I could be wrong but I sense the momentum to oppose Sotomayor is growing.
It should be growing, the Republicans need to be reminding people that Joe Biden’s criteria is ideology and that BHO voted against Roberts and Alito even though he said they were well qualified and had good temperment for the bench.
I strongly oppose her nomination — but petitions are a waste of time. They are about as effective as street protests — they make participants feel useful without having any effect whatsoever on the cause.
And, fundamentally, the fact that a few thousand people believe in something strongly enough to type their name on a list isn’t even a noteworthy fact. At least protesters have to DO something.
Petitions are prone to fraud, and ultimately prove nothing about the opinions of the public. There are more productive endeavors.

Abortion is NOT a judicial issue. You would have had my signature had it not been for that silly-assed statement in the petition.
FYI: I DO NOT support abortion, and I DO NOT support Roe v Wade.
However, I don't believe a nominee's position on abortion has ANYTHING to do with whether they are qualified, or acceptable, for the USSC.
Anyone who does is just as bad as those who invented the "Right to Privacy" upon which Roe is based...and you're just as dangerous to a free people.
She is certain to be approved with probably 60+ votes unless something completely out of left field arises. Most of these surveys, filibuster calls and petitions are just an excuse to raise money.
