THREAT MATRIX 2010 #3
Free Republic Threat Matrix | May 2, 2010 | TM Crew

Posted on 05/02/2010 4:49:06 PM PDT by MestaMachine

There is no war as far as our president is concerned. There are no Islamic Terrorists, only a few rogue extremists. There is no REAL Jihad. Jihad is simply a "spiritual journey" to Allah, the most merciful. So he says. Islam, to his mind, has contributed so much to the world, after all, since Mohammed's slaughter of the Jews at Medina.
Judging by Obama's actions in the recent weeks and months, he no doubt would have agreed the Jews deserved what they got from the "religion of peace." He continues the onslaught in the name of "social justice" and "human rights"...for them. But not for us, US.
It isn't America that Islam despises, it is the Jews. And all we need do to remedy that is to turn the Jews over for just punishment...and they will love America for it. Peace would reign in the world if only America would stop its support of those wicked Jews in Israel.
Unfortunately, his view is not shared by Al Qaeda. Nor would it be shared by the satanic character of Mohammed who ordered the butchering of innocents to further his mad quest for power.
This is excerpted from the latest Al Qaeda screed from Yahya al-Libi:

Abu Yahya Al-Libi

All Americans Must Be Killed Even If They Capitulate

Top Al Qaeda leader Abu Yahya Al-Libi is out with a new, and particularly grim, tract comparing America to the Bani Quraidah, a Jewish tribe that once came into conflict with Mohammed, resulting in all the adult males being killed, and the women and children being taken as slaves, according to a mix of hadith and Quranic sources.

The takeaway from this 20-page work is rather specific and quite possibly a signpost to trouble ahead.
Al-Libi is arguing:

1) The harshest punishment is justified for those who ally themselves with the enemies of Islam, even if those people do not commit overt acts against Muslims.

2) That punishment, in the case of the Quraidah, was that all of the adult males were killed and all women and children taken as slaves. Al-Libi goes out of his way to point out that this punishment was meted out after the Quraidah surrendered.

3) The United States meets the same criteria for judgment as the Quraidah.

The expansion of the conflict here is in keeping with Al Qaeda's practices, although I don't recall seeing it stated so bluntly and justified so elaborately before.

Basically, Al-Libi is saying that every adult male American ought to be killed, whether or not they submit to the judgment of Muslims (meaning Al Qaeda, of course,) whether or not they have specifically taken up arms against Muslims, and whether or not they continue to be at war with Muslims.

Or, to use his words, they are to be killed "not just as a punishment for the crime which they have committed in the past" but "to cut off the very substance of their evil." He specifically includes prisoners taken on the battlefield in this category, although he takes pains to say that his point is much broader.

Something not right? Go with your gut. Report it.

VIDEO: TERRORISTS CROSSING MEXICAN-U.S. BORDER
Dittos Rush! ^ | 5-11-10 | James

From News channel 2 in Atlanta. Agents in New Mexico and Arizona are catching thousands of OTM’s (other than Mexicans). Border patrol and ranchers are finding muslim prayer shaws, muslim jackets with “martyr” patches on them. “There are people who mean to do us harm who cross our borders every day”. One of the world’s most wanted terrorist was spotted in Atlanta who most likely came up through the mountains by means of the Mexican border. These terrorists learn to speak Spanish then travel to Mexico and blend in with other illegal’s trying to enter this USA.

To the Editor:

“Public Pensions in Trouble” (editorial, Aug. 22) bemoans the fact that pension improvements for New York City employees were not “negotiated in collective bargaining.”

It is one of the peculiarities of the state’s labor laws that pension changes cannot be a subject of bargaining. Unions have no recourse, then, but to go to Albany to aid their members and retirees.

On the other hand, the weight that the same body of laws has given to pattern bargaining has benefited the city government enormously for many years and has resulted in the saving of billions of dollars.

Most municipal unions would be happy to get rid of both provisions and have a level bargaining field.

THE TRANSIT SETTLEMENT: THE AGREEMENT - Contract Gains Won’t Finance Higher Wages
New York Times, The (NY) - Wednesday, December 18, 2002
Author: STEVEN GREENHOUSE
Abstract: Metropolitan Transportation Authority leaders who said new labor contract included productivity gains to help pay for 6 percent wage increase over next three years now say productivity measures will not cover $180 million cost of those raises; admission could undercut Mayor Michael R Bloomberg’s efforts to wrest similar productivity concesssions from city’s work force; Peter S Kalikow, MTA chairman, defends settlement, sayng savings will bear reasonable relationship to wage increases that were granted (M)

(snip)

Marc Kagan, one of the union’s top negotiators, said the savings from the bus merger might be a few million dollars a year, not tens of millions. Union officials said the merger would mean one significant cost increase for the M.T.A.: 5,500 Manhattan and Bronx bus workers would have their annual sick leave, currently 5 days, increased to 12 days, to match that of the bus workers in the other three boroughs.

THE TRANSIT SETTLEMENT: THE DEAL - Transit Strike Averted After Tentative Deal Is Reached
New York Times, The (NY) - Tuesday, December 17, 2002
Author: STEVEN GREENHOUSE
Abstract: Transport Workers Union and Metropolitan Transportation Authority reach tentative agreement that will avert threatened strike by 34,000 New York City subway and bus workers; deal calls for pay freeze in first year and 3 percent raises in second and third years, as well as overhaul of disciplinary system despised by workers; pact gives authority one of its main objectives: wage freeze in first year; TWU had vowed not to accept pay freeze, but MTA is softening blow by giving transit workers one-time $1,000 payment in first year; that payment would not be considered part of workers’ base pay, so it will save authority tens of millions of dollars in computing future raises; agreement gives major gains to each side; union agrees to increase productivity and management promises to contribute more than $280 million to assure solvency of union’s health insurance plan; Roger Toussaint, union’s president, says he is confident members of Local 100 will accept package; city residents, who were bracing for strike, express relief; photos; chart with highlights of accord (M)

(snip)

Marc Kagan, a union official who is an expert on the disciplinary system, predicted that the new contract would reduce disciplinary citations by at least 33 percent. As for the remaining citations, he said most of them would be handled through a less formal, less onerous process.

Year-Round Schooling: Forget About It
New York Times, The (NY) - Saturday, September 21, 1996
Abstract: Letter from Marc Kagan opposing idea of year-round schooling to ease overcrowding in New York City school system (S)
To the Editor:

The report by the Citizens Budget Commission says New York City will require fewer classrooms if it goes to a year-round system and educates children on varying schedules (news article, Sept. 17). The proposal may look good on paper, but it has no relation to reality.

The average household with children has no adult at home every day who is available at any hour and in any season to bring and pick up children from school. It is hard enough to deal with the 8:30 A.M. to 3 P.M. school day, around which parents are expected to fit eight hours of work plus commuting. It is already crisis time during the weeklong school closings in December, February and April.

Imagine being told that school will now begin (or end) at midday. Imagine arranging child care for the full months of November and May. Now imagine a second child off in January and July. Where are parents expected to find child care, after-school programs, camps and busing for all these shifts and vacations?

I just posted this as a thread:

Obama wakes up [to international terrorism?]; White House alarmed

Something big is happening. Big enough to alarm the White House. So big that the administration did an abrupt about-face regarding terrorism.

Terrorism's serious now -- driving major policy reversals. The administration just won't tell us why.

(snip)

But the administration's biggest policy reversal to date came from Holder, the longtime advocate of terrorist "rights," who offered one of the most belated acknowledgments in history when he told a TV network, "We're now dealing with international terrorism."

(snip)

And there wasn't a single mention of "man-caused disasters" this time around. Every administration point person talked "terrorism." Next thing you know, somebody in the White House will use the term "Islamist terrorist." (snip)

Some revelation about the terrorist threat has shocked the president. It's about time.

Off-topic Weird **** out in the desert today - (pictures)

....some weird **** was or went down out in the desert over the past couple of days. A group of us went out to this place called Sheep's Bridge on the Verde River. It's a bridge that was built so sheep herders could cross the river. The bridge is about 30-35 miles from the freeway, through rough, mountainous terrain, on a maintained state Forest Road.

Okay, it's 100 degrees out, middle of the afternoon, and we see this weirdo out there in a ****ing Volkswagen.... , then .... what the F kind of drugs was this guy on? Not only was I shocked that he didn't break an axle, but the ****** is driving around in a chick car in 100 degree weather with the top down.... un-****ing-believable....

Then, a few miles before we arrive at the bridge, we see this Nissan Titan that went off the road. How this thing didn't flip over is beyond my comprehension... a few of us went down to see if there were any people in it and the door was open. We looked inside and the keys were in the ignition and I found a friggin' Qur'an.... The vehicle was registered to an 80 year old dude with an anglo name.

The Terrorist Plan: Destroy From Within

In the words of one of the ringleaders of the so-called “Toronto 18”, the alleged terrorism cell determined to make a 9-11 happen in Canada:

“(It) doesn’t matter what trials you face, it doesn’t matter what comes your way….

Our mission’s greater.

Whether we get arrested, whether we (get) killed, we get tortured, our mission’s greater than just individuals.” – Canadian Press

In the last of a series of trials, Fahim Ahmad has just pleaded guilty to leading a grand terror plot to mimic the disaster of 9-11 in Toronto by blowing up the Toronto Stock Exchange and other prominent targets.

And in another intercept played for the jury, Fahim Ahmad is heard suggesting to go to Parliament to “cut off some heads” and “kill everybody”. His fiery speech was at a terrorist training camp North of Toronto and heard by youth as young as 14.

Following Ahmad’s speech, (Police informant Mubin) Shaikh was tasked with asking all the participants what they would do to further the cause when they got home.

One man said he would help recruit people, Ansari said he would offer his computer expertise and the 14-year-old participant said he would give his allowance money to the cause. – Canadian Press

Hatred for Western Civilization is dedicated, sinister, brutal and beyond the comprehension of any normal citizen of the West. Make no mistake about it, homegrown terrorists are advancing Western destruction from within. They are on our soil and they are fully integrated. While this does not call for paranoia toward every Muslim we see, it does require vigilance, observation and the recognition for the need to protect our Western values and mores with no apologies.

Rarely has our country faced a more uncertain future under more troubling circumstances. We have been attacked by an enemy who is inspired by religious hatreds and is able to strike our homeland, something no adversary has been able to accomplish in modern times. Domestically, we are facing the greatest economic collapse in a generation, and our federal government is on its way to bankruptcy. Confronting these crises, we are led by the most inexperienced, radical, and divisive president in our nation’s history, a man who has appeased our enemies and attacked our allies abroad and has authorized a government expansion at home that will create more debt in the next four years than previous presidents have since our nation began.

Barack Obama’s radical measures have prompted others to focus on the political breakdowns that characterize his administration — the disdain for bipartisanship and traditional compromise, the disregard for constitutional process, and the blunt contempt for the will of the voters who elected him. But politics is a reflection of forces that are ultimately rooted in a society’s culture, the values and attitudes that shape its consciousness. These are the crucible of a nation’s achievements and its armor against adversarial threats. A people proud of its heritage will fight for its survival; a people guilty before history will not. Hence a nation’s fate is ultimately tied to the health of its culture. Underlying the present crisis is a breakdown of our culture that has been 50 years in the making and cannot be altered by an election or two.

To measure the dimensions of our current predicament, there are few better indicators than the improbable career of a cultural icon and political radical named Cornel West, friend (and former colleague) of Pres. Barack Obama, a man of vacuous ramblings and vaudevillian dimensions who is known to intimates as “Corn,” and to one Venezuelan acolyte as “Hurricane West.”

Because of his cultural prominence and radical enthusiasms, West was named to the Obama presidential campaign’s Council of Black Advisers and introduced Obama on his first campaign stop in Harlem in 2007, where he called the future president “my brother and my companion and comrade.” In return, Obama called West “not only a genius, a public intellectual, an oracle . . . [but] also a loving person.” West has also been a friend and campaigner for Bill Clinton, as well as a political adviser to Sen. Bill Bradley and Al Sharpton in their failed bids for the Democratic party’s presidential nomination in 2004.

Latest on Russia’s movement to build their alliances with muslim countries.....

By Joel C. Rosenberg

(Washington, D.C., May 14, 2010) — Russian President Dmitry Medvedev just completed an historic three-day tour through Syria and Turkey...... It was the first visit by a Russian leader to Damascus since the end of the Cold War....... His top agenda items arms sales and helping both countries build nuclear power facilities. Ominously, Medvedev in Damascus..... called for Israel to give up its nuclear arsensal and help create a “nuclear free zone” in the Middle East.

The visits come at a time when ........Russia is steadily building diplomatic, economic and military alliances in the region that are consistent with the Ezekiel 38-39 prophecies about the coming “War of Gog and Magog” against Israel.

At the 2010 Epicenter Conference in Philly this summer, we’ll examine the latest trends in light of these key End Times prophecies.

Meanwhile, David Cameron, leader of the UK’s center-right Tory Party, this week became the new Prime Minister of Great Britain.

The good news: he understands the severity of Iran’s nuclear threat; has likened Islamic extremism to Naziism; supported the war in Iraq and opposed calls to cut and run; supported the war in Afghanistan and resisted calls to cut the number of British troops there; refuses to unilaterally surrender the UK’s nuclear deterrence;..... he’s part Jewish; he has publicly declared himself a Zionist; and he has taken pro-Israel positions in the past, including Israel’s right to defend herself in the war against Hamas in 2009.

The not-so-good news: Cameron supports a two-state solution between the Israelis and Palestinians, which by definition requires dividing Israel and carving up pieces of Jerusalem; he has described East Jerusalem as “occupied” territory; he has been sharply critical of Israeli settlements; he leads a weak political party, holding only 306 seats, well short of a majority (total seats in the British parliament: 650), and is thus dependent on left-of-center political parties; and to gain power, Cameron built a political coalition with Liberal Democrat leader Nick Clegg (whose party won just 57 seats). Clegg has been so severely hostile to Israel that he actually called for an arms embargo against the Jewish State in 2009.

Will David Cameron be a friend to Israel as the rest of the world — and nearly all of Europe, and now the White House — isolates Israel? I pray the answer is yes, but it remains to be seen. Given the coalition he has just built, I must say I’m concerned.

How Faisal snuck through
Easy path from terror camp to US
By PAUL SPERRY

Excerpt:
Six years ago, Homeland Security ordered customs agents at JFK and other international airports to examine all travelers of Pakistani descent -- including US citizens -- for "rope burns," "unusual bruises," "wounds/scars" and other signs of minor injuries suffered while attending "terrorist training camps in Pakistan."

The sensitive two-page action alert -- dated June 17, 2004 -- warned that individuals trained in the Pakistani camps "are destined" to carry out terror attacks inside the US.

A lot of good it did. The system flagged Shahzad -- but he was allowed to continue traveling to Pakistan and eventually obtain a US passport, all the while eluding FBI monitoring.

The "Pakistan watch" intensified in January 2005, when the Department of Homeland Security directed airport inspectors to help intercept "Pakistani-based young men in their 20s traveling to the US." The men were believed to be plotting to attack New York and other terror targets. But inspectors stood down once that specific threat passed.

Months later, British citizens of Pakistani origin bombed the London subways after training at Pakistan camps -- and DHS ordered US border authorities to renew their focus on Pakistani travelers. But Washington soon backed off the increased scrutiny after the Pakistani Embassy and US Muslim groups complained about profiling.

Then UK authorities foiled the August 2006 plot to blow up planes over US cities. The Pakistani Britons in that cell had also trained at camps in Pakistan -- so Homeland Security again put agents back on high alert for Pakistani travelers.

The department even created a temporary watchlist, called a "one-day lookout," to screen high-risk passengers inbound from Pakistan. Those flagged (in the so-called ATS-P computer system) are subjected to a battery of questions and additional searches to determine if they've visited Pakistan terror camps.

And that system flagged Shahzad this past February when he re-entered the US from a five-month stint in Pakistan. He was sent to secondary inspection for a more detailed screening, where his bags were searched and he was asked about his long stay in Pakistan.

In fact, during that time he learned bomb-making at a terror camp. But he simply explained that he was visiting family and was released from custody. ("Looking for a bride" is another common line jihadist suspects returning from Pakistan use to escape investigation.)

DHS agents sent a report to the FBI, noting that Shahzad had been flagged after bringing some $80,000 in cash into the US. There were other red flags as well, such as the fact he'd come back this time without his wife.

But the bureau didn't aggressively follow up. "The FBI should have kept an eye on him," a DHS official told me.

Maybe the bureau was still smarting from the response to its September 2008 FBI manhunt for Pakistan-trained cells (launched in response to leads developed in the arrest of an al Qaeda operative). That got tamped down after Muslim groups led by CAIR (the Council on American-Islamic Relations) and their Hill cheerleaders hounded FBI Director Robert Mueller for singling out young Muslim men. (House Judiciary Committee Chairman John Conyers hammered Mueller in a public hearing over "racially profiling" Pakistanis.)

After the bombing attempt last Christmas, DHS increased airport scrutiny of travelers from Yemen, Pakistan and other high-risk Muslim nations. But howls over profiling soon prompted Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano to scrap the policy.

This politically correct, piecemeal system isn't enough to protect us from the growing threat of American turncoats training for jihad in Pakistan.

Bad guys like Shahzad -- and Najibullah Zazi, the Queens native who plotted to blow up the New York subways, and Daood Gilani (aka David Headley), who helped plan the Mumbai massacre -- still slip back into the US after training to kill in Pakistan, then go on their way.

We need to close the front door overseas: Washington should place a moratorium on new visas for young male immigrants from Pakistan until the terror camps are permanently closed. And the FBI must keep a closer eye on young Pakistani-American men and their mosques -- and not apologize for it.

Otherwise, it's just a matter of time before one of them uses his overseas terror training against his American countrymen -- this time successfully.

Mosque Madness at Ground Zero

Excerpt:
A mosque rises over Ground Zero. And fed-up New Yorkers are crying, "No!"

A chorus of critics -- from neighbors to those who lost loved ones on 9/11 to me -- feel as if they've received a swift kick in the teeth.

Plans are under way for a Muslim house of worship, topped by a 13-story cultural center with a swimming pool, in a building damaged by the fuselage of a jet flown by extremists into the World Trade Center.

The opening date shall live in infamy: Sept. 11, 2011. The 10th anniversary of the day a hole was punched in the city's heart.

How the devil did this happen?

Plans to bring what one critic calls a "monster mosque" to the site of the old Burlington Coat Factory building, at a cost expected to top $100 million, moved along for months without a peep. All of a sudden, even members of the community board that stupidly green-lighted the mosque this month are tearing their hair out.

Paul Sipos, member of Community Board 1, said a mosque is a fine idea -- someplace else.

"If the Japanese decided to open a cultural center across from Pearl Harbor, that would be insensitive," Sipos told me. "If the Germans opened a Bach choral society across from Auschwitz, even after all these years, that would be an insensitive setting. I have absolutely nothing against Islam. I just think: Why there?"

Why, indeed.

A rally against the mosque is planned for June 6, D-Day, by the human-rights group Stop Islamicization of America. Executive director Pamela Geller said, "What could be more insulting and humiliating than a monster mosque in the shadow of the World Trade Center buildings that were brought down by an Islamic jihad attack? Any decent American, Muslim or otherwise, wouldn't dream of such an insult. It's a stab in the eye of America."

Called Cordoba House, the mosque and center is the brainchild of the American Society for Muslim Advancement. Executive director Daisy Khan insists it's staying put.

"For us, it's a symbol, a platform that will give voice to the silent majority of Muslims who suffer at the hands of extremists. A center will show that Muslims will be part of rebuilding lower Manhattan," said Khan, adding that Cordoba will be open to everyone.

"We were pleased to see that the community welcomed us as an asset to lower Manhattan," she added. "The community board approved it."

Not so fast.

The Financial District Committee of Community Board 1 seems to have gotten ensnared in a public-relations ploy by mosque-makers. At a May 5 meeting, the committee gave the project an enthusiastic thumbs-up. But boards have zero say over religious institutions.

Board chair Julie Menin, blind-sided by the move, predicts "this will be overturned by the full board" later this month.

snip

Unclear is how the mosque will raise the $100 million-plus it needs.

"We would be seeking funding from anyone who would help," Khan told me. "Seeking maybe some bonds or something like that." At the May 5 community board meeting, she displayed a sign with names like "Rockefeller Brothers Fund" and "Ford Foundation," which observers believed meant money is coming from those organizations. But Khan says those groups merely gave money in the past, and no funding is yet in place.

There are many questions about the Ground Zero mosque. But just one answer.

Move it away.

Maybe if a bunch of militant Amish bombed the opening ceremonies, killing hundreds, think anyone would notice the subtle point? /sarc>

Cheers!

I want them to build it. I want it to cost millions.

Because some one is going to fly a large radio controlled air craft into it, when it is full of people.

The aircraft will have about 1o,ooo pounds of TNT in it.

Then they just might call it even.
