The only thing I can see is perhaps a fundamental difference in viewpoint on the thread that may have caused the suspension/banned status. It was clear KP feels that Terry has no chance, and has clinical experience to back up his opinion. Everyone else appears to be dealing from the heart. He was accused of calling her "a bag of meat" and a "carrot", but those are both characteristic slang used by someone in healthcare. Sometimes healthcare workers, by virtue of their occupations, become very hardened, and are prone to this sort of dark humor. I had 250 nurses working for me. I've heard "bag of meat" and "carrot" from nurses who were the most sterling caregivers I ever saw. Either way, though, KP doesn't appear, by what's on the thread, to be any more or less hostile than anyone else. In fact, I'd say there were others less reasonable.

One woman's opinion.

The Shiavo case is the least clean cut case that I have ever seen on this topic.

Same here.
All I really am sure about in the Schiavo case is that it is the test case, the "Roe vs Wade" of the euthanasia movement.

The wording of the bills introduced down there makes it clear this is the situation.

If you read the thread you'll find what some of the deleted posts said.

Prout really said some things he shouldn't have, but people have different beliefs and people around the world hold vastly differing social attitudes about life and death.

If that issue hadn't been about nouns, perhaps the wilding Freepers would have been banned.

Ok, now I'll take one for the team here. I don't think KP meant the "bag of meat" as anything personal towards Terri, but more a comment on her status as a clinician. I work with nurses every day, Jim. We care for comatosed children. And I have heard my hardworking, compassionate nurses say exactly the same thing. It's said with sadness, but said as an accepted fact of the patient's status.

This is, of course, your world and I just live in it, but I've always found KP to be among the more polite and genuinely cavalier posters on the forum. So there's my humble opinion.

Please don't hurt me.

It always amazes how indiscriminate some of the moderators are in the manner that they exercise their discretionary power to delete certain, putatively offensive posts.

I can't imagine what "KP" could have possibly written that would warrant this type of severe sanction.
