‘s going to get ugly down there pretty soon, isn‘t it?

Clint?

VAN ZANDT: Yes, I think it is already, Joe. I think that there‘s this animosity that is building. I think the Aruban government and people want this case to go away. You know, as Americans, obviously we don‘t.

But, you know, one of the things that I would advocate on this, Joe, is that the reality is that the Aruban police have really lost their credibility in this whatsoever. They have done a terrible investigation. They do basically terrible interviews. I have seen the results of the interviews when I was down there doing some reporting for you and your show, and it‘s just not consistent with what we see internationally.

Were it me down there, I would say, hey, let‘s—you know, the FBI can‘t go down and take over the case. I mean, whether the Holloway-Twitty family wants that, the reality is, it‘s not going to happen. But the Dutch can. The Dutch are very good investigators in Holland, good homicide detectives, good interviewers. Were it me in the Aruban government, I would say, let‘s bring a team in from Holland, kind of a cold-case squad. Let them start from square one and let them take the case.
