100,000 Angry Muslims in London
Britains Muslim Action Committee is promising that more than 100,000 angry Muslims will turn out in London this weekend to vent their rage over the dreaded cartoons of blasphemy.
Amir Taheri deconstructs the 'Cartoon Campaign' in the NYPost:
http://www.nypost.com/postopinion/opedcolumnists/61596.htm
"...The cartoons were published last September and, for more than three months, caused no ripples outside small groups of Salafi militants in Denmark.
"In December, a group of Danish Muslim militants filled their suitcases with photocopies of the cartoons and embarked on a tour of Muslim capitals. link: 480 comments

Daily Illini Publishes the Dreaded Cartoons of Blasphemy
The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaigns student newspaper the Daily Illini has published the Danish Mohammed cartoons, showing the guts that most of Americas mainstream media lack: Cartoons as published in the Danish Jyllands-Posten. As you might expect, theyre coming under a lot of fire for this decision; The Next Frontier has more.
The Daily Illini ain't the only one. A free magazine called "The Stranger" (well-known for its liberal slant) with a wide distribution throughout the greater Seattle area (yes, Seattle) has also printed the cartoons.
According to Amir Taheri (as quoted by Melanie Phillips)...although Phillips and others mention it, I don't think people realize the significance of this story:
http://egyptiansandm...
Denmark will assume the presidency of the UN Security Council, and this is the reason that Iran has launched a propaganda war against Denmark. It will happen that the Iran issue occurs during the tenure of Denmark as president of the UNSC.
Doesn't matter who else publishes the cartoons. The outrage will be against Denmark as a pre-emptive delegitimization of anything that Denmark does as president of the UNSC, and to distract from considering more serious issues like Iran's race to acquire nuclear weapons to commit nuclear genocide against Israel.

Charles Krauthammer on the menace of moderation:
The German, French and Italian newspapers that republished these cartoons did so not to inform but to defyto declare that they will not be intimidated by the mob.
What is at issue is fear. The unspoken reason many newspapers do not want to republish is not sensitivity but simple fear
The worldwide riots and burnings are instruments of intimidation, reminders of van Goghs fate. The Islamic moderates are the mobs agents and interpreters, warning us not to do this again. And the Western moderates are their terrified collaborators who say: Dont worry, we wont. Its those Danes. Were clean. Spare us. Please.

PRINT FREE OR DIE BY Michael Graham:
In their defense, it should be noted that most American media outlets are just as cowardly as the lions of the press. NBC has (as of this writing) refused to show its viewers the cartoons that launched a thousand jihads. CNN has chosen to show the pictures but blur them to make the images unrecognizable, like a stripper's private parts in a documentary on pole dancing.
Cartoon Jihad is Winning --
It's not just fear - it's cowardice.
These journalists and editorialists love to proclaim that they know what's best and seek to impose their views on their readers. Yet, in a moment of truth where editorialism in the form of cartoons becomes a news story of the utmost urgency, they shy away.

Michael Kinsley at the Washington Post understands the stakes involved in the controversy surrounding the Prophet cartoons. He points out the spectacular flop of a cartoon depicting Anne Frank in bed with Adolf Hitler circulated by European Muslims as a tit-for-tat response to their outrage over the Jyllands-Posten editorial cartoons, and argues that the Muslims aren't demanding equality in any case:It's not often when Michael Kinsley and Charles Krauthammer agree on a topic, especially on the same day -- but on this topic they are united: Comments (13)

A professor posts the Muhammad cartoons on his office door...and ends up surrounded by a group of angry, shouting "youths." Perhaps like those "youths" in France we were hearing so much about not too long ago. "Lecturer stirs outrage after posting drawings," from CP, with thanks to Penkill:
HALIFAXA peaceful protest turned tense yesterday when some Muslim students confronted a Halifax professor who drew criticism for posting contentious cartoons of the Prophet Muhammad on his office door.Peter March, a philosophy professor at Saint Mary's University, said he was merely trying to promote a reasoned debate when he suddenly showed up in the midst of 100 protestors.
"You can't do philosophy directly and honestly without causing inflammation," he said as the protest march was getting started. "It's one of the side effects, rather like surgery."
When students realized who he was, a group of angry youths started shouting, "Go away!" and "You don't belong here!"
But March stood his ground, attempting to debate some of them before organizers urged the students to ignore him and move on.
The shouting matches, all captured by TV cameras, are precisely what some Canadian Muslim leaders fear contribute to negative stereotypes of their religion. Passions flared again on the university campus when March engaged in several discussions that soon turned to heated arguments.
He was helped into a campus building by police who barred the doors to a group of angry students.

Jim Lindgren at The Volokh Conspiracy has an interesting post examining the caption in the above anti-Muslim cartoon. It was one of three pieces of art disseminated by two-tongued, terror-sympathizing Danish imams, who tried to blame the anonymous Muslim-bashing cartoons and photos on Danes in the wake of the Jyllands-Posten's publication of the 12 Muhammad Cartoons. Go visit, read his post, and leave comments if you can help. The blogosphere has already been instrumental in exposing one of the imams' bogus, jihad-stoking pieces of art--the pig snout swindle.
