Some Dems Want Gitmo-To-Yemen Transfers Stopped (but Obama adviser says transfers to go forward)

And the Flt. 235 perp was trained in Yemen and they still want to send GITMO detainess to Yemen? Who is asleep at the switch here?
There is an old post of mine somewhere around here that obama was advised early, early, that WAR interferes with Social Change and Progressive agendas in the US. That it was war overseas that stopped Progressive movements during several other administrations...specifically mentioned Korea and Vietnam and even WWII.
obama was advised that if he wanted to change the face of America, he should ignore the WOT and do the Hope and Change thing here at home.
That is why he took so long to decide on the Troops levels in Afghanistan and why we are no longer interested in the WOT, even to the point of eliminating the word war altogether...and subverting everything we have done by calling terrorism “manmade disasters.”
He does not support or intelligence agencies OR the military, but he will bankrupt this country and see it collapse first.
You know it's bad when WP reports it!
( Yemeni Woman )
Who gave him this advise?
She is STUNNING!
The dirty little secret is that as repressive as the taliban was and is, it had nearly succeeded in completely eradicating the poppy fields in Afghanistan prior to 2001.
Once Nato and the UN took over in Afghanistan, the poppy cultivation grew exponentially, and about three years ago, the taliban reversed their edict against poppy growing and now utilizes the drug trade to finance its own operations.
I have said from the git-go that Afghanistan was to protect the drugs after we routed the taliban early on. Karzai was our tool from the beginning. He who controls the spice, controls the universe. The spice must flow. There was no real interest in stopping the opium trade until the taliban began using it themselves.
The only reason the poppy yield is slightly down from last year has been bad weather. Nothing more.

No Rush to Escalate
By E.J. Dionne Jr.
Monday, October 5, 2009
At a White House dinner with a group of historians at the beginning of the summer, Robert Dallek, a shrewd student of both the Kennedy and Johnson administrations, offered a chilling comment to President Obama.
“In my judgment,” he recalls saying, “war kills off great reform movements.” The American record is pretty clear: World War I brought the Progressive Era to a close. When Franklin D. Roosevelt was waging World War II, he was candid in saying that “Dr. New Deal” had given way to “Dr. Win the War.” Korea ended Harry Truman’s Fair Deal, and Vietnam brought Lyndon Johnson’s Great Society to an abrupt halt.
Transcript:
Thankfully in America we still have the power to use our voice, to rally, to protest, and to gather peaceably on any issue. We have the right to a free press, and we have a patriotic duty to petition our government for a redress of grievances. However, according to some elected Representatives, lawyers, and think tanks, there are limitations to the first amendment. Introducing: The Violent Radicalization and Homegrown Terrorism Act of 2007.
The bill defines homegrown terrorism as: "the use, planned use, or threatened use, of force or violence by a group or individual born, raised, or based and operating primarily within the United Statesto intimidate or coerce the United States government, the civilian population of the United States, or any segment thereof, in furtherance of political or social objectives."
So what happened to this legislation? It passed in the House of Representatives by an overwhelming 404-6 vote, but widespread opposition forced the Senate to shelve the bill. As of June 1st, 2008, no vote was scheduled during the current legislative year. The good news is widespread opposition by the people prevented this bill from being passed in the Senate, proving that our voices can make a difference. And we can do it again!
Unfortunately, even though the bill got shelved, it doesn't mean that a similar bill can't go through. Furthermore, Senator Joe Lieberman, Chairman of the Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, has taken matters into his own hands by declaring homegrown terrorism a "grave menace," and has already taken action to make YouTube censor its content.
Individual states appear to be taking matters into their own hands regarding Homegrown Terrorism. In February of 2009, an internal report distributed to local law enforcement by the Missouri Information Analysis Center outlined certain criteria by which to identify potential militia members. This all sounds well and good, but it might not be what you expect.
If you or anybody you know support former presidential candidates Ron Paul, Chuck Baldwin, or Bob Barr, then you could be classified as a radical militia member. In Missouri, your viewpoints, beliefs, or opinions can classify you as a potential criminal! This undermines the first amendment's power in giving us the freedom to hold and express our beliefs. Recently, the collective efforts of the people standing up for their rights have spurred Ron Paul, Bob Barr, and Chuck Baldwin to take action.
Unless we act now, the list of American citizens charged as terrorists will only grow longer. We must let our Representatives know that their job is to serve the best interests of the people-not the lobbyists, not the corporations, and not even the President. Protecting Americans does not entail stripping away our birth rights.
TM’ers, new project:
Who IS Robert Dallek? Where is he NOW? In the BO admin?
~Inquiring minds need to know
Perhaps too conspiratorial for most, but that's how I see it.
Not just for black ops. During the oil embargo, the oil money lifeline which funded American and European Banks and Insurance companies, as well as the IMF and World Bank, was put in jeopardy. The banks switched over to drugs. Laundering money and drugs has become the lifeline for the monetary system all over the world.
Bet you thought it was gold, huh?
The monied elite control the drugs and the drug trade, and religion does not matter one whit as many of the richest muslims are also in this system.
Iran USED to be the hub for the worldwide drug trade. That needed to be changed. That is why clinton invaded Kosovo and backed the KLA.
The KLA protected the new drug routes through Europe, and the money was flowing through Indonesia and the Phillipines.
There is a switchover going on now and the new money hub will be through Haiti.
Coinkidinkally, bill clinton is the new UN special ambassador to....Haiti.
Stunning eyes and top half of face. You do jump to conclusions.
Having married several Middle Easterners, dated lots more, I have found that like many other ethnicites which mature fast (including many Hispanics) they are fine featured but have horrible bodies.
Short legs and huge hips (we called them “chassis kootah” low slung on their chassis) their stumpy legs seem to start at the knees. Yes, male chauvinist! From living out there so long.
BTW Alan and I share many adventures, experiences and dangers and the opinions I post are a combination of his views and mine. Hard to separate them sometimes as we have so few differences. And have also influenced each other.
One of the reasons is the fact that girls there, specially poor families, sit on the floor and poor leg circulation over the ages has stunted and mis-shaped them. As is the habit of wrapping their babies in very tight coddling, reminiscent of tight wrapping of Japanese girls’ feet to keep them small.
The younger generations, specially the richer ones and those who grew up overseas from parents who did, can have beautiful legs. Length and shape.
Bored by a very limited emotional life, bereft of much entertainment, and strict parental controls they often become shrewish - leading to the Moslem edict that wives must be beaten.
I had better stop chewing shoe leather here! No, I do not think wives should be beaten, nor any woman. I was brought up in England as a gentleman and that is forbidden.
cheers,
wow. wish you could write everything for that gray old lady...
he’s a dork bum-kisser.
