Is there any way to create a "friends" list?

When it comes time for me to bump a thread, I would like to bump it to those interested parties without having to type 20 screen names every single time...

If you post a reply, then immediatley look at the list of replies, your reply will of course be listed at the top at that moment. Hence, "Bump to the Top", "BTTT," or "Bump"--signifying that the reply is for purposes of attracting attention to the thread, more than or to the exclusion of any substantive comment.

John Rob is announcing a way to call a thread to the attention of a pre-defined group of screen names of people whom the bumping individual hopes will be interested.

EXCELLENT explanation!

A "bump_list" is like an "imaginary FReeper" whose interests I would like to follow.
There is no need for a "lowbridge_list" because there is already a REAL (sort of) lowbridge that I can "follow around" by searching for Articles + Replies addressed to:lowbridge - that SOMEONE thought he should see, like THIS reply. ;)

Now, you can "follow around" the posts addressed to:bang_list etc., as well.

I can draw blood,do pap smears etc...some of us have skills other than computer...the next time ya need some medical care ,be glad your nurse isnt thinking about her Bump list..or "wallpaper" :>))

You can't sign up for these lists. All you can do is search for them. Best way to do that is click the name on the bump-list page.

No, don't register the old fashioned lists of screen names. This register is for "fake users" only.

I'm mostly using this bump list register to catch nonexistent users. Soon, only existing screen names, or names of bump lists, will be allowable in the TO field of replies.

Yes, there will be a friends list. It will be private to your account--others will not be able to use it. Not only will you be able to flag your friends to forum posts, you will also be able to mass mail your friends. There will also be a public list, which is what these bump lists here will transform into.
