At the request of members, I am restarting those "Tales from the Dark UnderBelly Of the Beast"-- the stories and issues that the press and media either ignore, won't even talk about, or will mention once and forevermore claim "it's old news..."
Naturally, some will be stories which interest me, or things I think we all need to be aware of.
I am experimenting with a minor change in presentation- when I can, I will cut to
-GoogleNewsBeta--
with a keyword or two and see what kind of links to "mainstream" stories I can find in contrast to what we see here and on other sites.
May I remind you of a couple of points to bear in mind?
Each link usually has many other links within- follow them all to get "the rest of the story."
Don't forget the "open multiple browsers" trick with control-n -- this allows you to hold your place with one, and use the others to follow links, run searches, etc.
Rather than go back and rehash old links, I'll give you links to the original posts here:
-DUBOB 10- the *best of* the Dark Underbelly Series--
-DUBOB 9-- even *more* tales from the Dark Underbelly of the Beast..... --
DUBOB 8-- still *more* tales from the Underbelly***
DUBOB 7-- even *more* tales from the Dark Underbelly of the Beast.....
DUBOB 6-- yet *more* tales from the Dark Underbelly of the Beast.....
DUBOB 5-- even *more* tales from the Dark Underbelly of the Beast.....
DUBOB IV- yet more Tales from the Dark Underbelly of the Beast-
DUBOB III -- "Tales from the Dark Underbelly of the Beast"
DUBOB 2-- more tales from The Dark Underbelly of the Beast-- thread II

Democrats vs. Christians? -- Thus, according to Dean Democrats:
- The GOP has the agenda of Christian conservatives;
- Christian conservatives are our homegrown Taliban violence-prone fundamentalists who are identical to the Saudis and other Islamic militants;
- And oh, yes Christian conservatives and their Republican lackeys seek to establish a state-sponsored religion which will, presumably, reprise the Salem witch trials and Spanish Inquisition.
And Democrats still cant figure out why most religious people view them with emotions ranging from distrust to revulsion.
Well, we still have the right to stand in line -- Amazing how the media, courts and the people are beginning to rouse from our slumber- most people are now starting to realize that human life is more important than socialist ideology.
The chain gang makes a comeback in US -- "I don't care if they don't like it," Jones said. "I want them leaving here saying that the food is bad, the beds are uncomfortable, and they work your ass off."
What's that sound, Oh Canada? Perhaps the chickens coming home to roost -- and defecate upon -- your insane liberal policies?

The slavery shakedown -- When you look at the suffering of Africans in Africa in the years after we abolished slavery (including ongoing African slavery), it's hard to believe we still allow ourselves to be intimidated by the race-baiters. I doubt if any African-American would have fared half as well had his ancestors remained in Africa. Sad, but true. Time for the U.S. to stop apologizing.
The Silencing of Himmler -- While the source of this article is a dubious revisionist outfit the conclusions do seem supported by newly unearthed evidence. The issue is not the personality of David Irving or his views, the issue is if the photocopies he posted are genuine. Irving saying "British archives reveal" is not sufficient; I'd like to know exactly where the originals come from.

Losing Ground on Immigration Issue -- The illegal immigration has issue has gotten to the point that most of the public is now not just against it, but deeply angry about it and tired of being lied to. Last weekend, NPR ran several comments they had gotten in response to a story they had run about an Guatemalan teenager with an American accent who could not remember her native country being deported there with the rest of her family. The NPR announcer was plainly distressed that almost all the comments they got were strongly against illegal immigration and wanted to see the kid deported along with the rest of her family. When the NPR audience is against leniency in a sympathetic immigration case, the issue has turned.
The Dems could pivot in September 2006 and take back Congress with the illegal immigration issue. A big chunk of the GOP base is so angry about immigration that they want to punish Republicans first and punish them hard. Bush and the current GOP Congressional leadership are so deeply in the bubble of Washington politics that they are unlikely to recognize the public mood until they have suffered the political equivalent of third degree burns.

I don't really care either if two homosexuals have a piece of paper from City Hall hanging up on their wall that says their married. Big Whuppee. But the problem is, "Gay Marriage" isn't really about "Gay Marriage". Most Gays have no interest in getting married. This is about the direction that we're headed as a society. |
Cash, charge or fingerprint? -- I have been refused service trying to make a purchase with a hundred dollar bill. They would only accept a credit card. This was 20 years ago, I realized we were in trouble then.
Border Skirmishes: The immigration debate pits voters against political elites. -- they should also have to pay for the increased costs to our welfare, healthcare, and education systems. It's no surprise that these workers are great for the businesses that break the law by hiring them. American workers would have to earn enough to pay taxes for schools, to pay for healthcare, to pay other taxes, and to save for retirement. When businesses hire illegals, they can get away with making the taxpayers cover most of those costs for the illegal workers.

Society must defend traditional wedlock- Michael Coren 11/06 --
Laws are being passed across Western civilization which would enable people to charge others with hate crimes and the truth of the statements being made would be no defence.
We are truly entering into a frightening time, humanly speaking, wherein freedom of speech and religion for Christians is going to be severely limited. The day will come when we will not be able to teach our own children our faith, or even live it freely in our homes.

The beginning:
Reverse chronological order:
Howard Dean renews attacks on Republicans -- I figured Dean was pretending to be a nutcase to make Hillary look sane- But recently Hillary has said some of the same stupid types of crap that Dean has... I'm perplexed. This kind of slug mouth hate speech
even makes James Carville look tame.
Howard Dean renews attacks on GOP, defends fundraising --
Dean might be a crazy-@ss, but beware. It makes Hillary look all the more moderate. It's been done before - it's a tactic.
Dean will be at the head of the DNC for a while. He is there to make Hillary, Kerry, Kennedy, and the other liberal wackos seem moderate and sane.http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1420713/posts
Don't be so sure that Dean doesn't reflect the passion and deep feelings of the Democratic party. The liberals I talk to are not only not upset by him, but are thrilled with him. While some may consider him a bit out there, they really believe this stuff.
But he's violating the First Commandment of the left. Thou shalt not reveal Thy true nature to Thine public.
Democrats vs. Christians? -- Thus, according to Dean Democrats:
- The GOP has the agenda of Christian conservatives;
- Christian conservatives are our homegrown Taliban violence-prone fundamentalists who are identical to the Saudis and other Islamic militants;
Dean's Appearance Has Media in a Sweat (Do you hate white Christians?!?) -- Dean, Reid and Pelosi are America's modern Three Stooges.
HILL AIDE BEANS DEAN (desperately needs Christian voters) -- Your post got me searching for proof that "everything old is new again". I remembered how Saint Hillary was portrayed in the early 90s. I found the perfect compliment to your thread:

Felt's Daughter Tied to Cult --
The last comment in the article is priceless.....She told the paper during a phone call, "That's all way far in the past. This is 20 years ago, 20 years ago, that you're digging up stuff."
That's just the way it works. If you are a conservative EVERYTHING you have ever done at any point in life is fair game, but if you're a leftist it's their "private life" and nobody's business.
The Rise of a New Power - A communist Economic juggernaut emerges to challenge the west -- In 1997, Great Britain handed China over to Hong Kong, and it's been downhill for Communism ever since. Realizing Communism and Socialism just aren't viable anymore, a more pragmatic younger generation will have the last vestiges of Communism swept out the door within the next 10 or 15 years. For some reason, the Democrat party just can't seem to get it through its head that Communism and Socialism aren't the way to go. How is it the Communists understand this simple idea, yet they don't?
Family seeks apology from S.C. for lynching (Update) -- The MSM has spent the last few days beating up on Mississippi about things that happened over 40 years ago. And now they're going after South Carolina for something that happened when Woodrow Wilson was in the White House.
Call me crazy, but this sounds like the latest dead horse the MSM wants to beat, and I agree, reperations is where they're going with this.

Democratic Party goes on offensive (Bring your own barf bag - you've been warned...) -- DEMOCRATIC PLAYBOOK
page 1
Accuse Republicans of being racist, sexist, homophobic bigots and claim that all Republican social and foreign policy is motivated by this.
page 2
Accuse Republicans of being so greedy that they would rather people die of starvation, disease, neglect, or pollution if it meant they would have one more dollar in their pocket and all Republican economic policy is motivated by this.
page 3
State that anyone who supports Republican policy or disagrees with Democratic policy is both corrupt and stupid.
Pictures of Unrest & Women's Protest in Iran -- In an ideal scenario, Carter would have been tried for treason and been found guilty. He betrayed this nation (an energy policy that favoured terrorist states, gave-away the Panama Canal, cavorted with dictators, betrayed staunch allies, etc.) and should have been punished accordingly.

Modern day Hitler-Stalin Pact -- What primary agenda do Leftists and Islamo-fascists share in common? Both groups are passionate enemies of America and Israel.
Let's just hope Howard Dean joins the bandwagon...
The Emily Litella Memo (Updated!)
David Sanger at the New York Times discovers another memo from British sources that completely undermines the central argument of the Downing Street Memo -- which is that the Bush administration had fixated on a military solution to Iraq and had started to twist the intelligence in July 2002 to justify the invasion. Instead, as Sanger reports, another memo dated the same week at the DSM reported to Tony Blair that Bush had not yet made up his mind what approach he wanted to take with Saddam Hussein--
UPDATE: The text of the Emily Litella Memo can be found here., with links to the other two pages at the bottom. Far from being a companion piece to the DSM, the memo -- as I noted above -- specifically contradicts the intelligence given by "C" in the minutes of a meeting of British cabinet ministers.
