There is nothing presidential about Barack Obama–never has been, never will be. I have a former co-worker who drank a gallon of Obama kool-aid who is now singing the blues–and I get to say and take great pleasure in saying “told ya so”. So now that she is a recovering Obamaholic, she is now referring to him as the “Resident” in the White House.

Gallup has “president” Obama down to 44% approval today.

Last night, our friend Althea asked us if we thought Obama would drop below 39% ever, and we told her yes, but we think it’s going to come around Christmas time.

That’s just our gut, but based on everyone we talk to who still supports Obama, these people keep deferring final judgment on him based on whatever promise is out there today. ”Oh, we hope things will get better, and Obama told us to keep hoping, so we’re going to trust him”. ”He said it would take awhile, and he’s still working on it, so I’m just going to wait and see”.

Right now, unemployment numbers are inflated because of the Census hiring.

Summer, seasonal jobs are also included in the hiring numbers right now.

But, sometime in late-November, early December, as people start to make their holiday purchases and realize how shaky everyone is financially, we think people are going to start wondering what good “Hope” and “Change” has done for any of them.

Where are the jobs, o’Lightbringer?

Oprah Winfrey declared you to be “The One”, so where is all of the magical change you promised for our bleak situation?

The lowest 47% of wage earners pay zero federal income tax. That is the core constituency. It is surprising that his approval has dropped to 44%. That means at least some of the welfare dependents are unhappy with him already. He hasn’t been riding through Sherwood Forest robbing the rich fast enough to satisfy them. It will be tough to get the approval down to 39% but if anybody can, this collection of clowns might be able to overturn the odds.

The solution is raise taxes on those who still have jobs and businesses and dispense more to those sucking at the government teat. Oh, and give a speech with a lot of neat signs. Pick up a tarball or two, have a White House concert. Go out with Michelle to the vegetable garden and do some harvesting of arugula.

We have all said that Obama was going to make Jimmy Carter seem semi-competent by comparison. Here Karl Rove states the obvious – Obama is a whiny, petulant man-child who is in way over his head and yet we could or should have all seen it coming from a man who spent his time voting “present”. Back in 1976 we elected an unknown man who spent all of two years as governor of Georgia, and I wonder what this country would have looked like had Carter won a second term. I am too afraid to imagine 8-years of Barack Obama.

When Barack Obama announced he was running for president in February 2007, Nathan Gonzales of the Rothenberg Political Report wrote “Obama’s history of voting ‘present’” in Springfield, Ill.—even on some of the most controversial and politically explosive issues . . . raises questions . . . Voting ‘present’ is one of the three options in the Illinois Legislature (along with ‘yes’ and ‘no’) but it’s almost never an option for the occupant of the Oval Office.”
Mr. Gonzales’s words were prescient. Barack Obama may now be president, but at times he appears to be merely present. That has been the case with his response to the environmental catastrophe unfolding in the Gulf of Mexico. The president was late recognizing the disaster’s magnitude, late in visiting the region, late in approving requests by Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal, and late in feigning outrage. He has never offered an independent plan to stop the leak.
Mr. Obama also seems disinterested in hearing from experts about the spill. The White House’s “Deep Water Horizon Response Timeline” doesn’t list a single meeting between Mr. Obama and industry experts, though he did send Energy Secretary Steven Chu and others to Houston May 12 to meet with BP and others.

Even now, Mr. Obama looks like a spectator, albeit an angry one, barking at White House aides to “plug the damn hole” (now that’s a good idea no one has thought of) and telling NBC’s Matt Lauer he’s in search of an “ass to kick.”
But the main political behind that’s being kicked is Mr. Obama’s. The latest ABC News/Washington Post poll says Americans give the federal government a 69% negative rating for its handling of the spill, compared to a 62% negative rating for Washington’s handling of Katrina in August 2005.
This pattern of being merely present has been apparent almost since the first days of the Obama presidency. He may unveil his mighty teleprompter to help pass what Congress has drafted, but this White House seems strangely disconnected from crafting legislation.

If you can't get a real person to show up to or star in something, just use a puppet or a cardboard cutout. With most members of Congress, no one will even know the difference.

In the 2008 primaries, because of the idiocy of the DNC, candidates were not allowed to campaign in Florida or Michigan, with appearances in Florida especially verboten. So, one of the trips we made for Hillary Clinton’s campaign was to Ft. Meyers, Naples, and other cities in Florida where we carried a cardboard cutout of Hillary around town, asking Floridians to vote for her — which they did, in droves, giving her the state by a healthy margin (that the DNC negated completely at the May 31st Rules & Bylaws Committee Meeting…aka, the Day the Party Died for us).

So, Democrats didn’t want something to happen — ie, Hillary Clinton campaigning in Florida — but her supporters found a way to make this happen anyway, party be damned.

We’ve all heard the Democrats don’t want Town Hall Meetings held this summer, because they don’t want to be berated by voters who are upset with what Democrats have been doing to the country in The Golden Age of Hope and Change.

Who gives them the right to decide whether Town Halls are held or not?

What would happen if citizens held the Town Hall Meetings anyway, invited the Democrats, and if those cowards don’t deign to show up, why can’t the citizens just stand cardboard cutouts of these people in the room and berate them by proxy?

What would be fun, too, and would make the Democrats look especially foolish, would be to create puppets of these people that look enough like them, and act as stupidly as they do, and have puppeteers speak for them based on things these actual politicians have said in public.

We bet, after a week of this, and enough YouTube videos getting out, that Democrats would suddenly want to attend Town Hall Meetings where they can speak for themselves, instead of having puppets or cardboard cutouts do it for them.

In Chicago, there’s a comedy team called Scooty & JoJo that often uses Muppet-style puppets in their shows when they can’t find enough actors to play all the parts, and the Muppets are made fairly cheaply, from what we understand, through some company online. It seems you can get them to look pretty much like anything you want…so puppets could be made for all Democrats in Congress.

And if they don’t show up to a Town Hall Meeting, there on the dais, behind a tablecloth, will be a puppet version of them, taking questions from voters, and looking as ridiculous as possible.

The #1 way to defeat the Left is through ridicule.

And we don’t see how even the Leftist controlled Media can resist showing footage of a puppet Barbara Boxer, Nancy Pelosi, Barney Frank, Patrick Murphy, or other Democrat luminaries taking heat from voters. There’s even a good chance someone would get so mad as to actually rip the stuffing out of these puppets or toss them to dogs or something.

Could be hilarious.

You do realize, in the end, that Israel’s going to win, right?

But even given the bad enunciation on this card, the context is clearly astronomy, and one hesitates to ponder the depths of ignorance that could have shielded adults from ever hearing the word black hole.
